Yeah, my guy is a rescue who was out on the street for his first 8 months, so he is just not as social and affectionate. Trying to bring him out though!
I rescued two feral cats in 2020 and we now have an amazing bond - all it takes is lots of time spent with them, playing and training are the best things and I do them daily. Once you bond through these active activities, they will bring their affection to you. And it takes time, one of my cats has just started exhibiting new affectionate behaviour this month (after we moved house, weirdly). And above all, respect your cats - if they don’t want to do something, don’t make them do it. Treat them like a human in that respect.
My Bengal loved going on walks. He was a natural, I didn’t have to “train” him at all. He was patient while putting on the harness from day one. He acted like this cat in the video, a naturally great cat.
Yes The Bengal's Super intelligence is why this is Easier to do with our Bengals. Mine Started bringing her Rope Toy to Me to play tug of War & Fetch on her own. Very Shocking ! I got her in May as 2 Mo old kitten it's Now October so She's Still young. Constantly is showing how Smart She is !
A great recall command other than calling your cat's name, I learned from the show "cats vs dogs" is "Touch". So when I want my cat to come over to to me within grabbing distance, I say "Touch" and he runs over to me, and physically touches his nose to my hand. Then I click and give him a treat. It's really super helpful if I need to scoop him up quickly in an emergency, or if he were to get out of his harness. (That's why I also keep his backpack nearby)
I have a Tile Tracker and the app on my phone. We walk in the backyard, which is fenced and has lots of flower beds. When I loose site of him I set off the Tile which is on his harness. When he hears it he comes to me. What a good boy!
Wish I had seen your video before I took my cat out.. Ever since the first time I put on a harness and went out with her on the grass outside she panicked so hard. I thought sitting with her in the grass for a while might eventually calm her but it didn't and I gave up and went in again. She never had problems with the harness indoors and didn't care much about it but the moment the door opened she got terrified, screaming and I could never go outside with her again.. I moved too quickly and ruined it completely. She died two months ago at the age of 12, she is soo missed and I wish I could have experienced the outdoors with her
I needed this i have a 6 month old bengal kitten and I want to leash train her. She hates the harness and wont even keep a collar on. She really is a fiesty kitty absolutely adorable and a very typical bengal. Its good to see how well trained yours is ❤
In my country cats are either inside or outside. Most have them as outside cats. But me and my bf live on the second floor so its a bit difficult but we want them to be able to go outside. So far our little boy is always begging to go outside but our little girl is just observe
My cat runs to the door when I say “ outside- on a leash” -in a question form!! She loves outside- I put her on a 32 ft leash so she can roam further away from me. I shorten it as needed.
I am very glad I'm not the only person who takes my exotic cat for walks. People always give me strange looks when I walk her at night 😂 That being said, these tips were very helpful, thank you!
They are very good at escaping like you said, and I was sure of it, but I wanted to get my cat some vitamin c from the sun. Its healthy cuz she doesn't have much energy and gets sick on and off. (Yeah, I'll be going for a vet visit.) Busy street, she darted, the leash pulled back, and she fought the leash by facing ME, which snugged it off. Luckily I was able to find her and grabbed her and put her back in the house. She is an elderly cat not food motivated and set in her ways, so that about does it for outside chances lol.
How can it be that i only found this channel now? this is awesome, i love how you treat your cat and how you care for her well being, and the well being of other cats by sharing your video's and everything! Im so glad i've found your channel, thank you for just existing, people like you, that really truly care about animals, restore a bit of my faith in humans. So thank you.
