While we do a squeezer comparison a few days ago I saw a post that said pro with MAX run speed strafes slower then base squeezer, that just feels unfair. Buffing the run speed curve could be a cool way to buff it to encourage builds like yours, since not many shooters get to run it it would be kinda unique as well as make it benefit from cooler more. This was a cool topic very fun to watch.
The mobility is a big downside to it rn, and i really feel it as a shooter main. Strafe speed would definitely would be a good buff for it! I feel like the devs really want it to be a supportive midline rather than a fighting weapon, and the recent buffs to paint, pfs, and damage help it with its flexibility and consistency without it outclassing anything. More mobility should help it do that without stepping on any other weapons.
If angle shooter gets the right buff to make it alot better where the trip wire can do damage or if it gets a paint buff to where the line paints a thin line below itself the vanilla kit would be amazing
For real, the vanilla kit has so much potential to be a really good and a really fun kit if both the Pro and and Angle Shooter received the proper amounts of buffs.
what if it painted a thin line if you direct hit someone? easier follow ups! or make it do more damage depending on distance, or more damage the more it bounces off terrain (it'd feel threatening to fight a dart user in tight spaces) make it so when you direct hit a dart, it makes a different sound for your teammates, in soloQ i could hit someone with 2 darts in a row (that's 80 damage) and my team would never know that opponent's weak, although now they know where they are
@@UmbraVivens94 The main point of the paint buff I had in mind was to give the main a way to paint from a distance to charge up special, it can also put a block to were you can see opponents if they jump over or paint over the line to get across. However it won't be no curing bomb, it'll be very hard to stay inside the thin trail left behind
I remember the pro was the weapon to get me into X rank for the first time in S2. I hope it gets more love, but then again I like outperforming others with "bad" weapons or off-meta picks.
8:48 For Vpro specifiacally: give line marker 20 dmg if you hit the line (this will apply only one time). give line marker the same effect of sting ray beam just 4 times smaller than that OR make that every time you hit a wall with line it will refresh it's range just 10 percent shorter so that line marker would actually just bounce off walls more than 1 time. For pro in general: -increse the effect of run speed. -increse the effect of intensify. - increse shot velocity. - nerf squeezer cuz that thing is also ruining nautilus...
splattershot pro has so much potential, its just that the shot velocity and the extra range is needed badly. squeezer could honestly be at risk if it received those buffs. the kit is honestly not that bad, angle can be used to mark enemies and crab is well, crab. also, its ink-hungriness can be a problem if you aren't running ink saver main. it just needs 3 buffs honestly.
I’m a forge pro main and I run the following gear build for tower control: Main - last ditch effort, ninja squid, ink saver main Subs - ink saver sub (1), ink saver main (1), run speed up (2), swim speed up (2), ink resistance up (1), special charge up. For splat zones, I change the ninja squid for another ink saver. I use the ttek for rain maker and clam blitz. The thing with the pro is you can’t play it like a slayer. I think people hear “splattershot” and immediately try to play it like a slayer. I’m usually #1 overall splatter but I play way more patiently than I would with a ttek. I use ninja squid cuz I’m usually sharking around for mid range kills.
to be fair it does have a few attributes that could make it as good as squeezer, but not exactly in the same categories its paint range is fairly decent while squeezer’s paint is very weak, its forge kit puts a lot more paint than either of the squeezer kits, is more accessible, has better DPS If I could make it good, I would make it so that it can be a flexible midline weapon that can fit with pretty much everything, so I’d be buffing its paint a bit, reduce its jump RNG a little, and make it strafe much faster, while also nerfing squeezer’s ink efficiency to put it on an equal level
i’m a big casual player, but my kit for pro ever since the second game has always been, run/swim speed, with main and ink recovery. i’m just someone who likes to have a lot of movement. and luckily it just so happened to work with pro so much, that it became one of my biggest mains in 2. and i’ve been even luckier to get something so close to that pro kit in the third game. so it just feels like i’ve just transferred my splat 2 gear to three. it’s genuinely insane on how lucky i got, but i’ve never stopped having fun with pro
i've been playing forge so much lately, it's become one of my favorite weapons :) . i've tried a few different builds, but currently i've been running special charge, main saver and last ditch effort for main abilities, and more special charge, run speed, swim speed and main saver for secondary. really hoping it continues to get some buffs in future patches :)
This weapon lacks the power of the 96 and the speed of squeezer it’s like this weird underdeveloped middle child. Lol. Imo the pro is just way to slow with no real reward or reason To play it other than preference.
Yeah, what dude means by sluggish I assume it refers to how pro feels a bit outdated to other shooters, Basically every short range shooter got a ton of buffs in S2, referring to speed, paint and more, and shooters like pro, 96 and h3 feel so outdated
While it might be a bit aggressive/fast-paced, could you try opening gambit? That provides you with the movement you want and you can incorporate other things like ink recovery
I remember picking up the Pro during the Splatfest demo and feeling that something was wrong, i want to give it a shot in ranked because it was one of my favourite weapon in S2 and i will take inspo from your build to do so
Honestly it feels like what Nintendo is trying to do is make pro a squeezer jr in a sort of sense, with it having better paint than squeezer while having less range
I use the (Forge) Splattershot Pro because of the booyah bombs (I'm coming from the Aerospray RG) and for a very specific game mode: Rainmaker. Descent (Long) range and 3 shot kill. However, it's an ink guzzler and slow fire rate so you have to be precise at aiming and not wasting your ink unnecessarly
I think the reason Spro isn't seen as good is that there is nothing it's openly good at. It has mediocre range, damage. Bad paint and fire rate are also some candidates and that Squeezer is just a better version of it. I see it a little like a way to learn how to play squeezer. They are similar weapons in their jobs in the game. One is easier to use and one is just a better option overall.
I've really enjoyed using Forge Pro ever since it got 200p Booyah Bomb back in 6.1, but its extremely slow strafing speed is something I find hard to ignore. For that reason, I also like to run a main of Run Speed on my build in addition to Comeback. Ink Saver (Sub) is also good to make suction bombs cheaper since the main weapon is pretty ink-hungry as is.
I like to run ninja squid on the pro. It's so middling that it's sort of a bad and good match up against every other weapon and if I can stall for just a little bit I can f usually find an advantage. I feel like where it struggles is the margins are so small against other mid range its really hard to maintain those advantages. Either a fire rate or range buff would be nice, but what i really want is a splat bomb to keep my opponents out of position or hide the little bit of splash before ninja squid activates so I can reposition. Been trying either a ink efficiency build (for the up time) or a special cycling build (for the paint), both with at least 2 subs run speeds.
I think a run speed and shot velocity buff are great ideas not to mention paint. Also maybe the Squeezer should be nerfed like imo that thing has way too much range. Its advantage should be that it has two modes making it versatile but those modes shouldn't be strictly better than other more focused weapons.
The Splattershot Pro definitely needs the range, shot velocity and strafe speed buffs to make it really good and I also think that they need to revert the nerfs that the Pro has received from the previous games that are still effecting it till this day.
in my opnion splattershot forima is the best weapon to play Tower control cause the succion bomb and the booyah bomb makes pefect to attack the tower or keep the tower in control is the only mode that i play with splattershot and to be honest i think is the only one that works well for the weapon
Its actually freakin O.P. You have a good range, it shoots not as slow as the GAL and you only need 2-3 hits to kill. Also you got 2 REALLY good sets. Its a noobweapon, why is this even a question?
For Splattershot Pro, I go with Swim Speed, Ink Saver Main (because the weapon is so ink hungry) and Special Charge Up. However, I think gear builds are overrated. Your skill as a player makes far more of an impact than your gear. To make the Pro more competitive, I think the damage per shot should be 49. As for Squeezer, it may be a better weapon, but it is far more difficult to use. Playing it will kill your hand.
I think Nintendo should buff the damage from 45 to 48 so it can combo with many weapons, also, they can buff the range to just maybe slightly less than 96
The pro is the only shooter I like to play. I did not play them yet after the patch, but try them in the lobby and thought 90 damage on two shots is very good, especially many player do not care about to have a "little" damage on them. I play the forge with his sub, so sub saver for me and play both kits with swim speed up to hold the range. I could try to tweak my gear for the vanilla kit with run speed up to give it a shot. Also I love this video for his theoretical talk about weapon and gear. The gear system is probably right now the only thing which motivate me to play Splatoon.

