Scourge has upside down g2 Autobot badges because they were used on his original Takara release. Apparently they didn't wanna bother retooling the launching disks to remove the Auto-badge, so they flipped it around on the figure itself instead
I did love the upside down badge. It cemented them as a third faction (while still nominally Predacons) and reflected his origin as part Pred, part Optimus.
Something I noticed about scourge is that the way the clear pink plastic works results in that sinister pink glow from his eyes no matter what light level he's in-- i could place him in my dark room and the ambient light from the windows still causes him to glow unlike any other figure in my collection!
“ALL BOW BEFORE THESE PILLARS OF HEIGHT!” (Also here’s an explanation for the upside down g2 autobot logos if you haven’t already received one. @@PerspectiveEnd the bizarre thing about it is with the RID release of scourge they actually ended up removing the logos from the disks because the hasbro team didn’t want to use the upside down logo. (if hasbro could do that why didn’t takara)?
It's interesting how I've gone from, "Yeah I don't want to collect Transformers, I don't play with toys any more." to, "Oh my god I need most of the figures in this video!" in only a few months of being subbed to your channel. The Constructicon, Scourge, Trailbreaker, Terrorsaur! They all look god tier. Clampdown looks pretty good too. Like you said his car mode looks very reminiscent of 2001's Prowl. Now if only I had the money for every figure I want.
Hauler's clearly having some sort of existential crisis about the fact that he's based on split second background truck that was yellow, but is always cast in constructicon green.
I remember posting on the r/transformers subreddit that I really appreciated the cocky smirk that Velocitron Blurr has when compared to his 86 and SG versions, and I got quite a few comments that agreed with that statement. We really need more figures with facial expressions that aren't vacant stares (though that might be a bit difficult to do that).
I want so many of these, but my Walmart, being the worst, had only Roadrocket, Blurr, and Clampdown, the only ones I didn't want. Distribution is insane, glad you got them and could make a review!
There are some badass upgrade kits out there for scourge that make him look even way better Hell there's one that gives him a dark cloak which looks absolutely amazing on him.
Very entertaining. Blur is my second favorite out of that sub line. And an interesting fact, the original Ehobby hauler doesn’t have purple windows. I will get a tramp stamp of your logo if you review universe hound.
Transformers Legacy has gotten some interesting repaint characters. -Buzzworthy Bumblebee Dinobot and Terrorsaur: Cool incarnations of their original Beast Wars toys. -Velocitron Speedia 500 Blurr: Love the shades of blues and has a cooler head design than the SS86 Blurr. -Velocitron Speedia 500 Clampdown: With Kingdom Red Alert, they look really cool. -Velocitron Speedia 500 Road Rocket: Looks cool as a robot ninja. -Velocitron Speedia 500 Burnout: She looks cool. Hope for Crosscut and maybe Reboost in the future of Legacy. -Velocitron Speedia 500 Road Hauler: Been hoping for him to appear since the Earthrise Grapple release. He's great. -Velocitron Speedia 500 Scourge: Love everything about this guy from top to bottom. Looking forward to your review on the Buzzworthy Bumblebee Creatures Collide 4-pack.
I don't know that you needed to put the Velocitron Speedia 500 infront of every character there. I got nothing to really add to any of that, you summed them all up pretty good.
The dinobot looks fine but I got yellowing on him so fast, like a week after having him and I generally keep my display room dark. The terrorsaur looks great but they just re-released the vintage one and I prefer that one in a few ways. The scourge is pretty sick, i already got laser prime but this recolor might deserve another pick up, its just so cool. I'm just gonna sum up the rest saying I don't really care about them because I don't want to make this comment an essay. Thanks for the reviews perspectiveend.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah, the forearms and joints on him are a completely different color than what they're supposed to be. If it wasn't for that the figure would be stellar and it's such a stupid issue that hasbro could easily fix
Fantastic look at this sea of repaints PerspectiveEnd!!! I used Scourge's upside down G2 Autobot logos to make him a new faction of Transformers called "The Rogues." lol I got rid of BB Dinobot, and replaced him with Clampdown and Hauler. Keep on being amazing.
@@PerspectiveEnd The logo can be used in general, but for some reason Hasbro is not using it. The previous Transformers figures to have the G2 Autobot logo before Scourge were the Combiner Wars G2 Aerialbots.
