TMEA 2021 anyone? I've been praying for an Eric Whitacre piece for two years and it finally happened! This is one of my favorite Eric Whitacre pieces too, right after Cloudburst! Alto gang
I'm a soprano 1 and we're doing this in my ensemble. It's kinda hard to hit a high A, but once you get the momentum, it's so beautiful with everyone harmonizing.
This song is really beautiful! My choir sang it during one of our last performances. Write this in the search. You're going to love it for sure! Corale Novarmonia - Sleep (E. Whitacre)
This piece makes me cry now we did this for mpa and it just holds all of my I love choir I hope I can do choir in college without having to major in it
Singing this in concert in two weeks, really excited! This and the 5 Hebrew Love Songs are my favourite Whitacre pieces I think. Everything he does is perfection!
Whose woods these are I think I know. His house is in the village though; He will not see me stopping here To watch his woods fill up with snow. My little horse must think it queer To stop without a farmhouse near Between the woods and frozen lake The darkest evening of the year. He gives his harness bells a shake To ask if there is some mistake. The only other sound’s the sweep Of easy wind and downy flake. The woods are lovely, dark and deep, But I have promises to keep, And miles to go before I sleep, And miles to go before I sleep.
A six years ago I would said “here” but I lost my Eb2...voice cracks now when I try to hit that note...my tessitura is higher than what it used to be when I was forced to sing bass 2 in choir
What spinning logo? I was following every note and chord. Beautiful piece and rendition. Maybe instead of playing Mendelsohn's Songs Without Words before going to bed I'll listen to this. Thanks.
3:15 this entire song is ethereal, but my most favorite part would have to be the whole build up here to that dissonant chord on ‘leap’ ☁️✨🪽 ahhhh so blessed to be a second soprano 🤌🏼
Yeah, I have a problem with someone putting a watermark on someone else's composition and someone else's recorded performance. Watermarks are to help prevent things from being stolen, but this is sort of being used to steal.
+1 for including the score. -2 for the animated watermark. I know that people have reasons for putting watermarks in videos but you had no excuse for an animated one.
Idk if this song sounds so easy or hard bc all the beautiful chords and voices i hope that my girls choir would sing this for UIL next year . but i have a question the notes on top means that. A different part for example it said SATB so does it means they sing soprano 1 soprano 2 alto 1 alto 2 tenor 1 tenor 2 bass 1 bass2
Meme Man I was just stating the obvious! Clearly it’s easy. But I love that you want to go out of your way to talk to me❤️ it’s just an opinion. I don’t find it annoying
that song is really good but that logo is really annoying...129 of the 130 dislikes have probably been due to that logo...if somebody wants to steal your sheet music, they will copy it note per note, if somebody wants to steal the audio, they won´t include the video...just leave the stupid rotating thing out.....
Honestly, I am over composers thinking all bass players are able to sing upper staff/above staff easily. For myself, it takes extreme amounts of pressure on my vocal cords to keep that C4 steady for 9 measures. It doesn't sound good on my voice at all. I'd end up being Bass 2 for this song alone, just so I can sing the ranges present in a good tone.
Patrick V. Um unless ur like a russian oktavist then all basses shud be able to sing up to the high e or d at least. Its not impossible u just need to switch registers when needed. Being a lower voice is no excuse for not being able to sing high
Agree, maybe your probleme is the location of the sound in your body. Try to put the sound in your nose, that part is piano anyway so you don't have to take out all your voice, another thing: hold your air with the ribs and the back, is going to be longer that way.
It's customary for choirmasters to assign baritones to the bass part. I guess that choirmaster Eric Whitacre disposed the notes with that in mind, and expected the Bass 1 part to be sung by baritones who can sing high enough.
TMEA 2021 anyone? I've been praying for an Eric Whitacre piece for two years and it finally happened! This is one of my favorite Eric Whitacre pieces too, right after Cloudburst! Alto gang
I’ve been praying for a Whitacre piece too! Bass gang ✊
Caleb Aguirre yes! Hey were you in this last years mixed choir by chance? I feel like I know your name
Pari Dhawan, Yes! I was in Mixed :)
Such a wonderful piece can’t wait for this!