I gave my 2.5 month-old kitten a day to get used to the harness and when I tried it on he didn't fuss at all. I bought a pet sling bag and put him in it in the harness and leash and brought him to the park (Central Park in my case). I mostly kept him in the bag to start and when I found a nice spot I'd take him out and let him explore a bit. I'd walk away 10-20 feet and let him come to me (he would get scared when I got far enough away and then come running to me). I'd put him back in the bag again and repeat. Eventually I worked up to actually walking him for a few feet at a time. I would find wooden railings and let him walk those. Six weeks later and he's gotten really good at walking in the park. I let him lead the way until he wants to go into the thickets or some other place I don't want to go. He jumped into the pond last week and I had to yank him out.
i had an F1 bobcat hybrid kitten, i trained her to the whistle(hand and verbal as well), she was very good at knowing the different whistles(only a few) over calling her and it was easier.
@elizabethhearn6085. Bengals & Bengal Crosses are Quite Special. Be Careful how you Discipline your Bengal Starting with a Young one will allow you to Train and Not use as much discipline. When my Bengal-Tabby acts up I take her to the coat closet for a time out it calms her down usually 10-15 minutes Does the Trick. This video has been EXTREMELY helpful, as have all of your others! I'm working on clicker training. My cat Momo is 9 months old. She understands finger target, sit, and we're working on spin. I've also been feeding her every meal on my shoulder (that one was an absolute pro tip, working great). Sometimes she doesn't come when called or will ignore my finger target. Point 8 in this vid was really interesting. I find myself repeating commands over and over sometimes. Do you have anymore tips about how I can best motivate her to listen after one cue? I bought a harness and am preparing to take her outside, but I'm really nervous that if she escapes the harness, she won't come when called and she might get hurt. Thanks so much for your time! Please keep making videos! These are the best I've seen on training, and I've seen A LOT!
Thank you so much for taking a minute to share some love! This kind of messages keep me going! Regarding your question. There's no way you are going to know if your cat will come when called if they eventually get off leash, but there are things you can do to prevent that from happening. - Train your cat to be comfortable on the harness - Train yourself to understand when your cat is trying to get off the harness. It's pretty obvious and you can prevent it just by walking towards them. - Start slow in places where you can control the environment (home/building/parking lot) Lastly, despite I won't say this is 100% certain, cat's are not a hit and run animal. If they escape, they will most likely either climb a tree, sniff something they missed while walking or check out a hole. They are both predator and prey and their way to explore new territory is with caution. So you won't see yourself running after a cat (unless they actively want to prevent you from catching them). If they escape, take it easy. Let them do their thing and approach once they are done. If you run towards them, they are going to sense that freedom is over and run from you.
@@OutdoorBengal I'll keep all that in mind. Will definitely start somewhere where risks are low. I don't think Momo would want to get too far from me even if she did get out of her harness but just want to take all the precautions I can. Thanks so much!
I've had this common medium hair european cat for almost 2 years which is basically it's age, and it's never been outside except for the veterinary. He's very active and he very obviously wants to go outside, so I want to start walking him. I'm kinda lost about it so this vid with some others helped me a lot ^^
Hi! I heard that lifting cat out the door everytime when leaving the house (and make them wait for it) enchaces them not leaving the house or escaping on their own
What was Mia first reaction when you took out ? And how long did it take her to get really comfortable outdoors ? Was she crying or stress or even refused walking out ? Did she ever jumped on you to have comfort when putting her out ?
My rescue uses a harness to go out because she can't go in a carrier. I let her walk around the RV we lived in to get used to the feeling, and gave treats and affection. We went from NY to FL and all over the state. She traveled on the very deep dashboard.
@@jturtle5318 my cat is the same, he despises carriers but his calm and content on just a leash and harness. I always thought he hated car rides but no it was just the carrier.
I have a bengal kitten too and he’s struggling going outside because he’s scared whenever people are around. I will try the tips from your vids and hope he soon gets used to the idea of wearing a harness. 😅
Great video, thanks for these tips! Please be careful with the retractable leash, have heard of so many severe injuries caused by them. One wouldn't think it can do damage, but it can. Take care.
you can get them where the line is flat an tape shaped thick fabric like instead of the thing line that'll burn skin or if it gets tangled around a leg it can snap the bone if something pulls
Thanks for this, I might have to try it. I was adopted by a young tuxedo male, but then another, older, barnyard cat came up and became increasingly aggressive to the tuxedo over the years. Sweetheart with me, but LOATHES other cats. Had to pen the older in a cat house (all the amenities and the lion's share of my free time, yet the one time he escaped he went straight for the tuxedo and started a fight.) Drives me crazy, but would like to keep him from getting cabin fever. A leash and trips around the block might be the ticket.