Scourge is literally my favorite one of the bunch (since I don’t have Cosmos yet). In my collection, he is the king of the road, subduing even the likes of Motormaster and his Stunticons. And I LOVE his Nemesis Prime colors. Fun fact: Hasbro actually ran out of their paint budget for Scourge because they decided to paint his trailer silver instead, and thus couldn’t afford to have the figure look like the original design. In my personal opinion, they did the right thing, because I love everything about Scourge, including his silver trailer that you can actually form into his throne for him to sit on, or a fortress as it was advertised.
i went to target the other day hoping to find the new Elita-1, (i did not, but i got bulkhead!) and i saw probably 12 of toy colors dinobot taking up 10-20% of the transformers shelf.
@@PerspectiveEnd i think he’s great! he’s a very smart figure, but i do think two little things could be improved: 1) the shoulders and elbows are juuuust a little too tight for my liking 2) the cab chest doesn’t seem to plug in very solid. it feels like it just mushes into place other than that he is wonderful, and as someone who loves animated and likes prime it’s super cool to finally get a figure of bulkhead!
My laser prime head didn't move to much aswell when I first got it but all you have to do to fix it is to push the head forward cos it wasn't put on the balljoint properly
@@PerspectiveEnd ik it's very strange but that's what happened with mine I just popped the head off to get a closer look I it gets in stuck in the mouth plate section there's a bit of space for it to fit in front of the ball joint bit it's very strange
another great vid my guy...... the laugh that my girlfriend let out at 7:11 let's me know she will be watching future vids as well....keep up the great work
Gotta say, out of all the figs in the videos, I'm the most surprised with clampdown. Honestly I think the deco looks pretty neat in robot mode and SUPER well in car mode. Idk why - it's essentially red alert with more black bits than red - but I suppose that's the power of a killer deco lol
K so the thing with the upside down G2 logos was due to the retooling. The original Laser Prime mould has moulded G2 Autobot symbols on the disc launchers. Takara didn't want to tool them out, so they came up with the excuse of him being a reformatted protoform with upside down G2 autobot logos. That way, the discs would make sense... ...and then Hasbro went and tooled out the logos on the discs for the western release anyway...
My wild/dumb guess on why that’s the case for the US release: Hasbro went “Hey, we got to save on some cash by not making a new show & toyline by just dubbing & localizing one. Why not use the extra cash on retooling?”. Or something like that.
@@kaylemathewcomendador6964 actually it's because the idea for 'transtech' (the sequel series to beast machines) fell through and they needed something to fill the gap)
black scourge prime and idw blurr are still must have whenever I have the time to drive to walmart. As for toy color terrosaur, originally had no plans of picking him up but maybe I’ll reconsider. At least the colors pop more imo
I get your opinions in your video, I guess I just mess with it tbh. However as soon as I put Terrasor in beast mode I actually returned him and am better for it
I mean dinobot is one of the one's I'm choosing to keep, it's good, it's just the colors are a little awkward. And maybe it's just my love of the original figure that's holding me back on this, because it's not a sufficient replacement for my childhood.
Hey yo!!! Update, I was just at target and found the terrorsaur at target. It was on clearance as they make room for the new line. Got him for $12 and that figure at a core price is so so so so so much more and forgiving to the $25 regular price. What is awesome was this was my final piece to the Beast Wars collection having Dragon Megs as well!!! So I’m super satisfied and got a Waspinator for $15 at a huge yard sale new so caller me happy to complete the collection 😊😂
@@PerspectiveEnd Very true. I didn't say you spoke or stuttered like him, but you sound like him. "I mean, c'mon." If you posted a video where you're doing comedy, like, "Hasbro's at it again. Did you hear about this? Did you hear about this? They raised their prices. Too bad they can't raise their quality." I think I'd just about die laughing.
If you don’t want Clampdown, I could take him. I am actually working on a squad entirely compromised of the Sideswipe mold (ABCD Squad). I have had as much finding him as with Cosmos, so it would be appreciated.
I know not everybody has seen cybertron/galaxy force (and a lot of people don't know how its definitively in the top 5 transformers shows by virtue of being a decent Brave anime) but road rocket should've totally just been ransack. Like he's from velocitron, turned into a bike, had wheels on his leg, and kindve shitty weird kibble gun...road rocket should have gotten his own mold, us UT fans will take whatever bones are thrown our way even if its just a new head retool.
And then if they wanted to do something creative throw an optimus primal repainted as crumplezone in a boxset to go with ransack, as a reference to the botcon figure of primal that was made from crumplezones original toy.
@@PerspectiveEnd nooo god no just that by virtue of being a decent brave-type anime galaxy force is automatically better than some of the more mediocre shows we've gotten since. Like the armada dub and energon/super link are hot garbage but galaxy force is this nice cheesy anime that really focuses on the mecha/scifi aspect of transformers. Think it was the piece of media that introduced the concept of cybertronian colony worlds which was later used to even better effect in IDW
I don’t know where you got the idea that Road Rocket had a single visor for eyes? The old box art shows individual eyes close to the new one AND the toy also has two eyes, despite they being wider and close together.
