I"m really enjoying your Vlogs, every day. You are so positive and we need more people like you in this world. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. :)
It is a year later, and as I've just recently found your vlog, I would like to ask why your community doesn't just braid and hang the whole garlic heads and then peel them as needed? Thank you for sharing your vlogs with us!!
Those potatoe peelers are so nice. There is something to be said for large quantity cooking. I would be individually peeling each potatoe. Very nice and I love the fry maker and the potatoe slicer. Thank you.
I have some of that exact fabric you used for the first dress you wore in this vlog. I used to make headbands to sell and the ones I made with that fabric were some of my best sellers.
Well made vlog Giselle, will give you an A+ or a thumbs up, which ever you prefer?! How do you preserve the garlic cloves after peeling them? Also did not understand the purpose of breaking the onion tops -stalks and leaving them in the ground? What happens to the green tomatoes, shelf ripen later or preserved in some other way? Forgive me for all the questions. . . peace and blessings to your colony! S. Carolina
Oh its all good no worries 😊 we mince the garlic and then just freeze it, the tomatoes we just pick the huge ones to shelf ripen and also just in case they ripen too fast they might rot so we try to prevent that.
The onions need to cure before we put them out for the winter and they are cured when they are flat on the ground and the ones that are not still need to cure. So we bend them over to help them with that. Anyway I think thats what we've been told. 😊
we allow them to ripen in our greenhouse we have had discovered if the huge green ones are left to vine ripen they often get eaten by mice or the go bad before they are ready this method has been pretty good so far.
Why do you pick your tomatoes when they are green? Do you make a special relish or do you fry them? We have fried green tomatoes at the end of the season. When we know they run out of sun. Thank you.
we freeze a lot in summer but, we have so many that we don't know what to do with so they get thrown into the garden where they add nutrition to the soil.
Hi Giselle... I am wondering if when you have an abundant of veggies, like the cucs, if you have ever had anyone from outside come in and pick them for themselves? OR>> You mentioned selling them. Do you have a "farmers Market" type thing, or just word of mouth?
august of last year i was trimming trees away from electrical power lines 5 days a week , so trees were so close they were smoldering ( yes like on fire ) plus wearing a face covering for the past 16 months is very challenging ..
Do you happen to know what variety those apples are? They look like the 2 that used to grow on my Opa & Oma’s farm. We used to have wonderful juice and jelly from them! But they were destroyed in a bad storm. They were over 50 years old, and they couldn’t remember the variety name. Many in our family have searched and tried different types, but nothing is the same, not as good. I wonder if your might be same type- they look very similar in size and shape! Are they tart?
Rub your fingers and hands all over your stainless steel knife under running water. Having worked in restaurants, chopping up 50kg bags of onions, this really works with onions and garlic. Plus, your knife gets washed at the same time. (never use soap on a good knife) Just be careful not to cut yourself while rubbing each finger over the knife.
I have a question about your dresses: In the videos I noticed it has darts for a semi-fitted bodice, but the front buttons don't seem to extend onto the skirt. I wonder if the bottom part of the bodice is still wide enough to fit over the hip or shoulders. Or is there an additional opening, like a side zipper?
Yes the bodice is wide enough to fit over the shoulders and hips but, still fits your body shape perfectly. No there is no zipper or any opening. the skirt gets attached/sewed onto the bodice. The dress is easily slipped over the head when putting it on. Does that answer your question? 😊
Another interesting video ...I love your working class...Your always dressed to perfection ...And your new dress is beautiful, we’re you at the funeral at Decker it was a sad event
Thanks for showing this... with the mask. I heard a report on the Canadian news that this month in January Covid-19 numbers have risen to unbearable levels in communities... I’m so sad, thus just breaks my heart for you all. It’s so different to your lifestyle. I’m so sad for you all.....
Unbearable??? We do have covid cases in a few communities but, its not to the point where its unbearable. But, I guess I'm only talking about Manitoba.
Beautiful garlic! I used to live in Gilroy California, the self proclaimed garlic capital of the world!

I make applesauce and I also slice the apples and can them for strudel or crisps etc. What do u do with the green tomatoes?

What variety of tomatoes are in your garden?
Best way to get rid of garlic smell is to rub hands with lemon juice, then soap and water
ahh thanks I'll have to keep that in mind otherwise the smell lasts too long.
I like when you show your new dresses!
Oh my gosh, don't through put those beet tops. Wonderful nutrition and tastes good..

@@gisellewaldner9406 I understand because you grow so much but they are so terribly good for you. More iron then spinach..

@@gisellewaldner9406 yes on fire and its takes a lot of skill to not get shocked or burned i have seen other worked get hurt . lucky not to serious .
You get used to face masks. I wore a mask for 40 yrs in surgery.

if its those small ones then I believe they are called crab apples and yes they are super tart.
i kinda smell like supper ! haha thats funny !

Scrubbing your hands with used coffee grounds works better to remove garlic or other strong smells from your hands!
I've never though of that thank you :)
Giselle, what kind of beets were those? Thanks
Do you guys grow pumpkins 🍊🍊🍊

the small fresh ones are the best.
Stainless steel spoon a d cold water running over it really quick a d does work

Why do you have to wear a mask if you are alone?
I was wondering that too...
Because it's a mind control device
