      @@troyhayder6986 Did you not even look at the video? clearly you can actually see them make some good speed there they have slower speed limits for when in the city center obviously they share the road with pedestrians and traffic... I doubt you can run 70kmh trains and trams are supposed to keep to the speed limits unless the signal says otherwise its not like driving a car where you can drive under the speed limit for whatever reason you want they have to keep schedule

    I wonder why the end bogies swivel out from the faring on a curve but the center ones do not...

    • @royreynolds108
      @royreynolds108 8 лет назад +3

      It has to do with where the trucks or bogies are located. There are four to each tram; one each about 1/3 the distance of each end section and the second and forth section are the bogies. Carefully watch under the fairing.

      I think they're made by Alstom but maintained by Citidas. Or something. Certainly the destination word on the front changes to Courier Citidas when the tram is out of order.

    • @TheColorfulPube
      @TheColorfulPube 7 лет назад +1

      They used to have hundreds of these type of things in NYC but they ripped them all out. Big mistake. At least they're gonna build one along the waterfront in Brooklyn and Queens soon.

    • @litolito1893
      @litolito1893 7 лет назад

      TheColorfulPub....the only problem with bringing these to Brooklyn & Queen is that it will interfere with parking which is a major issue now, especially with the Citibike program.

      Let me explain why they were torn out here 1 they where street running. 2. Since they were street running they could only go the speed limit which is the same is it would be on a bus. 3. if a tram or trolley had a problem there would either be no way around it or a massive detour would be necessary. So it would be very inefficient to run trams here.

    • @qwertyTRiG
      @qwertyTRiG 7 лет назад +1

      dbkoob nyc Part of the beauty of tram systems is that they can run on the street where they have to, and off when they can. The Luas is mostly off street, but not entirely. As such, it functions somewhat between a bus and a train.

      C Lo But if you think Dublin's trams are beautiful, you should see the ones in Reims.