I haven't actually done that yet. It's too late to return him now, but I basically put him in my display in Vehicle mode after this, and haven't gotten back to him.
Sure, I want Scourge so I could have a Voyager-sized Nemesis Prime to go along with my Gen Selects Galvatron, but even I have to face reality, as I know I'll never be able to get it, as it (along with the others) are American exclusives.
My other black repaints (POTP Nemesis Prime, Rodimus Unicronus, Siege Soundblaster and Barricade, Earthrise Barricade, & Legacy Ironhide Guard mode) should make up for that.
Yeah Burnout is a Chick, I mean if you count the Car Bumper, those are like Z Cups. And are there no chains in your country that carry stuff like this. Walmart is so Ubiquitous in the US I forget that's it's not coating the world.
That wasn't Revealed yesterday? I've known about it for like over a month now. I first heard about it on August 9th. Anyways, it's going to be good, that's all I gotta say right now.
Hauler is really good, I'm glad I experienced the Inferno mould through him. I'm thinking of getting Burnout, Scourge, and Clampdown. I love the Skids mould/design, and I love the colours and new head. Clampdown will be cool as just another generic Autobot that I can have as a background character in my collection
At first I was upset about the upside down G2 faction signs on Scourge, but then i realized it’s not a defect- it’s the G2 Autobot symbol. He’s evil Optimus Prime, so he’s not a decepticon, he’s an upside down autobot it’s so cheesy and I adore it
The only two that I still want are clampdown and road hauler. there's 20 Road Haulers at any Wal-Mart but my favorite is clampdown which there's none in a 20 mile radius
The upside down g2 autobot is a reference to the Rid repainted Combaticons literally just called "The New Decepticons ". It's a nice little nod but...a normal Decepticon badge would've been better
Road rockets head reminds me of Nightbird and I think that’s why I like it. Also my TWO legarcees arms both fall of but my road rocket refuses to do so, plus I like the red a lot more.
I'm tempted to buy several motorcycle shelf warmers and repaint them when they go on clearance. Almost all the colored parts are easily removable. I've also got a few spare heads lying around from other releases having extras... Could be nifty, and for $12 a pop, why not? Give the army of datsun and lambo repaints a bit of balance.
From the wiki: "Hasbro designer Mark Maher noted that when it came time to determine retools for the Arcee mold, it was Takara veteran Hisashi Yuki who put forward the idea of using one of the alternate heads to redesign one of the Laser Cycles as a "female ninja", with Road Rocket ultimately being chosen." This is freely available information and I'm not sure why you're so adamantly stating otherwise.
Then answer me this, if they weren't going to do a male mold of Arcee, then why did they Androgynize the shit out of her. Also if they just weren't even Remotely going to do Road Rocket, then why have it be Road Rocket, and even maintain the coloring? And also, why were they still referring to Road Rocket as male in the reveal if they were always intended as female. The Wiki can be wrong, the Wiki Can lie, or the Designer can Lie to the Wiki. I don't buy for a second that this was ever supposed to be female by intent.
@@PerspectiveEnd Sure I will. Stylistic decision. Why is Bulkhead not round like Prime's design? Because they went for a more 'evergreen' look. (Remember how leaks suggested Legacy was to be in part a return to pre-Prime Wars designs?) The Legacy Arcee mould looks pretty feminine to me but if you don't see the mould as unambiguously female, then I'm not gonna change your mind there. That's a question of aesthetics at the end of the day. I'm struggling with what you mean for second bit. Takara wanted a female ninja type, and Road Rocket was ultimately picked to fit that out of the two Laser Cycles (I would guess as the black deco of Road Pig would have been too similar to Flamewar, name aside). What are you relying on when you say HasTak weren't "remotely" planning on doing Road Rocket, when that's what they picked, and told us as much? It was later in the design process, and they told us that, and it's reflected in the mould. As to why they referred to Road Rocket as male in the streams, I'd say most likely it was a simple mistake. Road Rocket's G2 toy was male after all, and Hasbro have certainly shown they can play it fast and loose with the details. The Wiki is absolutely a secondary resource, but it is also held to editorial standards. I'd say check out the original livestream as primary research but if you're suggesting the designers are lying then I guess that's redundant. I'd also suggest checking out the designers' Instagrams but if you think they're lying about the process I guess there'd be no point. Considering how open they've been on the recent livestreams about their work, I don't see what they'd gain from lying and I think to arbitrarily accuse the designers of lying because you think the final result isn't convincing is pretty bad faith. There's honestly no shame whatsoever in saying "I don't think this looks feminine as a mould and it's ill-fitting for both characters they've gone with. It feels slapdash to me." And I'd agree in part there, as they confirmed they worked from the 'female ninja' mould and worked backwards to find a matching character.