it’s been a DREAM to sing this for the tmea process :,)
Agreed, bass 2 is amazing
Incredibly beautiful. The dissonances are thrilling and unbelievably difficult to sing a cappella!
I sang this is my high school choir 6 years ago. Soprano II . Listening yo this song i remembered everyday note every rest... gives me chills !!!
He practically breathes chords, they're so amazing. That's just beautiful, my entire soul stilled :,)
The “Dune” chord is sooo beautiful
the resolution + their vowel is so clear and 🤌
I sang this song with Eric conducting us and it was amazing. We did this at Lincoln center in 2014
Congrats on the achievement! Beautiful stuff.
I did so this year - great experience.
My oh my, why do I discover this song only now? It is so beautiful and dreamy!
3:58 oh my god. Imagine dying because of hearing a beautiful chord.
I'm a soprano 1 and we're doing this in my ensemble. It's kinda hard to hit a high A, but once you get the momentum, it's so beautiful with everyone harmonizing.
THANK YOU
id be down for that!!
contrary to all of the comments, I had no issue with singing along with the logo. thanks for the video!
offsetting the key signature by changing the Eb to an E natural is so clever i love him so much
This is such a beautiful piece...the discords are so good...and this is a dream song I want to sing with a chambers choir
ha..... DREAM song
I sang Alto 2 in this song with my chamber choir. It was absolutely amazing!
ew did you just say discords lmao, it's dissonances....
I miss being in high school and singing pieces like this
This song is really beautiful! My choir sang it during one of our last performances. Write this in the search. You're going to love it for sure!
Corale Novarmonia - Sleep (E. Whitacre)
It's wonderful! You are very talented! :)
1:00. The chord that you hope will never end.
My choir teacher presented this song to us to learn for our spring concert. This chord gave me chills when I first heard it
I adore the bassline in this piece
tmea 2021 :) they finally included an eric whitacre piece
i mean they did it back in 2006 lmao. i was 2.

But im so sad we didn't get to perform in person this year. Especially at the state convention

Time to finally make all state this year
This piece gives me chills every single time I listen to it.

Doing this as a marimba concerto arrangement, and sounds amazing. Amazing piece, amazing arrangement, everything's perfect!
I wish I wasn’t a senior and could do All State this year

i’m doing this song with my choir & they’re all so annoying about having to sing this awesome piece
Have this song on my sleep playlist, but I have never heard what it sounds like due to me being passed out by the time it gets there.
Can you post list
Nice! Hauntingly lovely...
Music from heaven.......

This should be on the radio for everyone to hear
Beautiful, and thanks so much for the score Jose, but could you maybe make your logo a little less distracting?
Merci 😊

Get rid of the spinning logo
Frank White - Seriously Yes!!!
Probably for copyright reasons. I remember there being another version of the sheet music in the past, but it's gone now.
Yeah, I have a problem with someone putting a watermark on someone else's composition and someone else's recorded performance. Watermarks are to help prevent things from being stolen, but this is sort of being used to steal.
I made this video, my account got taken down, but he took my video and added his logo, and I had my logo on it at the end...

Wow! not heard this particular piece of Whitacre before. At 4:00 minutes in is pure Bruckner.
Just love Erics use of added notes such as the major 7, 9 & 2. Glorious harmony!
There's so many chords here that Skyrim has in its music, now it's the only thing I can think about when I listen to this lol
@TAS Lud_Games I think a lot of the chords are from Skyrim’s ambiance music, but I’m not sure which specific song it’s from
Love It! Easy sight-reading!
It is in the key of f right?
@@WreckerOfMoons It's in E flat...
A couple of whitacre's songs are in g sharp
+1 for including the score. -2 for the animated watermark. I know that people have reasons for putting watermarks in videos but you had no excuse for an animated one.
I swear that chord at 3:56 make my spine go cold
Wow, and I thought the band version was good. It is, but wow is the choral version so much more beautiful.
I could easily find this piece without copying these images. Trash the logo.
So this is a watermark...
This song is so beautiful!!!
Unglaublich schön. Diese Disharmonien so schön und doch so schwierig zu singen..

The logo hurts my eyes
Unfortunately there are a few typos in there, bass in bar 12, for example.
The spinning logo is really annoying and distracting when you want to read the notes along because the human brain focuses on movement.
Don´t let these "I don´t like the spinning logo" comments get to you, they are just crying babies... BEAUTIFUL piece of music
Is it possible to turn up the vocals?
I sight read all four female parts, logo and all. Y’all just mad over anything and everything.
Thank you! It really is so simple to tune out
Odd flex
Lili Valencia big whoop. Want a cookie? Any high school choir kid with a brain can do that. The logo is annoying.

Good flex, you keep on sight reading quarter notes
Sleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepppppppppppppppp ~
Love it from like 4 minutes on. Also get rid of the logo!
This choir is not The Eric Whitacre Singers.
Not bad at all though.
Which choir then?
Holy guacamole
First time actually doing this, wish me luck!
echt prachtig

Do you have water night?
Is the bass notation off at 00:56 ?
0:56 "coming soon" bass part should be D C C
Sounds like substandard Arvo Part.
beautiful music. I agree with the others about the logo. very distracting and annoying

Practice then haha. That shouldn't be tough for a bass. Even go into falsetto if you have to.

Voces 8 do a much better interpretation tho
Dislike for the logo
Everything would be perfekt without this spinning logo, which is extremely annoying and which destoys it all.
This is not legal. Show some respect for the composer.
Take that logo off. Not watching or listening because of it
Womp womp ☠️ your loss honestly

There aren't mistakes they are meant to be crunchie
