Also, yes. I'm gonna rip BOTH your ears off. Toxitron had an awesome back story in Mayhem. Tortured experiment cooked up by the sadistic jagoffs Oil Slick and Loud Pedal. The Wreckers were the first people to treat him with basic decency.
Loser double-comment I know, but I’ve only been collecting since mid-2022, and the LG Arcee mold’s transformation feels SUPER unique and fun to me, making me wonder if maybe its steps were more common before the John Warden era. As it stands, the way her legs kinda fold PAST her torso and then go BACK to make the rear wheels, with the seat formed from a mashup of torso and pelvis that really hides her robot mode well, is all very distinct from anything I’ve done with a WFC/Legacy figure. Not meant as like some kind of objection, just fascinated to know if maybe your apathy toward it is because her kind of contortionist transformation was maybe more common back in the T30/Classics/etc. days
So let’s see here: Nickelodeon prime, Australian Mirage, happy Dead End, 90’s sideswipe, Cheeto’s Jazz, Weak bladder Arcee, the Scooby doo crossover, silver burnout, and banana grimlock
The hound weapons that come with Jazz are intended to combine and peg into his back to give him a shoulder-mounted cannon like the G2 concept art he's based off of It's a bit too far back to be "shoulder mounted" but they did try
Laser Cycle is a "he" - it's based off of yet another unreleased concept for Jazz. The reason the Legacy Prime Arcee's mold is so androgynous (which is the actual reason why people hated it) was so that it could be used as a female character for Prime Arcee (and Flamewar) and as a male character for Road Rocket - and now Laser Cycle Jazz.

I wish he wasn't a repaint with a new head from existing mold, and look more like his RID2001 self. But at the same time, like the new look. -Crosscut is cool. Honestly like this mold over Skids.
Toxitron's colors aren't as good in person. These colors on Deadend's robot mode with the altmode of the normal one would be great. Agreed the Tiger Stripes needed to not stop.
I feel the same about Towline, the scraphook mold doesn't fit him. He looks strange and out of place, not a big fan on the Laser prime mold, he looks good but a little skinny at the shoulders, I don't mind the look of it but it looks strange on the RID Scourge repaint
Just picked up the sideswipe last weekend and i love him! As soon as i saw those colors in person on a store peg i grabbed it instantly and a week later im still in love with the deco!
Toxitron has a complicated history. Basically he was a figure intended as a Universe repaint of G2 Prime/RID 2000 Scourge, but got cancelled. Then Botcon did their CW rendition of him and built upon the little bit of lore he had being an experimental clone of Optimus Prime who seeped toxic sludge from every orifice in his body with a whacked-out mind to match. Dorito Jazz importing some racing stripe flavor ends up looking really rad too, and the added color breakup on Pis-Cee takes it from bleh up to meh, if you didn't get rid of her already. Watermelon Mirage gets his gator stuff covered up with a lot of blobby lava lamp themes details, making him into an interesting OC instead of a random repaint where they threw darts at the neon color wheel, so that's kind of cool. The leadwers are the big disappointment of the lot, in that Grimlock doesn't include any more teal stripes to deck out his dino legs/bot arms or flanks/wings. I've been seriously considering picking him up now that he's started going on sale, but if I do I'll have to get some pearlized teal paint and handle that myself I guess. Toxitron meanwhile does add his name in big jagged 90s appropriate crazy letters down the side of the trailer and a bunch of cables and displays inside for its base mode, but just the usual scattering of G1-toy-like random greeble stickers and coverups for the transparent plastic to the cab/robot. I guess he's consistent in his disappointment? At least he's a different character to justify keeping a copy of the mold when I have the original versions of Laser OP and Nemesis Convoy and the WFCS/E toys are both better versions of Optimus Prime, though. Oh, and apparently according to convention comics lore he's working with the Wreckers because the Decepticons used him as an experimental subject and he wants to krump themwith the hate of a whole WAAAGH of 40k orks, and also latched onto them as the first bots to interact with him after a long damn while stuck conscious but frozen in place or something typically TF comics grimderpy. My 40k reference was intentional.
I saw them, they were pretty cool, but I can't say that I love the figure enough to want to put more money into it. I agree, Grimlock needed more stripes. That's a strange story they gave him as thats not super like the Toxic avenger at all, since he wasn't a bad dude before getting mutated.