Hauler's face suggests the designers just heard his name and thought it was Holler. Still, he's a repaint I've been wanting them to do for 2 years now. So, I definitely want to get him. I'm also wanting Scourge even if the long legs do bother me. I've been trying to not want Burn Out, but her reviews have been so positive.
@@PerspectiveEnd Cosmos is the only one I've never seen. I was able to order him for not too much more than the retail price. I saw Override one time. All the other ones are shelf-warming.
I have seen Scourge in my local Toys r Us (yes Toys r Us still exist in my country) and I have been kicking my self whether or not I should get it, its way to expensive fo a repaint like 70 bucks heck no but I do have the money. Should I get a 70 dollar repaint or save my money for you know food?
My Scourge came in the mail a few hours ago and he was an absolute joy to handle. I also found that his lanky legs actually work pretty well for kicking poses. Whoddathunk, right? The lightpiping works well enough, but the contrast of the red to the metallic teal and the black gave it a nice bit of pop. While he may be a head smaller, he does look decent when posed fighting Fire Convoy, especially high kicking him in the faceplate. Not the best figure, but a little imagination goes a long way to making it something beyond its flaws. And that's just what a toy is for, isn't it?
I don’t know anything about RID 2001, but I did have 3 figures from it. Legends Ironhide, Mirage, and Prowl. And the only reason I bought clampdown is because it scratches my nostalgia itch for that tiny little police car transformer I took with me everywhere as a child. I hope I can find it again someday Edit: just looked up the mold, and the deco I have is apparently from the *universe* toyline from 2003
The boxes are meh, but I am SO glad to see TF's packed in alt-mode again. That was a QC step Hasbro should have never stopped. And I like the robot being the "surprise" toy.
@@PerspectiveEnd I always figured if enough complained at the boxing stage they used to catch some issues. I never had a figure break out of the box for 20 years until they started packing in bot mode.
Warpath. I always love Warpath. Cause my favorite color is red. And I love built in cannons and tanks. The helmet is awesome too. I'm like a Char Aznable in terms of robot color preferences. If it's red, it'll look like one of the best things in the world. And the IDW version captures everything I love about Gundams. The skirts, the angular chest, the square-like shoulder pads, and the head is like the ultimate warrior of heads, which still kinda look like a Gundam design, with the eyes inside a helmet stuff. I love the proportions, it makes him look hefty strong and nimble at the same time. If there's gonna be an IDW toyline and Warpath's a Deluxe, I'm gonna pick this up in no time.
Probably Cyclonus. Skeleton Samurai done well and not like Bludgeon hell yeah. Then again I also like Base Form lower Jaw Missing Cultist Bludgeon too. I mean all the Alex Milne designs rule.
Great video as always! Also whats with legacy being 60% exclusive, like, theres 23 mainline figures out, and theres 31 different exclusives at various stores... its getting really overwelming, expecally when mainline figures do come out and there harder to find than exclusives Have you thought about doing the velocitron blurr mod? Where you attach the kibble to his back to better emulate his idw appearence?
Thank you very much! Yeah, honestly this is getting more ridiculous than ER, though thankfully the exclusives have all been to the largest retail chains. I don't know what Blurr mod you are talking about.
A couple of thoughts: 1) Road Rocket is better without Arcee baggage. It still has a way to go, but ninja cycle-bot is in the right direction. 2) Clampdown suffers from mold fatigue. I love Sideswipe but we are on year 5. At least Prowl has a partner.. If we get a Road Rocket in police colors we can pair him with Groove for a transformers version of Chips no one has been clamoring for. 3) Scourge is ready for the Mad Max section bottom shelf. With Springer, Sandstorm and the DotM racers all after the last tanker of Energon before Tina Turner takes it to power the Thunderdome. 4) Terrorsaur was an easy pick up. PotP Swoop now has a rival. Sadly this is as far as a Dino Wars variant can go. Megatron vs Grimlock and Swoop v Terrorsaur.
What do you mean Arcee Baggage? I was Fatigued after Siege Red Alert. He does have some Mad Max Energy even if the Paint would all be peeled off in Mad Max. That's a Strange Rivalry.
