I have a 1999 B5 with a 1.8T... why will I never sell it? Well.. 1. it has 150hp... the 1.8T engine is amazingly fast for such a big car 2. it is a wagon - lots of space 3. it's comfortable 4. LOOKS GOOD!! 5. barely any problems... just the usual stuff like brakes etc.. 6. it has the highline equipment - half leather seats, biege color, 3 spoke leather steering wheel, wood around the controls, heated front seats, climatronic... 7. barely any kind of wear, just the usual Also new upgrades will come like bigger wheels, hp over 200hp, bigger brakes, W8 style tacho, full leather back and front biege seats *POSSIBLY* with electric moving and memory, B5.5 armrest, W8 style bumper exhaust holes, sport exhaust, chrome details, headlight with LED stripe, new bumper lips, new grille, LED brake lights, 2 din stereo with aux and usb, wood around the AC vents, possibly a wood coated 3 spoke steering wheel... yeah, that's pretty much it xD
This sounds, like a car i would like to have. It is a great project, and I really hope that you will achieve your goals, and after that, continue to enjoy your work.
I have a b5 competitor for that car. A 26k mile 1999 passat gls 1.8t manual that was only driven once a week its entire life and lived in a garage in Florida. Spotless. And the 60,000 mile maintenance has already been performed by the dealership. Including timing service.
iK Production for sure. I'm gonna make a video. As soon as I get the new inserts for the door panels. Fabric is loose and wrinkled like most b5s. Driving me Crazy looking at it. The only cosmetic flaw. I just got some rs4 rotor wheels for it. They are replicas and only 18" but the authentic wheels are $3k U.S. check out Alzor wheels from ecstuning.com. Very impressed with the quality for the price. Someday I will step up to a forged set when I can wrap my head around paying 3000 for a set of wheels.