I love this because I main both squeezer and pro
Lately splatter shot pro has been more of a problem to combat
Make the Pro great again
The mobility is a big downside to it rn, and i really feel it as a shooter main. Strafe speed would definitely would be a good buff for it!

As someone who's been maining the pro since splatoon 1: PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
This new video style is super cool! This kind of metagame analysis is really cool and I haven't really seen you do it before. Nice vid!

tearing it up when :(
As a Dual Squelcher mourner, I love the Pro but it's movement and lack of paint is indeed what turns me off of the weapon most of the time.

I don't think pro will ever be good until they remove squeezer unfortunately 😭 That weapon's just so much better in every way
Ehhh if it gets these two buffs in question it will have a fighting chance atleast 😅

Forge is still pretty damn good with suction and booyah bomb. Can be a good sleeper pick
Im a squeezer main but pro mains are like our cousins and i would absolutely like them to get buffed
I used Spatter Shot Pro almost exclusively in 2, so I'm glad I'm not missing anything by not getting 3.
I hope it becomes good. It's my favorite weapon design-wise.
I like to run ninja squid on the pro. It's so middling that it's sort of a bad and good match up against every other weapon and if I can stall for just a little bit I can f usually find an advantage.

As a four-star Forge Pro player, I really think it should have a better range, I guess like 10~15% further will be enough for it.
The Splattershot Pro definitely needs the range, shot velocity and strafe speed buffs to make it really good and I also think that they need to revert the nerfs that the Pro has received from the previous games that are still effecting it till this day.
this is THE ONLY shoter i wuld say less than 200p is fine as the paint IS SO BAD it may as well have it
As a Forge pro main, I feel that this weapon (including V pro) just feels a little bit outdated, despite the patches to make this weapon buffed.
All weapons that are out class by range or special spamablity should get buffs to give the weapon an identity
I think Pro just needs painting buff. Cause for the same ink tank vshot paints MORE than shotpro can which already feels super unfair.
new dude video hype
now if stringer had dart crab
in my opnion splattershot forima is the best weapon to play Tower control cause the succion bomb and the booyah bomb makes pefect to attack the tower or keep the tower in control is the only mode that i play with splattershot and to be honest i think is the only one that works well for the weapon
i like squeezer in theory but in practice it just hurts my finger 😢
Shout-out to the goat SAVAGE
I run 2 gear of pure special charge up with forge splattershot pro
And use the booyah as a threat and less of a killer
If I gets its power from splatoon 1 there might be use
Pro really is just a shell of its former self. I doubt it'll receive any more buffs either.
Can you do another Splatoon 1 live video? Thank you and I love your channel by the way 😍😍😍😍
Perfect analysis on the splatershot pro 👍🏽
Appreciate it!