I think you are using the term retool wrong when it comes to Blur He’s more of a remould where he has new parts to make him look different but nothing else is changed A retool is where a figure is used as a base and then a ton of changes are made to the look and the transformation
Everyone seems to have a different definition of retool. I just categorize them into different tiers, like the Dinobot is a light retool, where he got a new head, the Blur is a medium retool where they changed a lot. Cliffjumper is a heavy retool, where they even messed with some elements of transformation.
I can confirm the eyes on my copy of Dinobot look a little sad too I got my copy from Target something also I picked up from Target yesterday was Studio series sideways and it's really good
I want get hauler and artfire or what ever his name is because I missed out on grapple (thankfully) and Inferno (sadly) good vid btw didn't expect another repaint palooza so fast
Yeah I know it sounds weird, it's probably not properly in it's socket mine didn't look up or down out of box, but I managed to correct it by pushing the head forward after removing it and putting it back on without seeing improvement. Of course this is a do at own risk thing, I can't know for sure if it's the same with your copy. First Edition Voyager Optimus had a similar problem if you're familiar with that.
The Upside down G2 Autobot symbols are the symbol of his faction in Car robots. The Destrongers, yeah that is really what they are called. think, less destron and more Anti-autobots, a subversion of Autobots rather than just a plain destron.
Hauler kind of feels like an apology from Hasbro like they're saying "Ok we know we screwed up with Grapple so here, have 3 other versions of this mold with the pegs fixed, more paint and characters people have been begging for modern versions of like Artfire and Hauler"
These overpriced repaints are the only new thing in my local stores shelves for the past month. The only new mold that showed up was Jhiaxus and I had already ordered him by the time I found him. (With the price hike they're cheaper online anyway.)
You really need to do a review on a app toys figures, they are only company that makes 3p prime figures and they are pretty good and relatively cheap, the Megatron is can be like found for 50ish dollars
I’m a bit interested in picking up Burnout and Black Convoy, but all the others don’t personally interest me. I don’t think they look bad (except toy colors Dinobot), I’m just not too interested. Now, if I can just find Tarantulas anywhere, that would be great
If burnout didnt get her dia burnout mp toy coming out, this burnout would be my burnout for my collection. But that dia burnout looks really good in my opinion. I have a “need to have one toy for each character” in my collection right now. It is a way to save money for me.
@@PerspectiveEnd true. But that rule of mine isnt always be the case tho. I always buy a prime, a megs, and bee for some reason. I have two shelves for two characters - arcee and soundwave. Soundwave is my favorite character. Oddly I have a lot of arcee figures. Those two have the most figures in my collection.
I only have 3 figures on this list. Dinobot, my first experience with the mold, and I really enjoy it, even if the colors aren't particularly my favorite. Burn Out, looks way cooler than the Skids, is really solid and fun, and I just realized they're supposed to be a woman. Road Rocket, I'm honestly surprised with how much I enjoy it, considering how much I renounced the Arcee version. The mold might not work for the character, but it works for my idea of the character. I'm gonna keep all 3, the only other ones I can see myself wanting are Scourge to act as a Nemesis Prime, Hauler, and Blurr. Maybe Terrorsaur if I'm in the right mood for it.

I dont have either of their molds, so their both my first, which should i zake, clamp down (white sideswipe) or terrorsaur?
Probably Clampdown, but if you are a BW fan then the answer switches.
Wait this thing yellows?
And you are absolutely welcome.
@@PerspectiveEnd yeah, the forearms and joints on him are a completely different color than what they're supposed to be. If it wasn't for that the figure would be stellar and it's such a stupid issue that hasbro could easily fix
Your video suddenly made me realize they never made an MP Hauler. They have Inferno and Grapple, but no Hauler. I would have liked an MP Hauler.
Same here, I like his and Artfire’s colors the best
Yeah, there are a few MPs they never made, 3p has stepped in more than once already though.
Do they need to be upside down for that? Couldn't you just use the G2 autobot logo in general.
@@PerspectiveEnd The logo can be used in general, but for some reason Hasbro is not using it. The previous Transformers figures to have the G2 Autobot logo before Scourge were the Combiner Wars G2 Aerialbots.
I love your videos so thanks for uploading so much recently
I always upload this much. I do 3 videos a week, and been doing that for 2 years now, except for like 3 months at the start of 2022.
@@PerspectiveEnd ooh it probably just feels like a lot because of school
Well, atleast you're honest about RID Scourge because others who only like the G1 version never take anything seriously lol.
That's a bit dumb of them, they probably should have saved the pain for the robot mode, even if I appreciate the way it looks now more.
i went to target the other day hoping to find the new Elita-1, (i did not, but i got bulkhead!) and i saw probably 12 of toy colors dinobot taking up 10-20% of the transformers shelf.
