To everyone asking about harmful dosage it works like any other drug. You start off with a small dose to build up your tolerance. You don’t immediately start with 2000mg. I recommend taking 250 mg to start off with for a couple days and then bump it up to 500 mg ONLY if you feel your body is ready. Remember everybody is different.

I started at a 1000mg. I was fine with the flush but my legs swell and if I take it a day after or consecutively for 2 days or a day after I still get that swelling. I'll restart next month and start with 100mg and increase it from there after a few months to get my body used to it.

@@hannaishak7206 Uric Acid not bad. I guess it was because I jumped the gun by taking 1000mg before saturating from a low dose or it can also be due to the brand of Nicotinic Acid I used which was Piping Rock.
I'm up to 600mg now Nature's Way brand twice a day (Morning/Evening) working my way to 1000mg. I suppose my body is adjusting better to it since asides from the expected flush that clears up I've no other side effects.
I take this with Bilberry (eyes) and Vitamin C for the Arteries along with my 2 Tbs of Sea Moss in the morning since your vasodilating your arteries no better time to infuse it with other nutrients.

I bought some Niacin from GNC in the last year, to help with blood pressure, (as it is a vasodilator), I bought the 500mg tablets, did not know about the flushing part, took me a couple days to figure out what I was taking (was also taking a prebiotic, may have been past expire date, so thought that was what was making me flush and my skin to tingle, mine did not actually itch, just tingled a bit) both the flush and tingling subsided after about 20 mins or so. I was not sure on how much to take daily, found some evidence to not take too much, so I quartered the tablets and take 1/4 every day. Did not know about taking at night before bed, to help with the flushing (not noticing as much at night), so I found this video informative. I was worried about taking too much and it causing damage to my liver or kidneys... so am opting for a lower dosage. I also found that taking with applesauce can help to reduce/negate the flushing/tingly itchy skin.

The first time I took niacin I did not know you were meant to flush so I started panicking, then started googling it to find out it is a normal reaction and harmless. Ever since I really actually value the feeling of the flush, when the peak of it ends I start becoming deeply relaxed and free of anxiety and just overall tiredness, it makes me very calm and energetic. I'm taking 500mg every day now in the evening and it also helps me with insomnia from past benzodiazepine use. It's almost like my brain and chest are taking a really deep breath.

I've been taking 500mg 2x daily for at least 10 years. Heart disease runs deep in my family history so I decided in my early 40s that I wanted to protect my vascular health as much as possible. Niacin, fish oil, D3/K2, CoQ10, and a few other supplements have really helped me preserve my overall health, along with exercise and regular fasting. I only take full flushing niacin because it's the only one that really works. I've been taking it for so long that I almost never experience the flush anymore, only when I take it on empty stomach.

So it's just important to be aware of the current evidence on the subject, and that is why I mentioned it. Certainly not everyone who takes significant amounts regularly will then develop Type II, but current evidence shows that there is an increased risk. Differentiate the LDL into it's 7 components and see if you have high glycated end products. Maybe that is beyond this video but people should not be afraid of LDL. You cannot live without it.

BEFORE TAKING SLOW RELEASE OR NO FLUSH OPTIONS INSTEAD OF REGULAR NIACIN DO YOUR RESEARCH ABOUT THE DOWNSIDE . Regular niacin will not cause flushing if you slowly build up your dose over days or weeks ---- FLUSHING DOES NOT HARM YOU --- ITS JUST UNCOMFORTABLE FOR A SHORT PERIOD --- YOU FEEL HOT AND ITCHY FOR 15-30-60 MIN OR SO. it depends how sensitive you are to it so start with the low dose maybe 50mg/day and build up.

Niacin is a vitamin you must start slowly and gradually work your way up to your desired dose. The first time I took it it startled me because I wasnt expecting the side effects. The flushing doesn't last long and as you increase your dose the flushing can eventually go away completely. I have found all the "Take with X and you wont flush" to be bogus. The only thing that worked for me was dosage saturation. I am currently on 4grams and I no longer flush at all. I had debilitating arthritis and am mostly pain free now. I also noticed an increase in cognitive function. 3 years now and no down side except peeing a lot. Stay hydrated.