My rescue was a partly outdoor cat, and I only take her out with a harness because she has a meltdown in a carrier. She got used to crawling around the car on a leash going to the vet. The neighbor's kids loved taking her out for "walks", which consist of following her around the yard.
Thank you for these tips! I have been walking my cat around my neighbourhood. She is usually allowed to be outdoors during the day but has to be indoors at night. We walk her when the sun is setting so that she can still explore during those prime sunset hours but in a safe manner with us. We are hoping to eventually transition her to be an indoor cat but I feel that she will definitely whine a lot to go out - she still whines at night to go out even after walking and play time. How often does Mia go for walks?
Thank you very much for this! I have two questions on the outdoors, would love your opinion: 1- My vet doesn't recommend going out with the cat as he might contract worms or parasite when on the street. How do you prevent this? 2- How do you behave in the event of encountering stray cats or dogs on a leash? Can they interact and "be friends"? Thank you very much again for your contents :)
I know this question is for Albert but for 1 my vet just said don’t take the cat out. That being said cats can be taken out for walks on a leash but I believe cats with outdoor access need to be dewormed more frequently. I found that on google. I have not trained mine to go out yet.
#1 Feed & Water your Cat just before going out. This will make it far less Likely it Will try to Taste Something Which Could cause Worms. #2 Remember Stray animals are unpredictable they're not Pets so Friendly Encounters aren't likely. But Dogs & Cats on Leashes are different because most owners give them Socialization Training & Reward them for Friendly Interaction When Encountering other pets
I’d strongly recommend you keep trying as it’s fantastic 😀 my 7 month old Bengal loves her daily walks, it’s so enriching for them to get out and explore. Buy a clicker for training and be very patient. Xx
Thank you so much! I don't think I'll get to 1 million but I'd love to gather enough people to make taking our cats outdoors mainstream :) I'm taking seriously normalizing that cats can go on adventures as well! ☺
It was extremely difficult to tackle all the questions in just one video so, please, feel free to leave any additional question you might have in the comments! :)
YAYYY! Incoming cat!! :) I would try to avoid training any cat under 12weeks as they can get overwhelmed easier. If the cat you are taking hoome is older than that, you can start training as soon as your cat is comfortable around the place and around you. Consider trainin as "play time" or "bonding time", keep sessions short and sweet and start with tricks that are easy and rewardinng for both your new companion and yourself (Finger Targetting or Come When Called are a good start). - Come When Called - ruclips.net/video/bdjEKMsKZ-M/видео.html - Finger Targetting - ruclips.net/video/ZQ0ITyonFxg/видео.html Good luck!
How do you get the cat to follow you when walking. Our cat will walk on her own, but not follow us, and I feel like you really gloss over that part in your videos.
I bought a tied own strap, its very long, broad and light, that way I can let it go and let him explore without me holding it and it doesn't get tangled, and I can see where he is if disappearing under a bush and pick it up easily without getting too close which can make him run to not be caught. Doing this over two years, I can now take him for walks around the common grounds without clipping the lead on, I just walk with him and he knows when I say no if he wants to go somewhere he shouldnt. Great fun.
Recently arrived from the WCF exhibition from Chelyabinsk on February 21, 22, 2021. We also filmed our Bengal cat Trishka. Come as a guest I will be grateful for the subscription
@@OutdoorBengal We won the WCF Champion title very well. Now you can breed kittens. We received the approval of all the judges. The qualification was completed. We always recommend each other who has good kittens. We go to the exhibition together. Many people know want a good Bengal kitten is in the Mound.
