Was not expecting a Happy Gilmore crossover in a Beverly Hills cop film
Yeah, what was up with that!? 😂 It felt so random and out of place but I laughed so hard with that cameo!
I was waiting for “don’t you know who I am? I’m fucking Shooter McGavins!”
@@jimmylarson7856 Now that’s the cinematic universe I didn’t wanted but needed.
This was a Netflix film and Netflix is currently making Happy Gilmore 2
@@jimmylarson7856 Water Boy 2 better be next.
After seeing Bad Boys: Ride or Die, it's good to see movies like these make a great comeback.
Yeah
I wish those Beverly Hills Cop toys that Shaq promoted were real
Biggest moment is coming to the realisation that Happy Gilmore is set in the Beverly Hills Cop universe.
Eddie looks incredibly well for his age!
Cough - digital de-aging - cough
@@douglasjohnson4382no
@@douglasjohnson4382 No, the man does actually look that good. You know what they say: "Money don't crack."
His skin looks really great and he's in pretty good shape for 63.
Eddie Murphy is such an underrated dramatic actor
Forget Beverly Hills Cop, when are we getting a sequel to “The Golden Child”?
Its OK for stories to just end. Its OK to not have something continue, The Golden Child doesn't have anything resembling any sort of need for sequels
@lutherheggs451 Fair enough
I I, I, I-I-I want the sequel
@@lutherheggs451no I demand a sequel so I can complain how it’s not as good as the original
What Wanna Know Why There’s No Sequel For The Golden Child?, Ain’t There Because Beverly Hills Cop Is More of A Bigger Film and More Of A Classic Than The Golden Child, That’s Why
Bogomil changed careers and died after being shot by Robocop. Obviously..
He survived that, I hear he finally died on Mars after some kind of incident, but I can't quite total recall all the details
Nah. Bogomil is busy making Silver Shamrock masks. I heard they're making bucks after that advertisement.
I agree with this review 100% especially the part where you say this film needed more Judge Reinhold. Hopefully when they make Part V they can have him show up more. Surprised that Taggart had such a huge role in the film.
I agree, it’s a good movie
And way better than 3
But it’s not as good as 1 and 2
And for 2 reasons
Barely any reinhold
And too much of the daddy issues subplot
Seriously, axel without billy throughout most of the movie is like Martin Riggs without roger murtaugh
Or carter without lee.
But, other than that it’s a good movie and better than most modern sequels now.
I can actually play this on keyboard 😆😎👍
Can't wait for the Pluto Nash part 2 remake
1:31 Well, if it didn't air, it doesn't count. 2:15 I now await your review of that one, Mr. Jones. NETFLIX seemingly has no quality control or standards for projects to meet; like, "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks!"
Welp, now I gotta catch up on the whole BHC saga now. I haven't watched on eof those movies in years.
They make a point of showing us his daughters ID in the beginning: Jane Nova Saunders. At first I thought that Axel had hooked up w/ Jenny and had this girl but I thought for sure her last name was Summers. So I looked it up & it is Summers, Jenny Summers. Another weird almost connection w/ her middle name being 'Nova' and Jenny's very memorable line about Axel's crappy blue Chevy Nova and Axel's retort of 'the same crappy blue Chevy Nova'. I think that's the only time we hear the word in the movie and I for sure associate it w/ Jenny's line. They make no detailed mention of her mother so we get no confirmation other than our own Google search. So we have to assume it's someone else but I find it odd that they are so close: Jane Saunders - Jenny Summers and the Nova thing... idk
Netflix honestly made a huge mistake not giving this a theatrical run first (outside of a limited New York/LA release where their theaters are established), especially in the wake of "Maverick"'s release and reception. Was lucky to see it today at the Egyptian in Hollywood and it played amazingly with an audience, especially the action sequences.
Just watched it and really glad I did.
I'm writing that i find it strange that Netflix made Beverly Hills Cop and Beverly Hills Cop 2 available to stream but not Beverly Hills Cop 3 because they could have had all four Beverly Hills Cop films available to stream on Netflix.
yea. I'm thinking that may have been some shenanigans paramount decided to pull.
Cool to hear encouraging response. Intrigued to check it out.
I loved it, if there is a 5th one just hope it doesn’t take another 30 years, I can’t imagine a 90 year old Axel Foley still kicking ass and taking names.
a late supper ➡️ 🍤🥗🥪
Glad to hear that they are giving the characters a proper finish (if this is indeed the finish). The third was .. not good. Thanks for the review Brad!
Eddie Murphy (I think it was him, it might have been the director or other producers) came out and said they already have a script and plans for part 5 and considering this is getting pretty good reviews so far and will probably do very well on Netflix, it's likely they'll move forward with it.
So true! A solid B!
Am i the only one who likes BHC 3? I rewatched it other day just see if i was crazy. Still loved the "Elles Dewald" award ceremony scene.
