I wanted to do exactly this in my kitchen but the walls don't line up, the gate would block the pantry door It would be nice to have it slide on bearings but idk how you'd do that without adding significant cost in materials and labor. My ideal would be easy slide and latch with magnets I suppose you could make it slide a bit easier if you only ran say the top and middle pipes full length, that should still be plenty strong and reduce friction Anyway would love to have this. Very nicely done!
We’re doing this now - we put the pvc in the wall - it’s been Sheetrocked. Did you switch the 2x4 out for the finished wood frame and recess the those connectors? We can use a pull ring and some sort of magnetic thing on the other side- what did you use?
I used to drive a (Crown) order picker at my old job and the safety gate is a clever idea. If the roof line is tall enough, you could do a drop gate.

Thank you! This gate got a small wheel attached when it was finished.
Fantastic
Would love to see this after it's all built.
I will be posting one soon!
Do you have a video on how you made the pocket gate?
Yes, I will soon we are about to install another one!
Love it I need one I have a German sherperd and a husky and every dog gate they have destroyed
I have the same problems
Awesome!!!

Very very cool
what's the slide out ladder for? certainly not for toddlers
it says right there
How do you lock it?
But why does it go so far into the wall? Am I being dumb?
Just to trying and make the gate stronger. The lady has big dogs. Don’t want those pipes to come through the Sheetrock.
@@justinhilton6472 Makes perfect sense. Great idea.
Wanting to do this. What size metal pipe and what size is the pvc?