I enjoy that niacin "flush" when I hit the hay. It feels cool & refreshing ... as if I'd just completed a steam bath (even when that's far from the case). People are always startled, scared and misjudge it when they don't know to expect the flush. When they DO know ahead of time, however, they can enjoy its uplifting effects ... presented at the RIGHT time & environment . Best to take it just before you go to sleep. It's so comfortable while you just lay there motionless, you won't feel like moving. Even feels like it reboots the mind ... feeling more rested afterward ... both physically & mentally. (Just be prepared for its slightly extra cooling effect ... with an adequate sheet or light blanket.) :)

I had just watched Andrew Saul and he seems to think niacin and vitamin C can cure everything except death. I didn't take it for covid I was taking it to keep me warm which it did. I'm anemic and I felt so good I walked on average two hours every day. I barely had any symptoms of covid. This year had a severe case of covid forgot to take niacin because I try to cycle my supplements. First week too sick to get out of bed least of all go walking. The inositol version of niacin has a niacin molecule at each of the 6 corners.
Enzymatic action breaks down the bond to the niacin releasing it.
Inositol hexanicotinate is the most effective form of niacin because of this slow release mechanism.

Because it breaks down the triglycerides, assisting with better blood flow and giving less chances of uric acids building up.

While great that you are trying to deduce some connections: As a biologist I don't think that these can be such straightforward.
The level of TGs in blood is regulated...
Certainly the pathway mentioned is only one of those that lead to the formation of TGs.
But may be that this one is mainly responsible for elevated TGs. Maybe.
Where have you heard that lower TGs alone would increase blood flow? 🤔🙃 There are so many, much more voluminous or dense constituents in the blood. Also, lowering the "bad" cholesterols (actually there is a whole range of different densities, sizes of good and bad...) doesn't always lower the clot formation. Things in biology are always more complicated than one can think of ... 🤫

Niacin is transforned into NAD which is part of the basic cellular metabolism... If there is enough NAD in the cells perhaps they burn more calories...
Although they should also work more efficiently (meaning less waste, so less energy needed... so maybe the excess is stored as fat 🤔😉): I would say that under 50 one should NOT normally need extra B3 uptake. Perhaps it helps with muscle building with regular exercise.
If you start to search after how complicated are the networks affected by most of the supplements, you'll realise that one can only rely on good quality clinical studies: even those produce many times more or less contradictory results. But those are at least explained after some more investigation, while most of the problematic issues found via basic or epidemiologic research have no satisfactory answers even after three decades and hundreds of studies

Like vitamin D, a fat soluble vitamin, with the lack of fat or the correct kind of food which most people are deficient in can lead cross over to vitamin b associated irregularities.

Some b vitamin deficiencies are caused by low stomach acid. A topic to look into more, dont know all the details.

Is niacin and Niacinamide the same thing? Some say niacin is better for acne and skin and others say niacinimide. So confusing! Thanks for the informative video!

The amide form is definitely not the same... Find some review study on PubMed... You'll probably find that about more specific effects there are no straightforward answers. And this statement is true for the majority of supplements.
Sulpho-raphanine (in broccoli, mainly in sprouts) has been studied by hundreds of research groups over the decades: do you think there are clear answers on any use of it?
I'm just rolling my eyes when I see how many over- enthusiastic videos are on YT on any supplement. Usually made by people who are tightly affiliated with some forms and brands... selling them.
If the viewers would see and understand the actual results (which are really HARD to evaluate even if some professional already summarized the most relevant findings in a review paper), would be way less optimistic. Which is bad for health and even worse for business 😜
The researchers themselves try to summarize their study (part of the article titled Abstract) as optimistically as can be formulated without explicit lies. Who would sponsor a group which mostly finds only negative results?
Not even academies in the long run!

How much is the dose of niasin that could harm the liver? Is there any tests that I should do first for my liver to see if it is safe to take this vitamin?

250 mg to start. ,500 mg per day once you can handle the flushing.. when I take it I skin brush that feels so good

Basic liver enzymes levels (which are routinely checked) should suffice.... If you (or your genetic relatives) haven't had problems with liver, then 250mg should be safe...
      Start with lower doses though

Omg I did it today 500 mg... and I thought I was having a stroke with the facial drooping, skin felt like it was on FIRE. My feet got very cold then hot. I was down on the floor with tunnel vision... my speech was a little slurry. I have slightly elevated bad cholesterol... oh boy... this was intense.

Took 100mg. Swelled up like a tomato. Stood up, blood rushed to my legs and I almost passed out. Good stuff. I recommend.