Agreed about Tow-Line; I had to sand down the peg holding the front bumper/feet together, and I tend to put the exhaust pipes up from the side doors as smokestacks [and disappointingly I haven’t seen the Toxitron line on Walmart shelves/pegs yet]
I have obtained gamer edition Beakertron and Cliffjumper. Both are not good, though Beakertron is somewhat less... unless you count the pointless knee joints.
With this new line I was excited for it mainly because I wanted to get the grimlock since I missed out on it, to me this line is for those that missed out on some of the molds like grimlock, jazz, mirage which is great, the line to me is good but I understand the criticisms on it
I got Dorito Jaz and Watermelon Mirage, and am still hoping to find Lemonwipe close to MSRP rather than 2-3x aftermarket markup. Jazz I used a little metallic lime green paint to pick out his visor (and WOW does that ever make it pop more) and he's easily entered into my favorites. Mirage, well, mostly makes me long for one in his normal colors, and think about busting out the 5mm drill bit to put a hole for his missile launcher to mount to in the tire that ends up behind his right shoulder. Lemonwipe... it's that sunset paint app. That's it, the whole thing that draws me to this figure. Why do I have to have such bad taste, and why do I not care? Ah well. At least it's the version of the mold I don't have yet, unlike the other four copies of Siegeswipe (original red, Diaclone yellow, G2 black, and "G2 Diaclone" blue editions) and I guess you can count Gigawatt too.
O don't see how you can argue that. Their feet work the exact same way, their legs work the exact same way, their separation gimmick works the exact same way, their Shoulders work the exact same way, their forearms work the exact same way. They are clearly the same skeleton.
@@PerspectiveEnd I agree with that, but Dragstrip and Dead End have slight differences in their transformations. Dragstrip needs his waist rotated, the fronts of his car on his shoulders rotated, and his head unit rotated. Meanwhile Dead End doesn’t, but needed what is the front of his car mode hinges back for his head, the hood hinged forward, and doesn’t need his waist to be rotated 180.
Grimlock looks like a boss in bot mode but the trex mode kinda feel a lil bit cheap. I guess it needs more blue stripes or just blue, cuz the yellow color falls off in trex mode imo. It's just unappealing, or they can just give him a slightly darker tone of yellow in order to make his t-rex mode worth the price.
I think I remember hearing this Toxitron was meant to be RID2001 scourge who was killed and had his corpse turned into Toxitron. So he’s basically a acid zombie
I saw how newage interpreted the paint job for Bananalock. There was a silver stripe where the ride stripe should be in the dino torso, here's way more of the pattern on the tail and shouldeers/dinolegs and there's just generally way more blue spread around than he Legacy one. It's really just a sea of yellow on this one @_@
Great video PerspectiveEnd!!! Will you also get Cloudcover? My favorite figures from this subline are Toxitron. Laser Cycle. and Cloudcover. due to them not being G2 versions of G1 characters. lol Keep on being amazing.
At this point no. I did my Repaints Palooza, and I forgot he exists. I'm not going to pick him up now that I'm looking to offload most of the wave again.

So, I may be wrong about this, but I believe Toxitron was one of Shockwaves experiments (hence the Decepti-Badge) who had corrosive properties. I think it was one of the comics that had him defect to the Wreckers and form the combiner.
@@PerspectiveEndThat's why they gave Siege jetfire the ability to switch his logos, also this is supposed to be his Universe release that was cancelled
I couldn't get deadend on hasbro pulse US and haven't been able to find him in stores, but hasbro pulse EU still had him in stock and my German friend is coming to visit next month, so I got it shipped to her.
I bought Toxitron because I didn't have a version of that figure yet and for the most part I really liked him. He is flawed, but I can look past it for how fun he is, though yeah that transformation can suck a little. Grimlock I found on shelves once so far, but I already have the 86 version and I didn't think there was enough tiger striping on the G2 version so I skipped that one. I'm happy some other collector will probably be getting that version though. It's one of my all time favorite figures too
The only thing I know about toxitron is that he was apparently a cancelled universe toy, I just think of him as this strange experiment that neither side of the war can knows who made him, he just showed up. I also like to call his stuff the might of sour candy
Out of all of these I would probably want the Toxitron, and Towline the most. Mirage I'm going to wait for the Crasher repack going into next year which now gives me a reason to order that Gobots pack if still available. I did come across most of the deluxe figures December last year and almost decided on Jazz, Sideswipe, and Deadend but I instead got SS Nightbird, and Mirage as I wanted something a bit more involved, and devisive. i do not regret my decision. .