I had the biggest scare last month when my cat escaped from his harness in our garden. Watching your video, I realise now that I was not prepared, I did not train him well enough so he was not well ready too. Thank you very much, I learn now my lessons and the mistakes. Next step, I am watching the training tip video. PS: your cat is very beautifull.
Só much information! I hope I can do this with mine even tho they are over 2 years old...I fell like maybe they should not be allowed to walk around by themselves for this to work..but mine do during the day...I do not worry much because they always come back by the end of the day and they come when I call by name...
When I got my various cats they were already indoor/outdoor (they were mostly malnourished strays). 3 out of 6 I was able to leash train and take them on little excursions with me. But leashing them in their own backyard just bred resentment between us. They weren't having it. Going on a forest hike or a farm visit with me, the leash was no big deal. That was the "price" of travel and they gladly accepted it. The other 3 never enjoyed leaving home territory very much so I didn't push it.
Your advice is so helpful! I adopted my Bengal boy today and can't wait to get started with him so I can take him out for walks outside eventually. There's this long and wide corrider on the same floor that I think will make a nice indoor practice space for leash training. :)

Heyy I loved your video! It was super helpful… I am currently trying to train my cat and you guys are a great insipiration. I wanted to ask you something … you said we should waste the command like “come here” as they may feel like they can ignore us. But how can we pull on the leash and enforce the behavior!m? Would you pull the cat or I mean how would you make them do it in the best way?
When I first walked my dog, he was scared of everything, too. Just like the cat, the cap will get over it, just like the dog will. My cat's not here to know sounds it'll walk by a diesel truck.Eighteen willer ain't afraid of it
i never thought a cat could learn "sit" until my cat did it. when i get the treats out he starts getting excited so i tell him to sit and he does it every time! he also fetches like a dog so maybe my cat isn't a cat after all.. 🤣 edit: i posted this comment right as he said "your cat is not a dog" and it scared me a little lol
Spend as much time with your Cat God. Talk to Them as much as possible also. Clicker training is PARAMOUNT... The bond you WILL make is PRICELESS!!!!!!!!🐾
My boyfriend and I want to be able to take our cat to go on hikes. We think he'd really enjoy it in the long run. He used to have a sizable backyard to go run around in and now he just had a very very small balcony. How can we get him okay with both the harness and car rides? How do we get him to have the right associations? It's also fall here. It'll get into winter soon enough. Smokey is actually relatively okay with snow so long as it's not melting. How can we dress him? Thanks so much!
Sounds like dog training lol ❤️ I’ve been doing my best to train my dog. But cats always have my interest and training cats is very interesting and awesome imo. Same way-ish. But completely different animal.
Hello I was wondering what harness would be best for a medium size British shorthair? My cat is super naughty but he is curious about outside I believe because he regularly looks out of the window. I would love a harness that supports his discoveries and safety! Thanks.
I am happy that some people can do this. Never never never would I try this with Lilly. hahahahaha I brought her outside one day and she and the neighbor scare each other. Lilly saw her and she saw how big Lilly was and they both ran. It was so funny. Lilly is very very long. Mia is such a pretty cat.
That's really great, already answered a lot of my questions! I wonder how much time on average would an outdoor walk be given that my cat is reeeally curious and playful 😂?
This will really depend on your cat's excitement and yours. Anything below 20min it's almost not worth it (because it takes time for them to start relaxing and enjoying) so between 20min until their stress, boredome, hunger kicks in (or yours). In quiet places I easily do between 1hour or 2hours. In the city, never above 30min because she gets nervous.
Not just keeping your cat safe from predators. Keeping your cat from harming local wildlife is equally important as well. Failure to do so just brings down the name of cat owners.
