    Now this is what I'm talking about! -I- live in Iowa and appreciate that I can look at someone's capsule wardrobe that will be realistic with the midwest weather we have. Thank you!

    You may have already gotten jeans, but Everlane just came out with a denim line that is ethically made. They're fantastic.

    Just switched from summer to fall capsule 2 days ago. Kept only 2 sweaters from summer and let everything else rest for now. Instead I did bring in a couple of items that did not make the summer capsule because of the color. Previous switch was from winter to summer because we kinda skipped the whole spring here in Finland. About 30% of my winter clothes stayed through summer so I really needed this change not to get bored...

    One of the things I've found super useful is tracking my outfits and capsule pieces in my billet journal! It's really helped me be more honest with myself about what I do and do not wear

    Great video Victoria. Black high wasted jeans are a staple for me. They can be worked into any look.

    I love how casual your wardrobe is but I can't wait to see how you'll incorporate more "put together" pieces! I think it'd be cool if you did a mini series on your changing capsule. I recently got a denim jacket for my capsule and it's a game changer!

    I live in the Pacific Northwest so I do more of a "year-round small wardrobe" format. Only thing that really changes with my entire wardrobe is in the summer I add in shorts/tanks, and in the winter I add in heavy sweaters/my winter coat. Haha. Otherwise I am lucky that jeans/tees/thin knits/footwear/etc. are year-round constants. It really makes me really think about if I love something enough to have it to (1) have hanging in my closet 365 days a year and (2) part of my rotation for the whole year, not just 3 months. Proven winners are skinny jeans, ankle boots, Breton stripes, cashmere jumpers and black tees.

    Our September is the same hodge podge of cra cra temps lol. Cigarette pants/slacks are my fav style~ Although we have 4 seasons like you, I feel with such overlap these days with the weather, I have curated my wardrobe into 2 seasons; Spring/Sumer & Fall/Winter and it's helping me purge more and love what I have. Thanks for sharing.

    It is harder if there is a wide temperature range and dress code variation. I did a capsule wardrobe video. I feel basically any top should go with any bottom and they should go with all the outwears as well!

    Can you talk a bit about your own definition of a capsule wardrobe. Do you try and stay within a limit of items? How do you know when your capsule is complete?

  • @snapdazzlex

    The way you talk about changing the way you dress to reflect who you are is exactly how I feel. Just started dating again and its so crazy I dont feel I have any outfits that represent me!! Its very difficult to get it right and get out of the frumpy dtage ;)

    Hey--love from a fellow Iowan (great Raygun tee). If you're looking for some more "boss" pieces, Kowtow has some incredible basics (that they layer into works of art), plus they're ethically made.

    Nice capsule! I am working towards a year round capsule wardrobe but its difficult when there are a few weeks of summer that are 90 plus degrees and then occasional snow in the winter or even spring. I am with you on getting out of the frumpiness, which is where I have been the last year lol. I like your idea of blazers or an accessory to spice up an outfit to just give you that bad ass woman power :) Do you have any other ideas on crushing the frumpiness?

    Do you buy new pieces every season or just donate them as you realize you don't wear them anymore? This seems hard to do living in 4 seasons! I live in MN and feel like I need more clothes than someone who lives in CA or FL for example. Would be interested to hear how you feel now compared to when you didn't do the capsule wardrobe too!

    • @faeriesmak

      I feel the same way living in WI. Sometimes I feel like we have more than 4 seasons and 3/4 of them are unbearable cold!

    • @clairethemom
      @clairethemom 7 лет назад

      Definitely had to add clothes to my wardrobe when I moved away from California. It seems like I need different weights of jackets and coats, too. Tried layering but it got too bulky and I had to take everything off when I got to my office. Crazy bother.

    I live in Florida and have been working my way to a capsule wardrobe. The problem is only January-March is "cold" and the rest of the year is equivalent to everyone else's summer. So should I just have two seasons for my capsule wardrobe?

    • @leggingsarepants3175
      @leggingsarepants3175 7 лет назад

      Emily O right lol Florida is like hot all the time and even in Jan to march, the middle of the day is hot enough to wear shorts

    Can someone explain to me what exactly a capsule wardrobe is/what the purpose is behind it?

    • @DeborahSutherlandDebinPei
      @DeborahSutherlandDebinPei 7 лет назад +1

      I think it's a useful curating of your clothing items to use less, have less and love what you do own more. I started with the Project 333 website and then followed some ladies on RUclips to see if it was something that worked for me. I am still in the process, hard to narrow it down when you love so many different styles and my hope was to "find" that one style that suits me best, It is not a new concept, my aunt (74 years old) has always favoured buying quality over quantity which if you look in her closet, it is very simple yet mix/match curated style. I'm sure there is a better explaination out there then mine.

    i loved your capsule wardrobe, seems a lot like mine. I just dont love the way you throw the pieces in your bed to show them, its a bit annoying
