I am one of those that don't like people filming in the gyms but thats mostly because those that annoy gym goers get in the way or have the notion that they own the place.
What you done was fine because from what I could see.
A: didn't block any walk ways or equipment
B: didn't moan or argue with anyone for walking past your camera
C: didn't stop or let anything interrupt your workout
D: seemed respectful of other users
E: minded you own business (stole from Joey Swoll)
In short you were not selfish, narcissistic like alot of the social media people that do film in gyms for their own content be that showing off, actual training or just insulting and attacking other gym users. So thank you for showing your session and just doing your workout while respecting other users. Great stuff.

Lauren, I cannot thank you enough for filming your workout. As a former international powerlifter, referee and personal trainer I enjoy seeing another professional athlete doing their workouts. The angle you filmed allowed me to see whether you were hitting the muscles correctly for what you intended. You were spot on. I noticed you used the correct form and technique for exercises I often see being done incorrectly. You must have been lucky enough to get a really great coach. I could go on and on about workouts but clearly you are doing everything smartly, correctly and efficiently. Yes, please post more workouts.

    • @ElkoBarbell
      @ElkoBarbell 23 дня назад

(Also a competitive powerlifter and personal trainer...) and I mostly agree, except for the cable crunches. Those were really hip flexor "crunches" - to work the abs you would want to curl your torso more versus hip hinging as was done in the video. I've also found that facing away from the weight stack helps because the line of pull of the weights is then behind you pulling the abs in the opposite direction you're trying to contract them in. This can help your conscious engagement of the correct muscles as well as providing more of a direct opposite-pull for those muscles to ideally work against.

She reminds me of a girl I swam with decades ago…..the swimmer was 5’6” and wiry….she could pop off 3 x 15 pull-ups and 3 x 20 dips in perfect form each day (2-3 times/week that we lifted)…...granted, she was an excellent butterflyer…..it’s great to see the training advances and to see the hard work this athlete puts in (and, IIRC, she’s no longer “young;” she’s early 30’s - if I remember correctly from another video). She’s at an age that many athletes have to both work harder AND rest more to maintain that 18-28 vigor.
      Kudos to her!

You are such an inspiration and I feel encouraged to get going and make some changes, my clothes don't fit anymore 😢. Really enjoyed the video. Would love to see more of your gym sessions. I am very impressed by the amounts of weight you're doing in the various exercises. But then again, it's obvious from looking at you that you put a lot of work into your back. And I get the reluctance to record in the gym. Respecting every body else's privacy and right to exercise without having to dodge around cameras is something you should always have consideration for. As long as you don't become of those influencers who think their recording is more important than anyone else's workout, you're ok.

Very good pullups! Your form is really good because you use full range of motion. A gym etiquette tip: For your barbell rows, don't take up an entire power rack just to do rows with that light of a weight. You can easily just rest that barbell on the floor. You don't need to use the safety catches of a power rack to hold your barbell. If your gym has some fixed barbells (even if they're fixed ez barbells) use those. Or, if there's an open space, take an Olympic bar and rest it on the floor. Or just use two dumbbells and do your bent-over rows with the two dumbbells.
You're a young, attractive female, so most guys will probably give you a pass on using the power rack for rows. But if a guy did that, in many gyms, you can be certain that someone will say something. Seems like a very small thing, but, in a crowded gym, etiquette is extremely important.

I wrote notes. I don't plan on going to the gym but I can do some things at home. Pull-Ups I used to do pull-ups from being in gymnastics in recently I just got this rubber band Device to assist me getting back into shape which I'm out of. But to watch you do three sets of 8 pull ups it was that was incredible I'm serious people in general aren't able to whether you realize it or not just grab anybody and say hey how many popes can you do and maybe one or two with that so you're really good shape. Lastly you might not see it probably cuz it's hard to perceive yourself but you are a great teacher it just comes natural to you you don't seem awkward it's again like I'm with you I'm getting down looking into the camera talking about the part of what the exercise you're going to do and it's like I'm right there with you in front of your face going okay let's do this and let me make it out of that as wild anyway yeah more please

I never thought of training the weak side first, it makes sense.
Great video btw - double win.

YES! I would very much like to see and learn how to do proper gym workouts! Also, I think this would be a terrific addition to your "Fancy Feats" app! This was a great video!👍🏻

Use a cable pull while sitting on the floor legs straight out pulling 2 handles with palms up. Full forward and pull until your hands are breaking the plane of your sternum. Go heavy. It is better because you can go heavier safely.

Not sure if you’re describing face pulls or something else? I do face pulls on my other upper body day. Legs bent though, not straight and palms facing down

@@LaurenJumps That does the muscles in upper back between your shoulders. Sitting legs straight palms up and pulling low will work your back below that area. It also brings in the upper and lower back to some extent. It is similar to a single arm dumbbell pull, but saves time and creates a balance of muscular strength. Benefit ...Mr. Jumps won't be able to resist when you pull him in for a kiss. :) Like he would resist.

Aloha, That was a great workout and it just made me feel tired already. I did put in some cardio workout by jogging hills 1 hour and 43 minutes. Roughly 5.73 miles this afternoon. Thank you for showing us your workout routine. Four days per week is a pretty good workout. Mahalo.

    Hey Lauren,
Loved the video. Good content and you’re always smiling.
Next gym videos should be about arms and legs.
    Until then, keep jumping 💪🏻👍
