My apple Pencil after a low fall stopped responding to the touch but still charges and still appears the percentage of the battery, on the outside does not seem to have affected anything, will it be lost forever? :(

The info is awesome thank you. But still you could share where you get the parts. As you can see this is no walk in the park fix so only a full hand of people might get the courage to do this. So "normal" people will still look for you to fix theirs. What i mean is why not sharing where one can buy the battery and plastic cover since you wont loose your job by doing so?

I bought one brand new but seller didn’t say it was old stock. Don’t buy without asking how long has it been stored. Apparently the battery dies after months/ years no charge.
This pencil is good, I mean incomparable in performance. But Apple engineers made a bad job with battery issues. I have 2x bad experience, same as above.. no bluetooth no charging.

Apple don't want you to fix or replace defective parts, they want you to buy a brand new Apple Pen each time. Pure corporate greed. It is time the UK or EU teaches greedy companies like Apple some ethnical business manners as they mistakenly think we all have disposable incomes.
Where do u get the parts from?
From Backdoor vendors and knock offe from Ali Express. He can't say it since not authorized dealer. They end up on eBay and sold in India and SE Asia as legit Apple products.
I can’t remove the lightning cable and battery from the metal body. Seems like a lot more glue is being used to glue the battery to the metal body. I don’t think any recent pencils are meant to be repaired or battery replace, going to throw away my spare battery and new body sleeve. Sigh…

Yes, I tried. I was very motivated by your video and spent 13 USD to get the tube and battery from Shoppee Singapore. I had previously replaced Iphone 4,5,6,Xr,11 batteries, replace some screens and cameras. I was very confident, but the Pencil 1 was impossible to repair, I managed to cut the white tube, use hair dryer and remove the flex cable and unscrew the 1.3 or 1.4 mm screw. But removing the battery and lightning connector from the metal sleeves was not possible. I think a lot more glue or a metal catch could have been added to retain the battery to the body. At the end, the top component connected to the lighting connector was damaged due to prying. I gave up after 30 mins of prying and lifting.

Fun fact, I bought my apple pencil 7 years ago off ebay. If your pencil is dead apple will swap it out with a refurbished one for $29. When I went to apple store to do it, they told me I had a stolen display model apple pencil lol... the guy who sold it to me on ebay swiped it from an apple store.
But bottom line, for your average joe who doesn't have a stack of supplies, tools, and the skill to do this repair... just pay the $29 to apple for a "new" pencil.
Contacted Apple, they sent me to a licensed service who told me to buy a new pen as they don’t repair the 1st gen…

@@Neddoest just look it up online. It’s on apples website. $29 for battery replacement. Free if you have AppleCare+
Europe ought to enact legislation compelling Apple to design their products in a way that allows consumers, the eventual owners, to upgrade and repair items such as Apple Pencils or MacBooks on their own without the need to destroy half the product. This company appears to operate under the assumption that everyone has disposable income and could certainly benefit from learning some ethical business manners.
