Nintendo ALWAYS comes out with a console bundle for Animal Crossing so I kind of predicted it. At least you can buy a skin on etsy so you can transform your switch!

It confuses me why America doesn't get the game with the console... If I'm buying a console based on a game, I expect that game to come with it

Some people don’t like download codes and they want physical copy games still. 🤷🏻♀️ Personally I prefer not to have the game bundled with it even if you save like $10 because I would have bought a physical game regardless if I got a code. Probably would have sold the code if it was bundled in.
Caulifleurs I don’t mind physical copies but with my new leaf after years of having it, it didn’t load up onto the main screen unless I continuously tried, so I had to buy a code and transfer the town over to the new one, that’s why I rather have the code this time round.
It ain't really all that confusing when you realize that Nintendo's just being greedy here towards it's US customers.
How does this make any sense? If it had the game on it the price of the switch would be $60 higher.

i think thats just an NA thing. i live in Europe in the Netherlands and mine comes with the game included. it is a seperate download code which i am not a fan of. i like my games physical. Unfortunatly i can't find the switch witouth the game, i can only buy with the game included. which also means i have to wait for the 20th.

I don't think Nintendo wants anyone to place the dock sideways even if the special edition picture was looking up. The logo is on top this time because they couldn't put it on the front and on the top you can see it when docking and undocking. Also the rubber feet are only on the bottom, making the orientation for the dock a certainty.
I can't wait to hold it in my hands. I agree that this one went farther than pretty much all other special editions. And all for the same 300 dollar price and the improved battery life?! It was a no brainer and I am not surprised the reorders went fast and stores won't have it for long.
The special edition that DOESNT include the game is released a week before the special edition that DOES include the game.
Probably just a download for the game... I prefer physical.

Hey man if you want to make your current switch look exactly like the animal crossing edition but dont want to buy another console just for it, then go check out "Dammit Jeff" on youtube, he teaches you how to mod it the exact same

The story of how I got mine is pretty wild.
So I'd been meaning to get a Switch ever since it was first announced but I never had a good opportunity between not having enough time or money. Flash forward ~3 ish years and the stars are finally aligning just in time for this special edition which conveniently became my hyper-fixation with all of the ACNH hype. Unfortunately by the time I realized "oh shit this could actually be a reality" pre-orders were all sold out and the only way to get this thing was to pick it up in store on release day. I had tabs for gamestop, target, walmart (which crashed altogether) and bestbuy open by midnight just in case one of the sites crashed. But then I realized that it wouldn't drop until *3 am* in my timezone. I was a little bummed but still determined. I set multiple alarms for myself but used none of them as the anticipation alone was able to keep me up 'til witching hour. 3 am, target's page updates, I check my local store aaaaand
"4 units left in stock"
"Not accepting online orders at this time"
The groan I made after reading this was enough to spook my cat. Target wouldn't open it's doors until 7am and my classes started at 7:30, by the time I would have gotten back the switch would be sold out. I had no other choice than to get up early and be at Target the moment their doors open, so I set more alarms and tried to get some sleep.
6:45 am, 1 unit left in stock: fueled by 2 hours of sleep and shitty toaster waffles, I make the drive up to Target (which fortunately was on the way to my school) and wait. There was one other car in the parking lot at I arrive and I took one look at its driver and I knew he was after it too. I got antsy so I stepped out into the rain to wait by the door, the guy (Trench coat) soon followed suit. As 7am grew closer, more cars started to arrive, but they were just there to stock up before Quarantine, none of them had the *vibes* that Trench coat and I had.
Doors open and I remember that I barely know the layout of this Target and as I'm trying to find out where the electronics section is Trench coat disappears. I scan through the aisles and nothing, typical, so I start looking for an employee when I see Trench coat beat me to it. A lady leads him towards storage and I tail them, lurking around the shelves like a creepy girl in a horror movie and wait. The lady comes back from the storeroom with one Switch and I dead ass thought I would have to prove my worth to this veteran gamer and this target employee or else all of this would be for nothing. As she's walking to the register with Trench coat I sheepishly ask
"Is that the last one left?"
"No, there's one more in stock, do you want one too?"
Words can not express how happy I was hearing those words. The stars were in a perfect line. I could feel god wink at me, it was amazing.

