This is cool I never seen Ireland before

Thanks!!
you should do more videos on train lines around the world.
Pretty interesting how Ireland trains look
Plenty of action at the platform alright - pity there's not quite the same action in government circles regarding rail investment. We are still await the DART Inter-connector Tunnel while Dublin grinds to a halt. Irish Rail are itching to get on with it, but the government won't invest and now the National Transport Authority are devising a half arsed scaled down version - this is the same crowed that want traffic left lanes/slips gone and traffic lanes narrowed to 3m - even for buses!
I'm just wondering, are all the Irish locomotives and DMU's derived from British locomotives and DMU's?
That's certainly what it seems like!
Err, no, certainly not the more modern classes. The 22000 class is South Korean, with Japanese bogies, while the DART electric units are Japanese built. The loco hauled sets the 22000’s replaced were based on BR mark 3 coaches. The coaches of the Enterprise are built by De Dietrich (now Alstom) in France, while the class 201 locos were built by GM in Canada.
Really? To me the 22000 class looks like a Class 170, and the Class 201 looks like a class 67, which are both from England.
The DART EMU's do look like something from Japan.
@@TheRandomRailfan 4 year old comment but the class 201's engine is identical to that of the british rail class 66, although both were built by GM/EMD. our old loco hauled stock was very much derived from british design, cravens and mk2 stock using b4 bogies, and the mk2s being built by BREL. we also had some unique coaches which were refurbished second hand BR mk2a/b coaches, these only lasted 10 years though. the mk3s, derived from the british ones were the last loco hauled stock besides the enterprise and mk4s, which are not british design.
@@irish_trains Hah, it's fine. Some of those coaches did bear more than just a coincidental resemblance to British MK2s lol.
30th!
I think this is better than NYC LIRR and Metro North
*cough*
+sonicboy678 ???
Raju Efem From what I can gather, there's a fair amount of diesel in play. Good luck breathing comfortably around that.
+sonicboy678 what are you talking about?
Raju Efem I'm guessing that you didn't notice certain details about the trains in the beginning of this video.
Hmm, no third rail how is that?
Not every MU needs to be attached to third rail.
These trains use overhead wire.
You cold obviously see that if you weren't blind
Sharon Watkins Pretty sure only south east England and subway services use 3rd rail I think I rather over head wire 🚊🚊🚊
So what made you pick Ireland of all places to film. Doesn't seem very interesting compared to other railways (not that I live here or anything)
How dare you insult Ireland's Railways.
0:38 what's the r train doing in dublin
eroc51440 it does substitute commuter services as they're running low on 29000s
Dublin Ireland Hometown of Conor Mcgregor😎