For some Reason i never watched any Beverly Hills Cop even though it apparently was so popular here in Germany when i grew up in the late 1980s and 1990s, they had those Movies on each Christmas Evening. Don't ask me why, Germany is weird.
I definitely should watch them sometime. And before you go "You never seen Hollywood Cop?!" Be honest, there are definitely some famous Movies you never watched!
Here are others i've never seen despite being a Film Buff: The Godfather, Citizen Kane, Casablanca, Vertigo...
You've got to be a real Film Buff to sit through Citizen Kane so don't feel bad.
I really liked it
oh serge is back? Yea Ill watch
Nice review.
Where the sequel to Pluto Nash?
or 'Metro' ? :)
@@eclipsehorse8693 Or give us Nutty Professor 3?
@@Se7enBeatleofDoom 'Haunted mansion 2' :)
I knew i wasn't the only one missing bogomil
I found BHC3 to be too cartoony in style, but I still enjoyed it. It's just not of the same caliber as the previous two. As for Axel F, well, I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved how they mixed things up with similar sequences t the previous movies.
BHC 3 felt like a made for TV holiday special
Great movie!
A shame Axel,Taggart and Billy didn't share more screen time tog5 in this one
Good.
This was the second best of the series it would have worked better years ago with every one being younger and it would have worked with a storyline where axels daughter and Jospeh were married under age Joseph being a cop the daughter being a lawyer still but underage kept the same cast as the exact same characters and did it where they still crashed the plane on the happy Gilmore universe and kept them there for a long time
Too me, this is the REAL part 3. That 94 movie, doesn´t exist to me :D
Joseph Gordon Levitt was great addition
This movie honestly kicked ass
I want a sequel to Norbit....
Are we going to see a review for Trigger Warning by any chance? I'll even take it as a short.
1:56 that's Captain jellico to you!
Please review Bad Boys Ride or Die
“Heh heh heh heh-heh-heh and then another heh heh heh-heh-heh.
Yeah it was definitely a lot better than the third one. They all have there charm though, but this was really good:)
I haven’t seen it yet but is Paul Reiser character the new Inspector in Detroit? Replacing Todd?
Yes. He's the head of that precinct etc.
I watched this earlier and felt it was pretty good! Wasn’t a fan of the estranged daughter-father dynamic, it wasn’t necessary, but I still had a fun time with the movie
Yeah, cut that crap out
Have axel have no daughter
It’s not necessary and have billy not get kidnapped and have him be with axel throughout the movie.
Than it’s a great movie
is saying it's better than the third a high bar to clear?
I had the same thought. The third installment wasn't really all that good. Rather quite bad. I would say this make Beverly hills cop 3 look Oscar worthy
Awesome. I'm glad it turned out good. Could have been a disaster.
i loved this one and i guess i'm the only one who actually loves the 3rd film and yes that one took me awhile to like i'm not gonna lie. and yes that is the weakest one and still is. but i still love it i'ven calling my dad Uncle Dave and Okay Dokie for years lol. if i recall that was Alan Young's name in it. anyways what not one single person but me noticed online at all is that there was NO Fucking Shaky Cam none at all whatsoever it i could actually tell what the fuck was going on. it was such a great felling how i missed watching an action movie like this and not getting dizzy watching the damn thing shake when it's an action scene. also Brad the actress who played Jenny apparently retired from acting in (1995) Ronny Cox i dunno why he's not in this one maybe he's just retired? the character not the actor & Hector i think did retire from acting i think? i'm not really sure on that. i read online they are wanting to do a 5th but they want a good script 1st i've also read that the director was told to Ignore part 3 which is why him having a daughter who is 32 and not mentioned in part 3 at all exists. though he did of course poke fun at part 3 anyways
Poor Brandon T Jackson. I actually liked the unaired pilot
Man i hope this IS good..i love BHC 2 And i Really HATE how modern writing Ruins The old Heroes..also Axels daughter Better not Be annoying/smug
She is, and she’s the worst part of the movie.
But, it’s still a good movie but don’t expect it to be better than 1 and 2
It is better than 3 though.
That AI face in the thumbnail will never ever look like you.
Is the third one really that bad? I've seen it ages ago, but I remember thinking it was OK. Eddy Murphy wasn't in his prime anymore, but also far from the rock bottom he hit in Pluto Nash.
3 was perfectly fine. These people who disown it for ever happening or hate it like nothing else, it's the same with Alien Resurrection or other sequels like it. It's perfectly acceptable to like or enjoy something even if others hate it etc.
@@LordLOC Obviously it's acceptable to enjoy a movie regardless of quality, I was asking whether it's as bad as people say. You said it's "perfectly fine", but I'm not sure how accurate that judgement is if you think anything past "Aliens" in the Alien franchise is a good movie.