I got mine in a similar situation. Gamestop said they would be getting 4, opening at 10. I'm parked at the doors at 830. There are two cars parked with a pretty girl in each. I figured if they had 4 and its us 3, I don't have anything to worry about. At 9 I get out first, and the girls follow suit a minute later. Come to find out they had been waiting 4 hours and 7 hours respectively. I told them of course I'd have to let them go first. 10 minutes before open a man comes and then a woman comes. Doors open, its 2 girls, me, guy not getting, lady getting, and guy #6. I get mine and there's one more. Lady gets hers and guy #6 out of nowhere is like thats the last one??? His face had desperation I've never seen before.

BoredCore {} I did the same thing. I would not watch this until I got mine. I was the only person to get one from my EB games, they only got one in, the rest were for people who pre-ordered.

I am sad when people buy a limited addition of something and say they are not a fan of it. That is one switch that a real fan of animal crossing will miss out on. :(

The Joycons and the dock look really nice, but I really wish Nintendo would do more with the Switch itself than some silver printing on the back. The matte black system itself really clashes with the Joycons and the dock, it would be a heck of a lot better if it were the same white of the dock. I am always left disappointed when I see these special edition systems and the Switch itself is still the same matte black with silver printing on the back. If random sellers on Amazon can make decent quality replacement shells for the Switch and sell them cheaply, Nintendo can definitely offer something more substantial with these editions.

@Mike UK Not really. In the UK It was £320 with the game. The regular V2 is £280. So you're only paying £40 extra for a limited edition console PLUS game. I paid £42 for the game alone.

Lis they mostly likely won’t restock it at all, since a few people have confirmed that it’s a limited edition, so your best bet would be to buy it on eBay for the cheapest price you can find (which is about $420 - $470). i might be wrong though, since it doesn’t actually say it’s limited edition, it just says special edition, but still, i wouldnt get my hopes up.
@@leumbi I tried to get one at launch but because of work I made it to the store a little late. They sold out in 20 minuets! I mentally went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted to risk waiting for a restock or pay the inflated price on Ebay. I caved and got one from Ebay. 😭

I read it somewhere that this is not a limited but special edition therefore there will be more, whether it’s true idk although i do hope it is correct infor and that i will get downloadable code for the game with it too as i love this edition. Wanted to buy it once already but as soon as they restocked it i got out of stock everywhere around me again...🙄

I just got mine from my local Target. I went in to pickup some items and thought I try my luck. I'm extremely lucky because I didn't even preorder it.

Great looking switch. I mostly buy special edition console because I like having one not everybody else has. Like battlefield v Xbox or destiny ps4. But when I bought my switch 6 months ago I didn’t find anything that caught my eye. So I bought one with blue and red joycons and then bought 2 grey joycons cheap and swapped the joycons to white and changed back of switch to white. I really enjoy the outcome of my choices.

@@timothyle4248 when I got it it seemed new and everything but the box was like fat like if they had opened it and tried to put things back in it but they didn’t put them right but everything looked new I didn’t pay attention to things like scratches on everything just looked at the screen saw it was good and I used it

As a person with mild OCD I'd love a symmetric version other than the grey one.
It was "nice" of Nintendo to offer joycon sets with switch colors, but I thing the is a market for one color or symmetric Switches. Joy cons with more than one color but mirrored would look awesome.

This switch sold out of preorders in 20 mins from all major retailers when it was first announced. So much so that peoples preorder got canceled. My preorder from Target and GameStop was canceled. To make things worst other authentic dealers are selling it for upmarked prices. They are going now for 600 USD+. I had to pay 400 for mine on eBay and idek if I got it yet. Luckily today at Target I was one of 8 people to get one as I waited 2 hrs before opening and was told they had 8 available and it wasn’t for preorders and was first come first serve as they didn’t do preorders.
Meanwhile we in the eu have to wait another week to be able to pick it up😭