Maybe it's a culture thing, but we don't really leash-train our cats (we live in the Netherlands). Our cat's (we got them from a shelter when they were just a months old) know exactly where their (our) house is. In the summer we keep the door open and they just walk in and out. But when we call them inside for the night, most of the nights they come running. Some times they don't because they don't hear us calling, but eventually (when the sun goes down) they just come back home. In the winter they come as soon as it starts getting dark outside. When you keep them inside for the first two months when you get them, then take a few walks in your garden or neighborhood, they probably won't get lost. Most cats (I know some that do) don't really like to explore the world and leave their 'easy' home with love and food. At least, that's my experience. But as I said, it could be a culture thing. I really love your video's tho! The cats we have now are getting to old and lazy to really start traveling with, but the newest addition to the family will definitively get leash-trained.
I don't let my cat out, cats kill so many birds. My brother built a "catio" on my sister's window, so her indoor cats can lay in the sun and watch birds without getting near the road or railroad track. They love it.
I live in the netherlands and dont want my cat to run around free. I know so much people that lost their cat because it got hit by a car. Soon or later it will happen. And I have a expensive cat aswell. It will get stolen for sure.
Free roaming is irresponsible. There are so many dangers outside, and the life expectance is way lower for outdoor cats. Its not a cultural thing, leash walking a cat is a neash topic in every country (sadly).
Hi Albert and Mia! I just love your channel and your advice. Puko started in a harness and walking Amsterdam at 5 months. Question: What Happens If you are out walking and your cat has a panic moment? How do you handle correcting it? If something does frighten them do you pick them up and cuddle? Do you sit and face the fear? Just curious as Puko walks fine, but we have bottle recycling bins in Amsterdam and it never fails they are either being emptied or being filled and that noise terrifies Puko. First time almost lost him out of his harness, but sat him down and calmly put it back on and then carried him. Now he just leaps up my back, but then doesn't want to walk anymore. Just wondering how to calm him for anything that comes up scary on the walk! 🐈👍🌷
Hello!! That's a really good point and I do struggle with it as well. When Mia freaks out, depending on the reason I behave differently. If it's a real threat (DOG) I will help/make her jump on my shoulder seeking protection. If it's a car / person / noise I'll make her sit down and relax on her own. Once she is sat, I'll reward. (To reward Puko outdoors, any treat won't work. You need something Puko get's crazy for. In Mia's case it's either jam or raw turkey). If I see her getting calmer and curious again, I'll restart walk. I hope this helps!
@@PukosPorch Did you ever consider taking a pet backpack with you? That would be helpful in scary situations and also in crowded places or with dogs, and also perfect if your cat gets tired of walking.
This is so helpful! I have a very hyper active kitten and I’m starting to train him. He can sit already but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to teach him to stay. When i have him sit he charges the treat so i have to hold him back and then he thinks he’s not suppose to have the treat when i tell him it’s ok. He’s 6 months old. Is he too young to learn this yet?

Hi! I'm learning a lot from your channel. I noticed that Mia is wearing an Amogato harness in the intro. Which is better the Amogato or the Escape Proof Harness?
Hello!! I stopped using Amogato as it goes through the head and it scratches their upper eyes area (specially sensible) and it was provoking some hair loss on Mia. I’d 100% go for the escape proof instead ☺️
Gracias a ti por tomarte un minuto de tu tiempo para compartir un poco de amor y agradecimiento... detalles como este hacen que siga queriendo crear contenido! :)
Can two cats be walked at once? I want to harness train my two new cats over the winter so they can go outside next summer. My husband and I have a big yard that is safe from busy human traffic and predators with trails through a wooded area. But I don't know if it's a good idea to bring them both out at the same time, or stuck to only one at a time.
What do you suggest for a harness for a 6 month old kitten, this will be her 1st time wearing it, and I definitely want it to be ESCAPE PRROF for sure as I live in a busy neighborhood
Hi I need an advice. Last week I was walking my cat on a leash. She got scared from a sound and started runing, the leash didnt let her but then she completely freaked out and scrach me when i picked her up. How to prevent this again and should I even walk her? Thanks.
