Oh yeah, it's also broken.
If you toss any kind of piano (some are generated naturally) you'll get materials the piano is made off, some books, and bones (pre-skeletron bones).
It's also applied to wires (active stone blocks), broken hero sword (Terra toilet in the celebration seed/zenith seed because jungle mimics can spawn inside these seed, which drops the Terra toilet), and idk if there's more of it.

I tried to throw in a gold worm into the shimmer, but I got swarmed by 5 enemies at once.They knocked me back right as I threw the worm missing the shimmer and onto the platform, and killed it.
I was so salty that day.

It only works for switching between the two items needed to craft each part of the ankh charm (ie: vitamins-> armor polish->vitamins) so it just means you dont have to farming medusas, and can finally use those extra pieces

@Secnrow Games set up an in pipe in the shimmer. and an out pipe where you want the shimmer, connect with wire and hit a switch, should work unless they patched it.

Shimmer is a must find, I spent hours trying to find a lava charm in my world for Terra boots, but I realized that since you can throw a lava charm into shimmer for a magma stone, you could probably do the opposite. And it worked.

Please ask Re-Logic to make it so that if you manage to craft all the diving gear then toss it into shimmer...then you can use it to swim in shimmer which gives you two extra mana stars and an extra heart of health for 10 minutes....since mage is the only class ive never tried...❤❤❤

The vital crystal doesn’t technically boost life regen in the same way other things do but instead increases the rate at which life regen ramps up

It works preboss. There are only 3 items that dont work pre ML.
And they are the Terraformer, Rod of Harmony and the Shimmer bucket
Everything else with the shimmer is as soon as you get your world. I used it a ton even before Skeletron in my master world

Nah it’s not that easy. Only certain ankh accessories turn into other ankh accessories if that makes sense. So you need roughly half of them

You know how they get paired with othe items? Such as the trifold map and fast clock (i think), to make "the plan"? If you want the map, throw the clock into shimmer

Let me explain, so, there 5 main things to get it right? You cant just get 5 of one of them and start interchanging, instead, you throw the materials to make one of the said 5 items and it will get interchanged into the other part you need (example, you can throw a vitamin into it which will make it become armor polish, so you only need 2 vitamins instead of farming until armor polish)

You can only use one. The other ones wont work.
I recommend crafting a bunch of those life lanterns (I forgot what they are called, but they apply a life regen buff similar to the campfire) and placing them around the underground jungle and dungeon

Shimmer only spawns in the aether biome. There is only a single small aether biome in every world. It is located roughly unde the ocean on the side of the jungle in the caverns layer.