I went to Walmart while on a West Virginia vacation just this past weekend and stumbled across Toxitron and Grimlock. Unfortunately, it was only a pit stop, and I didn't have enough for a leader. One day I'll own a Grimlock. One day. (i also got paid the very next day. just salt in the wound)
I in no way think g2 has the most pleasing color scheme, but this is so retroactively 90s that I just couldn't but pick up one, which was my boy "Orange Jazz". Now if could only get g2 dreadwing. His gatling gun is ILLIN after all
I actually really like the colors on the grimmy boi. I think they work way better in hand than they do on video. I also have a “shiny thing good” caveman brain, and I LIVE for the chest and head shinies. Also really like the banana mode.
@@PerspectiveEnd My pleasure, as always. BTW: Thanks to this vid, and a little luck, I picked up the G2 Mirage at Walmart earlier. I haven’t gotten around to grabbing the Kingdom version yet, so I figured, why not get a cool looking place holder. Seeing the colors in person didn’t hurt the decision, either.
@@PerspectiveEnd I've just noticed that the G1 Sideswipe had a spoiler, as did the original black G2 Sideswipe figure. Wonder why they left it off of this repaint one?
interesting (at least to me) that the boxart for g2 sideswipe as the correct head and normal colored face unlike the actual figure. Cloudcover is also semi interesting to me being he's a g2 conehead. If he was just the regular er starscream repaint I would care even less.
Ngl i like toxitron And i love how they handled him in the animated comics and made him like bizarro and made him say sentences backwards like him too I mean he basically is a pseudo optimus so it would make sense why
I absolutely love all of these except for pissy diapered Laser Cycle. G2 is my jam honestly, so this subline is just hitting me right. Totally gonna display these guys along with my other G2 figures.
I think Cloudcover would have been cooler if they'd made him an Autobot. Give him blue eyes and an Autobot insignia, etc. Because Cloudcover never existed as a character before this toy was announced, and the Seeker Jet body-type is a pretty iconic design next to the Optimus Prime truck. We've had evil/Decepticon versions of Optimus Prime (Nemesis Prime), Hound (Detritus), Wheeljack (Exhaust/Malboor); but never a good guy/Autobot version of the seeker mould. Hasbro loves making new seeker jet characters, but it never crosses their minds to make them into Autobots; and whenever a new Decepticon seeker is introduced, it comes off as such an unremarkable filler character. EDIT: Sorry, I just realised Cloudcover's not in this video. But nonetheless, if he was marketed as an Autobot, I'd probably get him. The rest of these figures are pretty cool!
It would have been interesting to see an autobot using the seeker mold, but it would have been inaccurate to the original release that it was supposed to be, originally it was supposed to be another variant of ramjet but they decided that it'll be nice to make it a knew character
Only wanted a few from this sub line being Mirage and Grimlock. This Grimlock was pretty hard to find in stores, didn't want to buy it overpriced online.
I cant believe they gave sideswipe red alerts head. I was gonna get this guy and watermelon mirage to go with dorito jazz but im not sure due to the wrong head
just popping back onto this video with another observation on the Toxitron/Recolour Subline. Why 5 Autobot figures and just the three Decepticons? They can't even square off and have a fair fight on my toy shelf.
If that new TFA Optimus figure isn't repainted into Toxitron then the planet will cease turning. Long live Botcon and FunPub.

Agreed about Tow-Line; I had to sand down the peg holding the front bumper/feet together, and I tend to put the exhaust pipes up from the side doors as smokestacks [and disappointingly I haven’t seen the Toxitron line on Walmart shelves/pegs yet]
It's insane just how tightly those fuse.
That's odd, my copy doesn't have that issue. The peg is just tight enough to hold the feet together, perhaps the QC gremlin has struck once again?
I have obtained gamer edition Beakertron and Cliffjumper. Both are not good, though Beakertron is somewhat less... unless you count the pointless knee joints.
Beakertron has some really good qualities to it for a figure. But those knees. What where they thinking?
Fun fact: Laser Cycle is actually meant to be an unreleased Jazz figure, but they changed his name in order to not confuse people with Dorito Jazz.
That's bizarre?