My rescue tabby cat is not treat-oriented and will not eat them other than Churu. It's hard to work with when training skills. Should I use his kibble? He also is not fond of being picked up and as soon as I tighten my hands on his back and chest he freaks out with all fours and hides under the bed.
I'm sitting with my harnessed cat staring through the open door. How long should I do this for ? Should I position her closer to the door so she goes out? She is an outdoor cat who I'm having to domesticate due to a dog atack
I’m confused when you should use a lightweight harness, like the teal/green one Mia wears. It seems like it would be an easier kind to acclimate a new cat to before an escape-proof harness, but an escape-proof harness sounds like a good choice if your cat is new to being outside on a harness.
You just said it. The thing is that safe harnesses are uncomfortable but comfortable harnesses are not safe. I'm designing my own harness (it will be available at www.outdoorbengal.com) but until then, if your cat doesn't like harnesses, it's best to start with a light one at home and transition to a safe one when you first go out. Then back to the light one... Hope that makes sense.
I am training my 6 months old cat and I have noticed that when we are out he is scared, on alert all the time and tries to get away. I am in two minds whether I should persevere as he is very young, or stop as he might hate it. What can I do to reassure him and help him when he is out?
My cat is 7.5kg, a big boy, I can never find a harness big enough. He once got his leg through the shoulder strap and got stuck, I couldn't get him out easily. So I sewed Velcro as a collar so can release quickly. Every harness I have to adapt. The distance from collar to belly strap along his back needs to be longer, girth longer, really difficult to find something to fit..
I am working on desigining a harness for cats that would be great for your big boy. I would recommend you to go to our website www.outdoorbengal.com and subscribe to our mailing list so you are notified when the harness is available.
well, BUT if they're behind you and they get spooked, THAT's how they slip out of a collar--a cat can duck his head and he's free. being ahead, while TOO significantly ahead is a bad thing, is better than being behind, esp in place where surprises can pop out around buildings or bushes or rocks or whatever.
I have a small harness that he just wares as his collar he doesn't mind it at all i like how it's small but he has never escaped and when i put it on him for the first time he had no issues with it just went about playing. He never plays with his leash but plays with all his other toys that I've bought in colors that they can see better blue or yellow. His leash is white but i digressed completely lol my question is it bad to keep the harness on all the time?

Oh my god same
I rescued two feral cats in 2020 and we now have an amazing bond - all it takes is lots of time spent with them, playing and training are the best things and I do them daily.

Luckily I was able to find her and grabbed her and put her back in the house. She is an elderly cat not food motivated and set in her ways, so that about does it for outside chances lol.

Im so glad i've found your channel, thank you for just existing, people like you, that really truly care about animals, restore a bit of my faith in humans. So thank you.
Thanks so much for the kind words! Wishing you the best in the journey! :)
Thanks for such great tips! I've trained lots of dogs but never a cat. I appreciate you taking time to help!
Lol my cat is obsessed with going outside 😹 before I came across your channel I was actually trying to get him out of the habit of wanting to go out.
i had an F1 bobcat hybrid kitten, i trained her to the whistle(hand and verbal as well), she was very good at knowing the different whistles(only a few) over calling her and it was easier.
Great video! Ill be getting a young bengal cat in 2 weeks and im nervous about training it properly 😅
Thanks so much for taking a minute to share some appreciation! :) These kind of comments keep me going! ☺
@elizabethhearn6085. Bengals & Bengal Crosses are Quite Special. Be Careful how you Discipline your Bengal Starting with a Young one will allow you to Train and Not use as much discipline. BTW Bengals are Quite Affectionate and seem to openly Express it.ore in Many Ways. STAR is my First Bengal but I've Had Many Cats over 61 yrs of life. Star is Far More affectionate than any other cat I've y had !
Thanks for the tips, gonna start this leash journey soon!
