Old school SM vocalists, they were trained by the best. Changmin/TVXQ has had the wrong end of the stick for many years, but his talent will always be self-evident. I saw Changmin perform this on Music Bank and it was transcendent, even better than the MV.
Is not old school or 2nd generation or training. Training helps but it is talent. They are extremely talented. You can't turn an ok talentless person even with the best teachers into a great singer. Talent turns you into a Changmin but he had the voice to begin with. That old generation or 2nd generation bit takes away from who they are. Anyone who has been to a vocal coach can tell you that. As a matter of fact follow the career of Lee Hong Ki, see him sing at 13 and now. He has better technique but the voice is all his. Talent pure talent.

@@Cincelia it's not bcoz of he's getting married but tvxq supporters bcome decreasing bcoz tvxq got lack of promotion & being hiatus for long time to have album.
Tbh tvxq dont have high no of album because most of us not interested to own albums. But you guys can check concert sales instead. In sm, TVXQ is no 1 in term in concert sales 😂 especially in Japan. Not everything is about albm sales. TVXQ fans not decreasing. They loyal to TVXQ.

I love seeing people being confused by the deer thing😁 Changmin has a nickname Bambi/deer, gave him by his fans, because of his big dark eyes, so this deer symbols are his "easter eggs" for his fans😉
One thing bout Changmin is he gone SANG!!!☝🏾😝 i just wanna thank whoever made this demo and let him borrow it👏🏾 i hope that both sides of their pillow is cold😊
It’s originally a single by singer/songwriter Alex Runo that was released last year. Check out the original, it’s good too. Changmin’s voice just keeps getting better, of that’s possible.

This is an amazing vocal performance, with the traditional SM stacked vocal harmonies. It's a cover of song by a western artist. Max Changmin was trained by famed SM vocal trainer and producer Yoo Youngin. He also trained DO, of Exo. You can hear the similarities in style.
I just found out that Max changmin, D.O & winter was his personal student last year. No wonder they have some similar techniques.

I watched this mv over and over again when it came out -- his voice is so compelling on this -- thanks for reacting to this fantastic song.

Changmin/Max is a member of the group/duo TVXQ, who has been in the Kpop game for more than 18 years. He has been nicknamed Bambi by his fans and he has taken it on as a sort of spirit animal that represents him, so I think the deer in his "Devil" MV is supposed to symbolize him. If you read the lyrics, the song is about having self doubts and bad thoughts and harboring those feelings within your heart. So in the end the deer (himself) becomes like the Devil because he has now embraced those feelings.
Although "Devil" is a remake of a song by Alex Runo, Changmin wrote his own lyrics for the song and gave it a different storyline than the original version.
As you heard, Changmin is known for his powerful high notes (even more powerful than Onew or Jonghyun from SHINee or Chen and Baekhyun from EXO -- all SM powerhouse vocalists), he literally has one of the widest note ranges of almost any Kpop artist. In a high note battle he always wins. It wouldn't be a TVXQ/Changmin song if we didn't get to hear at least one unbelievable high note from him.
During U-Know's and his reaction video to the MV, Changmin said the forest you see him in is a real forest and they had to take a boat to get there. They used drones with lights on them to light the area to give it that spooky effect. "Devil" is the title track off his second solo mini album Devil. If you haven't yet, check out his pre-release "Fever" stage video that was part of SM's New Year's Eve SMTown SMCU Express concert and "Maniac" promotional video which are also songs on this album.
This song seriously, I’ve been a fan of TVXQ for quite a while now and Max never fails to blow me away with vocals. SM solo albums always be killing it. I hope he gets to perform this at the SMtown concerts.

@@Koko3op Yeaaaaaah... this is a whole new side to Jackson. It's like he channeled Baz Luhrman for this production.
If you love musical theater at all, and even if you only watch it for the visuals, you will not be disappointed... the choreography, the dancers, the costumes, the set design, the cinematography, the editing... it's all exceedingly well done and is absolutely his best work yet.

So when I heard this song I literally gave Max Changmin a nickname Max "Church Dady" Changmin because his vocals literally took me back to an old Southern Baptist church in America and gave me goosebumps.
