    All of the current Lisbon Metro rolling stock was built in the Sorefame/Bombardier factory in Amadora, Portugal, from 1991 to 2002. Sorefame closed in 2005 after being acquired by Bombardier in 2001. The trains contain a lot of Siemens equipment, including the motors, which certainly explains why they sound just like the R160 with Siemens motors.

      It also sounds fairly similar to the GE 5GEB motors used by Breda in the United States (Washington, DC’s defunct 1000 Series post-rehabilitation and Los Angeles’ Breda A650s). Although the GE motors are/were significantly higher-pitched than these Siemens motors.

      Sonic 57053 Kinda, R160B uses the modern IGBT-VVVF Siemens traction motors compared to the old GTO-VVVF or thyristor motors

    • @SyedDanielProductions_YT
      @SyedDanielProductions_YT 6 лет назад +2

      Sonic 57053 IGBT-VVVF is much more reliable and energy saving compared to GTO motors which tends to breakdown often and the maintenance costs to maintain these old GTO motors are costly compared to IGBT-VVVF traction motors

    FanRailer, I think you should record the Metro of CDMX. Some of the fleets are very nice, and a few of the lines, believe it or not, run on wheels. Go to Mexico City please!!!!!

      Hotters 7060
      .
      The aluminium casing was calculated to last for 30 years.
      Nearly half of the floors were empty. Even years before the incident they started renting out the floors for computing centers and storage rooms.
      Port Authorities were more than happy they could get rid of the towers and handed them over to Silverstein Properties.
      So after the demolition no serious business man would have rebuilded WTC 1 and WTC 2 in the identical way.

      Portugal drove on the left until 1928 (why Macau still does) and mainline trains still drive on the left (similar situation to France, Mainland China, Italy and Sweden. The planners were exploring the possibility of a connection with the rail system?

      Lisbon has a small system but it has 4 lines, has expanded greatly in the last 12 years and has some of the prettiest stations of any metro I've ever seen. The Portuguese understand esthetics and the importance of public art. Lots of love for Lisbon!

    • @nunovski20011
      @nunovski20011 4 года назад +4

      Lisbon Metro has absolutely NOTHING to do with either Madrid or Barcelona, in which the stations are basically clones of one another. Maybe you'd change your mind if you actually looked at some photos and videos of this system.