- Train your cat to be comfortable on the harness
- Train yourself to understand when your cat is trying to get off the harness. It's pretty obvious and you can prevent it just by walking towards them.
- Start slow in places where you can control the environment (home/building/parking lot)
Lastly, despite I won't say this is 100% certain, cat's are not a hit and run animal.
My cats name is momo too ! Is yours from avatar? Mine is bc she looks just like him lol
Why would you want your cat to spin? Don’t be ridiculous! Focus on what matters instead of silly dog tricks.
@@GreenWitch1Respectfully, mind your own business, Michele.
I've had this common medium hair european cat for almost 2 years which is basically it's age, and it's never been outside except for the veterinary. He's very active and he very obviously wants to go outside, so I want to start walking him. I'm kinda lost about it so this vid with some others helped me a lot ^^
Hi! I heard that lifting cat out the door everytime when leaving the house (and make them wait for it) enchaces them not leaving the house or escaping on their own
That's a very good idea, and also stops them from getting their tail caught in the door when you close it.
Love your enthusiasm! And thank you for all the helpful cat contents.
Thanks so much for taking a minute to share some appreciation! :)
Really great tips. I am thinking of taking my newly adopted cat out for Walkies…as I live in a flat. Great video. Thank you👍🏼
Glad it was helpful!
Ill be getting a baby male bengal in 1 week these is so helpfull to star doing since day 1 🙌🏻
AWWWW! Yes! The earlier the better!
I would have like to see this video a few years ago! I am definitly going to try to apply these advices now.
I have a bengal kitten too and he’s struggling going outside because he’s scared whenever people are around. I will try the tips from your vids and hope he soon gets used to the idea of wearing a harness. 😅
Good luck with that!
Cat Carrier gave her PTSD due to Reminding her if initial Capture & Loss of Freedom
I trained my cat outside with the harness and leash it took me 3 months now he’s a pro👍 he even listens to me
Thank you for these tips!
Top info!
Me leading the walk was valuable info. I always wanted kit upfront but how would he know where I was heading. Smart when u think about it
Thank you very much for this! I have two questions on the outdoors, would love your opinion:
1- My vet doesn't recommend going out with the cat as he might contract worms or parasite when on the street.
Get a new vet! That’s ridiculous. How are they going to get worms walking outside?
#1 Feed & Water your Cat just before going out. This will make it far less Likely it Will try to Taste Something Which Could cause Worms. #2 Remember Stray animals are unpredictable they're not Pets so Friendly Encounters aren't likely. But Dogs & Cats on Leashes are different because most owners give them Socialization Training & Reward them for Friendly Interaction When Encountering other pets
Please post more often!! I’m trying to train my kitten to get used to his harness then train walking him so he can go to the beach with me and explore
Thank you!! What kind of content would you like to see more often?
I’d strongly recommend you keep trying as it’s fantastic 😀 my 7 month old Bengal loves her daily walks, it’s so enriching for them to get out and explore. Buy a clicker for training and be very patient. Xx
Keep going my man, 1 million followers in January 2022 if you keep posting this videos every week👏👏👏👏👏 Great job!!!!!!
Thank you so much! I don't think I'll get to 1 million but I'd love to gather enough people to make taking our cats outdoors mainstream :) I'm taking seriously normalizing that cats can go on adventures as well! ☺
Love that your channel is growing! Very helpful tips!!! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Yeah! The acceptance has been A LOT better than anticipated! I'm so happy! :)
It was extremely difficult to tackle all the questions in just one video so, please, feel free to leave any additional question you might have in the comments! :)
Once again a great and well informed video 👌🏼
When should you start training a cat after you bring them home? I'm getting a new cat soon and was wondering when to start
- Come When Called - ruclips.net/video/bdjEKMsKZ-M/видео.html
- Finger Targetting - ruclips.net/video/ZQ0ITyonFxg/видео.html
Good luck!
