- This incredible speed run was performed by multiple gamers. It is obviously tool assisted, as it is normally impossible to complete this game without obtaining any stars. But the hack can only work when certain sequences of moves and/or button mashing is completed, which takes a high level of skill. Kudos to all who performed this amazing time attack.
Imagine Bowser spending months carefully planning and executing a perfect hostile takeover of Peach's castle only for Mario to show up break the laws of physics and reality itself to send him packing within less than 6 minutes

The part where Mario said "yayayayhoooooooooooo" really touched my hart and is the best thing to ever happen to me.
I love how, in basically any game, given enough time, optimal gameplay evolves to a point where the protagonist's actions make absolutely no sense at all in-universe and would make any other character in the world go completely insane watching the dude zip through objects, manipulate spacetime and distort the very fabric of existence to reach the end faster.
Sounds like a great way to make an fanfic about.

I’m amazed at how people find and exploit these glitches in games. I played this game for years and had no clue.

I've always thought it was just a skill some people have. There seem to be some people who just have a knack for finding exploits and breaking games.
There has to be some software that can detective weak parts in the games design which can be broken through to create a ‘glitch’ these types of old games were made with so many bugs.

I came after seeing mario speedrun parodies and then realized they weren't parodies they were just fan animations of the original XD
Same! There needs to be a sister channel where a guy explains what the holy hell is going on. It seems to me like the two main tools being used here are: A. Something about stairs … is wonky. To say the least. That crouch jump, backwards up the stairs LAUNCH trick is insanely useful. And fast as all hell. And B. There’s certain parts of the world, ceilings and walls, which don’t have collision detection. But it would be very fun to see someone who really really knows what they’re talking about break it all down.
@@MYTUBE427 I don't claim to be an expert by any means, but I can at least explain the crazy backwards jumping. The devs forgot to set a speed limit for Mario's backwards movement, so if you do that backwards jump you can accelerate basically forever.