How do you like Bulkhead?
@@PerspectiveEnd i think he’s great!
he’s a very smart figure, but i do think two little things could be improved:
1) the shoulders and elbows are juuuust a little too tight for my liking
2) the cab chest doesn’t seem to plug in very solid. it feels like it just mushes into place
other than that he is wonderful, and as someone who loves animated and likes prime it’s super cool to finally get a figure of bulkhead!
According to the Concept art the Roadrocket was going to be female from the start. The pitch was even what if we had a female ninja Roadrocket
Then why the hell did they Androgynize the hell out of Arcee!
Glad to see this video, honestly surprised we didn't see Legacy Sandstorm.
Also I'm borrowing "pillars of height" for my legs.
I didn't pick that thing up, I don't need more versions of that mold than I have already.
My laser prime head didn't move to much aswell when I first got it but all you have to do to fix it is to push the head forward cos it wasn't put on the balljoint properly
I'm not sure I understand how you can push a ball forward in a circle, that's some 4rth dimensional geometry there.
@@PerspectiveEnd ik it's very strange but that's what happened with mine I just popped the head off to get a closer look I it gets in stuck in the mouth plate section there's a bit of space for it to fit in front of the ball joint bit it's very strange
@@PerspectiveEnd also sorry for being late to reply I never got any notification I can send pictures on Instagram or twitter something if you want
another great vid my guy...... the laugh that my girlfriend let out at 7:11 let's me know she will be watching future vids as well....keep up the great work
How did I not notice that Scourge was that out of Focus?
Anyways awesome. Thanks for sharing this with your girl.
For me it's Burnout. I didn't think I'd ever keep it, till I got it in hand.
My wild/dumb guess on why that’s the case for the US release:
Hasbro went “Hey, we got to save on some cash by not making a new show & toyline by just dubbing & localizing one. Why not use the extra cash on retooling?”. Or something like that.
@@kaylemathewcomendador6964 actually it's because the idea for 'transtech' (the sequel series to beast machines) fell through and they needed something to fill the gap)
That moment when Takara are the lazy ones and not Hasbro.
It does happen occasionally.
You ever seen prime Arms micron unicron?
black scourge prime and idw blurr are still must have whenever I have the time to drive to walmart. As for toy color terrosaur, originally had no plans of picking him up but maybe I’ll reconsider. At least the colors pop more imo
I can see why you feel that way about the other two, and yeah Terrorsaur is worth considering but I wont say you need this one.
My scourge has really loose elbow joints and chipped paint on the wheels. Also one of the smokestacks is broken before opened.
Man that sucks, Sorry to hear that, and thats in the full faced box, not one that has the danger window.
That Hauler figure looks really nice, that's gonna be the one i'll be picking up from this set first.
I mean if you can find it, the problem is that it's an exclusive so it's really what you can track down.
Yo!!!! DINOBOT is such a good repaint. I had the OG ones way back when I was a kid. He is so good and no discoloration either.
It's uncanny how much you sound like Jimmy from South Park.
I have no idea what you are on about, I don't have a speech impediment like that at all. I also talk a lot faster than he does.
The upside down logos on Scourge are called Anti-Cybertron logos. They feature when Scourge attempts to possess Fortress Maximus.
I forgot he got those as like a weird powerup.
The scourge figure suits that mold way better than G2 prime. He is amazing.
I feel like both work.
If you don’t want Clampdown, I could take him. I am actually working on a squad entirely compromised of the Sideswipe mold (ABCD Squad). I have had as much finding him as with Cosmos, so it would be appreciated.
A lot of people have already offered to buy him.
But I'll consider it.
Are you saying that Brave isn't good? I've never heard someone make that claim. I haven't seen it so I don't know.
Repaints 2: return of the palooza
Repaints 2, Electric Paloozaloo
I don’t know where you got the idea that Road Rocket had a single visor for eyes? The old box art shows individual eyes close to the new one AND the toy also has two eyes, despite they being wider and close together.
This is where I know road rocket from.
cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/770081476460937260/1018808984481841213/unknown.png
Do you think you could do a RUclips short on what the customized scourge looks like?
I haven't actually done that yet. It's too late to return him now, but I basically put him in my display in Vehicle mode after this, and haven't gotten back to him.
@@PerspectiveEnd ok
Sure, I want Scourge so I could have a Voyager-sized Nemesis Prime to go along with my Gen Selects Galvatron, but even I have to face reality, as I know I'll never be able to get it, as it (along with the others) are American exclusives.