@@PerspectiveEnd There was also a Laser Cycle Soundwave figure planned, but it got cancelled along with Laser Cycle Jazz.
@@BertoBoihopefully we'll see that soundwave when they release roadpig
Like that tmnt ooze color plastic toxitrons weapons are using
Indeed, that's more what these all should have been like.
Honestly the Repaints Poleeza Threeza isn’t that bad of a video title
It's a terrible title. Come on.
Laser cycle is based off of an unreleased g2 jazz toy
With this new line I was excited for it mainly because I wanted to get the grimlock since I missed out on it, to me this line is for those that missed out on some of the molds like grimlock, jazz, mirage which is great, the line to me is good but I understand the criticisms on it
Were you able to find a Grimlock.
Yes I was able to get one from hasbro pulse when they re stocked, I'm so happy to finally own grimlock
Grimlock. For you, a perfect example of "too much of a good thing is a bad thing" except it's average instead of bad
I picked up Tequila Sunset Sideswipe specifically because of this video. He's probably my favorite version of the mold now.
He does have something going for him that the others don't.
11:08 CROSSCUT MY BABY
I take it you are a crosscut fan?
@@PerspectiveEnd why yes I am-
I just swooned over his visage in his first panel in mtmte~ ( im trying to talk like tarn lol 😭)
I freaking love the sideswipe mold. I found the Red Alert repaint at a Walgreens for 2 bucks and it was worth every penny.
Honestly I hadn't considered putting the hole in the tire. That's a solid idea.
8:38 are u gonna review that 5 pack with 86 hound?
I was not planning on that no.
10:36 I skipped the og junkion version of this blokebut these colors rock
It does sell it self well.
i wouldn't Mind Jazz, cloudcover, toxitron and grimlock but the rest can die
wait where was cloudCover?
The "mystery machine" is apparently a new toy of a RID 2001 character and the ultimate goal of the designer when he made the mold...
That man has a diseased mind then.
9:48 A fellow Natural Habitat Shorts enjoyer.
Indeed!
4:19 I don’t think Dead End is a retool of Dragstrip.
Meanwhile Dead End doesn’t, but needed what is the front of his car mode hinges back for his head, the hood hinged forward, and doesn’t need his waist to be rotated 180.
with the arcee repaint, the pose you put it in only makes it better. its like its doing a pelvic thrust
Hasbro, on Tow-Line looking like the Mystery Machine: "We'd have gotten away with it, if it weren't for you meddling kids!"
... PerspectiveEctvie End?
Grimlock looks like a boss in bot mode but the trex mode kinda feel a lil bit cheap. I guess it needs more blue stripes or just blue, cuz the yellow color falls off in trex mode imo. It's just unappealing, or they can just give him a slightly darker tone of yellow in order to make his t-rex mode worth the price.
Agreed. The stripes were vital to go all the way up, otherwise it just doesn't feel finished.
Yeah they tried more with it, though I still think they didn't go far enough.
@@PerspectiveEnd I like the metalic paint they used for the blue more. But yeah not as hard as they coulda.
@@PerspectiveEnd I understand. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for shining a black light on these, as I call them, "Crayola" Transformers! lol :D
I picked up the Toxitron Grimlock because of your review of the Studio Series. Genuinely fantastic but I can understand why the repaint doesn't do it for you. I do agree that it should have had more tiger stripes.
Nice! I'm glad to hear you got it. One thing you can say for it, is that it is a way to get that excellent mold.
These all looks sick! I’m not gonna buy all of them but most of them
Which one's you after?
@@PerspectiveEndwas only able to get Toxi-trim but that’s fine
So perspective should i get the cyclonus two pack with nightstic or should i look for something else? Thanks if u reply ur vids are awesole i always laugh at the roast series😅
Happy to do it. If you like the look of that version it's an excellent figure and I'm sure you'd love it.
@@PerspectiveEnd alright thank you persective
Finally! Repaints Palooza 3!!! 🎉🎉🎉
Glad you are so entertained.
So, I may be wrong about this, but I believe Toxitron was one of Shockwaves experiments (hence the Decepti-Badge) who had corrosive properties. I think it was one of the comics that had him defect to the Wreckers and form the combiner.
I mean Skyfire was originally a Con but he's got an autobadge?
