Thanks! I cant say it didn't have a little bit of a learning curve at first, but once you get the hang of it its one of the easier CAD applications I've used. Start to finish real time it took me 18 minutes to CAD up that part for this video!
That's a really good question and honestly I thought the same thing as you did when I upgraded my Dakota years ago but in practice it doesn't really matter. You have a greater / more even clamping force with more pistons, you still have the increased leverage due to the larger rotor diameter as well, and you still add substantial thermal capacity with the larger rotor which is ultimately more important. Even looking at the OEM 2 piston Cobra brake setup it only uses about 60% of the available rotor surface as well. You can quickly reach the point of diminishing returns where you could spend 4x the money on a bigger caliper but will not even see close to a few % of improvement.
thank you for this video!!! I've been thinking of doing the brake swap on my 90 super coupe for awhile and this helped so much! I've been following you for awhile since info on our cars are so limited. Keep up the awesome work and I'll definitely interested in a set if they become available.
Thanks for the comment and support! I definitely plan to put these on my supercoupe, its a bit lame on the early supercoupes like ours that we need to swap knuckles to do brake swaps though. I thought about a cobra brake setup its fairly affordable but our cars are bigger and heavier than a Mustang, we need more brake. Are you planning to keep the 5x4.25" bolt circle or changing to the mustang 5x4.5" pattern on your SC? Once I test these brackets fully I can probably sell some!
@@PowershiftFactory I'm planning on keeping the 5x4.25 bolt pattern. This past weekend I was lucky enough to find 20" wheels in our bolt pattern. I'll be more than willing to buy brackets for sure.
Amazing video bro!!!! It would be cool if these brackets were available for sale along with the following part numbers to complete the kit. This would sell big time. Thank you for the video I really appreciate it. Good luck homie 👍🏼✌🏼
Thanks for the comment! I party did this just to prove I could and because it ends up being cheaper and better than other options on the market! Once I get it installed and tested on my Supercoupe I'll definitely look into having them available, if nothing else this part can be used on several of the cars we have in the shop!
You make Fusion 360 look so easy!

Thank you for the video and the excellent explanation
Glad you liked it, I hope it was useful for you!
Great video but the brake pad surface area on the disc looks around 60% they don't look big enough to make use of huge Disc upgrade???