How do you get the cat to follow you when walking. Our cat will walk on her own, but not follow us, and I feel like you really gloss over that part in your videos.
How do you get your cat to follow you so well?
I bought a tied own strap, its very long, broad and light, that way I can let it go and let him explore without me holding it and it doesn't get tangled, and I can see where he is if disappearing under a bush and pick it up easily without getting too close which can make him run to not be caught. Doing this over two years, I can now take him for walks around the common grounds without clipping the lead on, I just walk with him and he knows when I say no if he wants to go somewhere he shouldnt. Great fun.
What size of leash do you use with Mia? There are three sizes on the Amazon link - Small, Medium, and Large. I have a 6-month old domestic shorthair.
I got the smaller one as it’s more convenient (traveling or sticking into a pocket). Regarding length. specially for training, the longer the better!
Recommend a flexi cord leash size S with 8 m length.
Recently arrived from the WCF exhibition from Chelyabinsk on February 21, 22, 2021. We also filmed our Bengal cat Trishka. Come as a guest I will be grateful for the subscription

That is amazing! Outdoor cats are happy! It can be dangerous for them and for the local fauna but your cats are definetely happy cats :)
@JMB You can also train older cats. It depends on your bond and trust. But not every cat is an adventurer. Please keep that in your mind.
Good luck!! That sounds like a great place to start!

Ur bond is so special, keep it up!
I wish I could hire you in New York to help me train my new Bengal Kitten. I want to take him on adventures!
How do you avoid having Mia tangled in tree branches and bushes? This is my greatest concern for my cat.
I just don’t let her get too deep into any bush..!
If it happens you have to let go the leash. Better never let your cat climbing up too far. You should always be able to reach her.
Never let your cat climb trees while on the leash unless youre ok letting go of them.if need be
You are soooo close to your cat I wish I have that relationship with mine
Thanks for the info and the warnings of the mistakes

Hello I was wondering what harness would be best for a medium size British shorthair? My cat is super naughty but he is curious about outside I believe because he regularly looks out of the window. I would love a harness that supports his discoveries and safety! Thanks.
i love ur vids rlly helpful thx :D

Good day, I always watch your blog regarding your bengal, I have bengal too,
Nice! What’s their name?
" ...ask them to sit and stay" it is that it is shown to be possible in the video, but is not a general treat of cats that it obeys .
I am happy that some people can do this. Never never never would I try this with Lilly. hahahahaha I brought her outside one day and she and the neighbor scare each other. Lilly saw her and she saw how big Lilly was and they both ran. It was so funny. Lilly is very very long. Mia is such a pretty cat.
hahahaha yeah... cat interactions can be tricky! Merry Christmas!
Thankyou very helpful!!
I love your videos. So helpful. My bengal kitten is going to be with me next week 😍
Nice video! Thanks for the tips, going to try walking Felix soon! Also I noticed your accent, just wanted to ask, are you from Catalonia?
@@OutdoorBengal That makes sense. We will try. I think making it a special treat outdoors is a great tip! So that is my first action! 🐈👍
No he’s not. Cats take a lot of patience. They’re nothing like dogs. Repetition is the key.

Hello! What cat is suggested for it to want to go outside and to show affection thank you ❤
Would you say all cats at any age can be taught to walk with a harness? Or are there certain situations where you'd say it's best not to do it?
Can two cats be walked at once? I want to harness train my two new cats over the winter so they can go outside next summer. My husband and I have a big yard that is safe from busy human traffic and predators with trails through a wooded area. But I don't know if it's a good idea to bring them both out at the same time, or stuck to only one at a time.
Excellent video thanks 😊
Glad you found it helpful!!
This was sooo helpful thank you!
Love your videos! Could you make a video on how to get your cat comfortable in the car?
Great idea! Will post it next week! Thank you!
My recommendation is to keep sessions short and sweet. Try to find places where they feel more comfortable. A quiet place, your balcony or terrace...