@@ser6Ijvolk Alien Resurrection is a perfectly fine watch, it may not be a good Alien movie, but it's a fun little romp. Is it "good"? Not really. Can you get some fun out of it? I can. And I think I may have responded to the wrong comment as it is, but that's fine, RUclips is RUclips lol
BHC 3 is an ok watch, won't change the world, won't be that memorable, but it's a fun little 90 minutes IMO. :)
Good grief, Eddie Murphy has aged well.
Doesn't Bogomil get murdered off-screen at the start of the third movie?
I don't recall for certain because that movie was absolute trash but it is definitely still canon.
Ronny Cox is still with us but he is like 85 now.
Wait a minute. So Murphy is dropping F bombs and dirty jokes like the old times? Or is it PG comedy?
I liked Part 3. Alot better than part 2.
Agree
I like 3 better than 2.
2 is just too Tony Scott.
Part 3 was straight up PG garbage
At least Part 2 had Rosewood and Taggert.
3 is better than 2 I agree
Dirty Rosewood
Everyone shits on the 2nd one, but I think its a good movie. Some of the jokes fell flat in this one for me, but the action scenes were good IMO.
The second one? Most people speak highly of it. It's the John Landis directed third one people treat like Cinderella's first ball gown.
@@AngelofMusic04 True
Did you see the Trailer for God's not Dead 5?
Really?
Return of God's Still Not Dead Again Part II
Could janice be biological mother of jane?
No. The digs at "Beverly Hills Cop III" make it clear that it's set in 1994; Axel tells Jane he knows she's 32 after they survive the attempted cartel assassination in Beverly Hills; the Detroit scenes are clearly in the winter so it's pre or post Christmas (can't remember if there's any overt Christmas imagery in either Detroit or Beverly Hills); and the movie theater the cartel shooting happens in front of clearly advertises the Finnish film "Fallen Leaves", which was released in L.A. back in November last year because it was the same time "Napoleon" and "Saltburn" came out.
So Jane being 32 and born in either 1991 or 1992 and being either 2 or 3 when "III" was taking place kinda contradicts some things and makes Axel look like a bad dad and husband for going after Spawn's leftovers after saving Wonder World.
i fell asleep watching this
Didn't miss out on anything.
I saw it, it was 2020s dogshit.
I think you watched a different film, I thought it was crap and no where near as good as the original or its sequels.
And you're absolutely right.Which is probably why it's produced by Netflix
@@johnnyguitar6639 Yeap, not very good writing, a bit woke, well it had what felt like forced box ticking race lines, Taggarts character totally different till the very end and Rosewood wasn’t in it till the last 20 minutes. The story between Axel and his daughter was just bland and dull compared to the previous films with Rosewood and Taggart and Axel only.
@@marksapollo Yeah.I had the same feeling about the box ticking. Also they tried recreating the car chase from the first movie, only with a snow plow. Which was lame. The in the first was realistic i the team that they were chasing through narrow alleys.
In this one there are actually a couple of scenes were you can see Axel actually swerving to hit parked cars etc. Just to make it more action packed.
waaay better than 3
Doubt it
@@robertpreston2220 only 1 way to find out... also you know I said 3, right?
@@TheOriginalCaptainTrips To this day I don't get why people either outright hate BHC 3 or they'll say "it doesn't exist" or some moronic thing like that. Ok, it's not as good as 1 and 2, obviously. It's still not terrible, and has some good comedy and I thought the action was serviceable at least. Just because Eddie Murphy hates it (or, doesn't like it let's say) doesn't mean other people can't like it or even enjoy it. It's the same with Alien Resurrection or other similar sequels.
@@LordLOC weird 'cause it seems like you are arguing to have your personal good opinion of BHC 3... when I am originally posting my personal opinion on my distaste for BHC 3. I mean it's in your own words just trailed off. "...doesn't mean other people can't like it or even enjoy it." or not enjoy it
@@TheOriginalCaptainTrips It's just the over use of the word hate in regards to certain movies. While BHC 3 isn't as good as the first two (and some argue 2 sucked, but that's another story) is BHC 3 THAT bad, compared to say, Pluto Nash or Ford Farlane? Movies that are objectively bad. But then again, objectively is subjective in this regard also, as there are people who enjoy Pluto Nash or Ford Farlane lol
You almost made me dislike this video, bringing up Trigger Warning 😂.
I wasnt this positive after it finnished. I would give it a C, tops. The music was still great of course. In my opinion there was too many call back and they were easily the worst parts of the movie. The new characters worked much better.
I'd give it a B-, just to see Eddy back was great. Call backs did get a bit obnoxious, but it's expected.
Nope, 3 was better. This was terrible
Lie
Respectfully disagree. "III" had some cool moments but too much of it didn't feel like a "Beverly Hills Cop" movie, plus the scene of Axel saving the kids from falling to their deaths from the malfunctioning ride felt super uncomfortable to watch given who directed it.
Jeffery this is none of your fucking business!!
This is not my locker