I don't have an interest in the others.
(Also, how is Burnout a female?)
So you're NOT going to make a traffic light trio with Inferno, Grapple, and Road-Hauler?
My other black repaints (POTP Nemesis Prime, Rodimus Unicronus, Siege Soundblaster and Barricade, Earthrise Barricade, & Legacy Ironhide Guard mode) should make up for that.
Yeah Burnout is a Chick, I mean if you count the Car Bumper, those are like Z Cups.
And are there no chains in your country that carry stuff like this.
Walmart is so Ubiquitous in the US I forget that's it's not coating the world.
What do you think about the new magic square masterpiece 2.0 prime that got revealed yester day
That wasn't Revealed yesterday? I've known about it for like over a month now. I first heard about it on August 9th.
Anyways, it's going to be good, that's all I gotta say right now.
Hauler is really good, I'm glad I experienced the Inferno mould through him. I'm thinking of getting Burnout, Scourge, and Clampdown. I love the Skids mould/design, and I love the colours and new head. Clampdown will be cool as just another generic Autobot that I can have as a background character in my collection
My problem is that the Autobots don't need so many Generics, they already hugely out number the cons.
At first I was upset about the upside down G2 faction signs on Scourge, but then i realized it’s not a defect- it’s the G2 Autobot symbol. He’s evil Optimus Prime, so he’s not a decepticon, he’s an upside down autobot
it’s so cheesy and I adore it
That description is painfully Hilarious
Thank you. Glad you like it.
1:19 i look at this more and more and realise that due to the colours the arms look slightly more thicker
The only two that I still want are clampdown and road hauler. there's 20 Road Haulers at any Wal-Mart but my favorite is clampdown which there's none in a 20 mile radius
What makes you want clampdown?
well it's easy to animate and also I saw if you have five and iron works you can make a combiner and I will see if I could find the picture
also I think the mold is fun to mess around with
The upside down g2 autobot is a reference to the Rid repainted Combaticons literally just called "The New Decepticons ". It's a nice little nod but...a normal Decepticon badge would've been better
But why didn't they have autobot badges?
@@PerspectiveEnd Because their were reformatted autobots turned decepticons, so that's why
Road rockets head reminds me of Nightbird and I think that’s why I like it. Also my TWO legarcees arms both fall of but my road rocket refuses to do so, plus I like the red a lot more.
Why do you have two of them, and how did that happen to the arms. Sorry to hear about that.
@@PerspectiveEnd I got one and the arm kept falling off for no reason, so I bought a second one but the same thing happened
As an artist myself, seeing the Velocitron Speedia 500 Collection boxes cause me physical pain.
Oh I know right. It's fucking Awful. Every Graphic Design Bone in my body is screaming when I look at that.
Do you plan them to be Cons or Bots?
@@PerspectiveEnd yes? Factions don't matter much to me.
The only two guys that maybe I would like to pick up are scourge and dinobot, really nice cheesy toy looks
Yeah I get why, a lot of these are pretty uninspiring.
From the wiki:
"Hasbro designer Mark Maher noted that when it came time to determine retools for the Arcee mold, it was Takara veteran Hisashi Yuki who put forward the idea of using one of the alternate heads to redesign one of the Laser Cycles as a "female ninja", with Road Rocket ultimately being chosen."
This is freely available information and I'm not sure why you're so adamantly stating otherwise.
(Remember how leaks suggested Legacy was to be in part a return to pre-Prime Wars designs?)
The Legacy Arcee mould looks pretty feminine to me but if you don't see the mould as unambiguously female, then I'm not gonna change your mind there.
It feels slapdash to me."
And I'd agree in part there, as they confirmed they worked from the 'female ninja' mould and worked backwards to find a matching character.
That was a great Dad Joke.
Yeah Burn out is surprisingly good. And I think you will have a lot of Shots at Hauler as he's not selling great.
Can you find it anywhere else for cheaper, cause otherwise... Nah...
I do see it online but it's very rare to see for a good price
Love Hauler's DULL SURPRISE!
I think its a bit more than Dull.
Like I said the base mold is a fun one, and he's got a better color scheme.
@@PerspectiveEnd Not really sure how to reply other than thanks for responding.
I don’t know anything about RID 2001, but I did have 3 figures from it. Legends Ironhide, Mirage, and Prowl. And the only reason I bought clampdown is because it scratches my nostalgia itch for that tiny little police car transformer I took with me everywhere as a child. I hope I can find it again someday
Edit: just looked up the mold, and the deco I have is apparently from the *universe* toyline from 2003
I's crazy that I didn't notice just how much it was like the RID01 Prowl till I had it in hand.
