A. Lange & Söhne is always my favorite, no matter the model, but a close second is the Jaeger-LeCoulter, but then who wouldn’t love any of the watches shown.
I was stunned by the JLC. Such a beautiful watch! I usually prefer sport watches, but there was something about the Master Control Calendar that really clicked with me on an aesthetic level.
The Lange One, Rose Gold 192.032--breathtaking. The JLC 4142520 is also stunning and what's more, it has the day of the week. This is my favorite complication since I often find myself forgetting what day it is!
What a fantastic choice of moonphases! Each of those shines in another area. The Lange A. has the most stunning moon phase indicator. I just adore how you can see the texture of the bottom of the seconds hand reflected in the moon. The Moser has a stunning dial which comes so alive when the hands pass over the shiny dots and make them flicker. Finally the fantastic JLC. It has a gorgeous caliber and just seems so well put together overall and the massive flex of having the date hand just skip the moon phase is just so quintessentially JLC. I just love that one to bits, though I actually do prefer the Ultra-thin moon phase for its perfect clean proportions and looks. Jenni Elle, you have great taste!
You cannot deny the handsomeness and preciseness of the ALS, the understatedness of the Moser and the genius of the JLC. All 3 are amazing but if I had to choose just 1.. it would be the ALS. 👍🏻
I think I agree with you, Jenni. The Lange 1 Moonphase might be my favourite of these three watches. The dark dial is what does it for me. It's a close call, though.

I have to go with your choice of the JLC. It really is startlingly lovely. I have to say though, one that didn't feature today is the Cellini. I know it's not particularly cool to like that line, but I can't stop staring at pictures of it.

JLC simply doesn't get enough love from the watch community, they are fantastic with just about everything they put out. and yes, this moonphase is absolutely amazing!
Absolutely form over function, a moon phase without a date/calendar is even a bit silly (especially a very precise one) because you have to keep your watch in sync with the moon so you either have to keep it wound an running constantly or set the moon phase every time you wear it.

I really like the JLC, especially the skipping date complication. It would be lovely to see more affordable alternatives such as Longines as an example.

They are all beautiful but I think I prefer the Moser without the moonface, The stark simplicity of just the three hands is very striking. The JLC is very clever but I am afraid I am a complete A. L&S fan, if you ut any three watches down of any type I think I would pick the Lange, I saw a vid with 200X Magnification of the movement the other day and it was still perfect!
The A.Lange and the JLC are absolutely beautiful, and I'd feel fortunate to wear either one. I really haven't gotten into the Moser brand as I rarely see a dial I like (though their movements are great).
omg so glad you covered this JLC instead of the MUT ahhhhh I can't decide between which moonphase I like/want more, the JLC master ultra thin in rose gold or the JLC master control calendar. I just checked the prices and JLC bumped them up 1k again! Although the MUT has an extremely clean dial, I do love the charm that the control calendar has with the jump between the 15th and 16th. The one semi off thing about calendar would be the gap between the day/month windows, kinda makes it look like eyes and the moonphase is the mouth haha
every two weeks or so i open this video ... skip to the park where jenny pronounces A lange & Söhne ... I become happy, and then i go on for another two weeks until i need another refill.
I spent 5 years in Karlsruhe when I was 5-10 years old and even though Florida will always be my home I really enjoyed the part of my childhood spent in Germany 🇩🇪 Edit: love the JLC and another great video ❤️
Hope you are better now. Never did get moonphase watches but I could live with the JLC , very well done. The Moser, accurate movement only actually tell the time at noon and midnight.

Well she is Austrian, that’s a softer German.

I love a moonphase. I'm not often thrilled by a day/night complication, but the idea of changing the sky colour on the Lange is brilliant.

The Lange is my grail watch. I saw it at a AD and was smitten, but I can only hope a pre-owned one falls into the affordable range for me someday.