@@PerspectiveEndThat's why they gave Siege jetfire the ability to switch his logos, also this is supposed to be his Universe release that was cancelled
I couldn't get deadend on hasbro pulse US and haven't been able to find him in stores, but hasbro pulse EU still had him in stock and my German friend is coming to visit next month, so I got it shipped to her.
Man that is some hoops you had to jump through.
It's one of my all time favorite figures too
Yeah, if he's your first version then he'll be pretty good.
I did come across most of the deluxe figures December last year and almost decided on Jazz, Sideswipe, and Deadend but I instead got SS Nightbird, and Mirage as I wanted something a bit more involved, and devisive. i do not regret my decision. .
For a second there I had to think real hard who Towline was.
Why were you after something Divisive?
I love this Grimlock so much.
RIP Cloudcover. I’m sure you would’ve loved it
I'm sure I would have hated it, if I remembered it existed.
Something I noticed missing was cloud cover
Yeah I forgot that thing existed.
Man that sucks. Sorry to hear you couldn't grab a Grimsby for your self.
I in no way think g2 has the most pleasing color scheme, but this is so retroactively 90s that I just couldn't but pick up one, which was my boy "Orange Jazz".
Now if could only get g2 dreadwing. His gatling gun is ILLIN after all
I tend to not like G2 Colors much my self.
I would definitely pick up that dread wing, as long as there's smoke screan because we all know he's a 2 in 1 villain that's chillin
I actually really like the colors on the grimmy boi. I think they work way better in hand than they do on video. I also have a “shiny thing good” caveman brain, and I LIVE for the chest and head shinies. Also really like the banana mode.
I wish the colors were working more on me. I thought I'd be mesmerized by it, but I'm really not.
I definitely want that g2 marvel comics red alert it's nice to see what he looks like before he was killed in the comics
My “LIKE”! Given!
Thank you kind sir!
Finally a toy line that is asking for some taco bell donkey mudslide.
Finally got my hands in Grimlock and I love him probably bc I passed on the one ss86 one I ever saw but man he’s so much fun
Yeah the 86 Mold is Amazing, so having any form of it is a good thing.
Isn’t cloud cover (cone head repaint) supposed to be in this line too?
I forgot he exists.
Re: Sideswipe's 'missing' spoiler.
The mould, rightly or wrongly, seems to be based on the Lamborghini Countach LP400, which never had a spoiler.
But the Character had one.
I forgot Cloud Cover exists.
Ngl i like toxitron
And i love how they handled him in the animated comics and made him like bizarro and made him say sentences backwards like him too
I mean he basically is a pseudo optimus so it would make sense why
My towlines arms almost always pops off when I try to transform it, I also wish they gave towline his own mold, here’s hoping for an energon version
The Jazz figure should have came with a bag of Doritos
Would have made more sense than Hound's guns.
I absolutely love all of these except for pissy diapered Laser Cycle.
G2 is my jam honestly, so this subline is just hitting me right. Totally gonna display these guys along with my other G2 figures.
You mean Pisscee Diapered Laser Cycle.
It is weird as to why Jazz has pissed all over him self, to make it worse it even glows under black light. Who came up with that idea
Yknow, i kinda like how the grimlock looks like the shattered glass version in blacklight
Hah, it kind of does.
These figures are really cool I like the colors. Out of them i'd probably only want to get toxitron and the bike
A lot of the colors here look better on camera than they do in person.
@@PerspectiveEnd Which ones look the worst to you?
I don’t know why I just love these neon figures because they’re just so stupid and I love them, I have the mirage but I sorta want them all
I do understand that. There is something fun about it.
Did you find the Grimlock?
@@PerspectiveEnd indeed I did. 👍
If you look at the unreleased G to Jazz, he has an extra gun I don’t know why they gave him two new guns though
Interesting. Begs the question why they felt he was the only one to get right like that.
I cant believe they gave sideswipe red alerts head. I was gonna get this guy and watermelon mirage to go with dorito jazz but im not sure due to the wrong head
Wait... I didn't even think of that!
I don't know if anyone else thought this but I think the image on dead end's door is supposed to be a bullet.
One other person mentioned that, and I can only see that in the vaguest of terms.
just popping back onto this video with another observation on the Toxitron/Recolour Subline.
Why 5 Autobot figures and just the three Decepticons?
They can't even square off and have a fair fight on my toy shelf.
I mean that's pretty much the way it always goes. Lots of Bots, like no Cons.