AYO MICRO MASTERPIECE REPAINTS
I guess some of these do count as that yeah.
The toy coloured Dinobot ain't too bad, just cook with some seasoning to give it some flavour 😋
Delicious.
The boxes are meh, but I am SO glad to see TF's packed in alt-mode again. That was a QC step Hasbro should have never stopped. And I like the robot being the "surprise" toy.
In what way does that effect QC.
@@PerspectiveEnd I always figured if enough complained at the boxing stage they used to catch some issues. I never had a figure break out of the box for 20 years until they started packing in bot mode.
Might i ask what's you're favorite G1 character re-design from IDW?
They should've used ball joints on the shoulders for scourge and the original colors from the show
Yeah, I understand why everyone who's not me feels that way.
Great video as always!
Also whats with legacy being 60% exclusive, like, theres 23 mainline figures out, and theres 31 different exclusives at various stores... its getting really overwelming, expecally when mainline figures do come out and there harder to find than exclusives
Have you thought about doing the velocitron blurr mod? Where you attach the kibble to his back to better emulate his idw appearence?
Thank you very much!
Yeah, honestly this is getting more ridiculous than ER, though thankfully the exclusives have all been to the largest retail chains.

A couple of thoughts:
1) Road Rocket is better without Arcee baggage.
I think you are using the term retool wrong when it comes to Blur
He’s more of a remould where he has new parts to make him look different but nothing else is changed
A retool is where a figure is used as a base and then a ton of changes are made to the look and the transformation
Everyone seems to have a different definition of retool.
I just categorize them into different tiers, like the Dinobot is a light retool, where he got a new head, the Blur is a medium retool where they changed a lot.
Cliffjumper is a heavy retool, where they even messed with some elements of transformation.
So what are you going to do with the clampdown
Maybe sell him. Maybe return him.
I can confirm the eyes on my copy of Dinobot look a little sad too I got my copy from Target something also I picked up from Target yesterday was Studio series sideways and it's really good
Glad you are enjoying both. Interesting. Well I guess I'm not crazy unless your's eyes has that flaw too.
My route rocket figure is really good it doesn’t have any quality control issues
Glad to hear you are enjoying yours, and that it's better than mine.

Sometimes maybe. It wont necessarily HAVE to be a robot though.
I have a question, who's your favorite repaint?
Of all time, or of this group?
Of all time.
Will we get a WTB for Velocitron?

I want get hauler and artfire or what ever his name is because I missed out on grapple (thankfully) and Inferno (sadly) good vid btw didn't expect another repaint palooza so fast
Artfire is the correct name.
And thank you, I didn't expect it so fast my self.
Awwwww man the clampdown is so cool so freaking cool, and awww yea rid 01
It's definitely cooler than I anticipated, but the Autoboots don't need a version of the Seekers in my book.

Grappler? Do you mean Hauler? Either way I'm sorry to hear that.
@@PerspectiveEnd no it was the orange one I think that's the name of it
If the head on your Laser Prime doesn't pose as well as Scourge, try to push it forwards. It's likely misassembled.
I'm confused as to how I would push a Circle forward in a circle?
Yeah I know it sounds weird, it's probably not properly in it's socket mine didn't look up or down out of box, but I managed to correct it by pushing the head forward after removing it and putting it back on without seeing improvement. Of course this is a do at own risk thing, I can't know for sure if it's the same with your copy.
First Edition Voyager Optimus had a similar problem if you're familiar with that.
The Upside down G2 Autobot symbols are the symbol of his faction in Car robots.
The Destrongers, yeah that is really what they are called. think, less destron and more Anti-autobots, a subversion
of Autobots rather than just a plain destron.
I've been told it's based on a tooling mistake by Takara.
Hauler kind of feels like an apology from Hasbro
like they're saying "Ok we know we screwed up with Grapple so here, have 3 other versions of this mold with the pegs fixed, more paint and characters people have been begging for modern versions of like Artfire and Hauler"
It could also just be that they realize those would sell due to fan demand.
6:21 hauler I hardly know her
What is Hawing in this context? You've Hawed her, what is that?
These overpriced repaints are the only new thing in my local stores shelves for the past month. The only new mold that showed up was Jhiaxus and I had already ordered him by the time I found him. (With the price hike they're cheaper online anyway.)

I understand why you are gunning for that, but for a non character like her and Skidz a Chug figure does me good.

Glad to hear this version didn't put you off it.
Burn out does look way cooler.
And hey, glad to hear that you are enjoying Roadrocket more than me.
