    Thank you. I came here looking for information on the BackJoy before buying it.
    It's strange that so many of the BackJoy models I see for sale aren't even listed on their website! This video just confirmed I shouldn't buy any of them - thanks!

      MindHunger I just did a review on another Backjoy product that I actually like. You can find it on my Backjoy Playlist or in my product review Playlist. It is the SitzRight wedge cushion. You will see why I like it, but you might let me know what you are looking for and I can tell you if the wedge cushion or Egg Sitter is better for you. I always recommend using the tennis ball, but you can see that in one of my videos as well in the Backjoy Playlist.

    thank you for this. I bought one with the smart sit. I work from home now due to pandemic. But even so, being in the IT industry is the worst for my back. I really have a bad posture all the time. So I find backjoy useful. But in the future, when sitting properly is automatic to me, I may not use it anymore.

    Thank you so much for the video. I wasn't sure how I felt about the product from the Amazon reviews, but your video was immensely informative. : 3

If you have any questions on what might be right for your needs, let me know. FYI...I have a 10-week posture program on Saturdays starting in September and weekly classes to support your posture. Check out my website for more info.

    I followed your instructions but don't feel any difference at all. It doesn't prop me up, hold me up or do anything at all.

    • @theposturespecialist3LM

      mzh1901 I didn't feel a huge difference either. I was a bit disappointed with this product, but wanted to give a couple of ideas for people to try and make it work. I think it may only work with certain body types. It is not designed to hold us up, which is what I tried to convey in the video. It just shifts the pelvis so people don't round their low back. But I believe I showed in the video that I was still able to round my back by slumping my upper body. A lumbar cushion or the Egg Sitter folded might be better for you until you get your core abdominal muscles repatterned to stay propped up without tiring. I have a review video on the Egg Sitter. Keep me posted and feel free to email me if you have other qts. Take care! theposturespecialist@gmail.com

      @@theposturespecialist3LM Personally, I can't really say it helps a ton because as you said it lacks lumbar support, which when paired with a straight-backed plastic chair doesn't really fix my posture and I still have to make an effort to remind myself to correct my posture (which I suppose everyone should be doing with or without a posture fixer haha). But I suppose I can say it isn't bad either, and for its portability and price, I suppose it's worth considering. Anyway, most of my pain comes from my shoulders due to hours of typing so I guess I can survive without it.

      @@abunchofiguanaswithinterne2186 Thank you for the feedback. It does make sense. Posture correction does take a lot of work. Please consider attending a zoom class if you can and maybe the theracane class on Thursdays as we do a lot with shoulders, back, and neck. First class is free. Take care!

    Until when is it normal to experience muscle fatigue while using this product for the first time?

    • @theposturespecialist3LM
      @theposturespecialist3LM  4 года назад +2

      It is going to be a little different for each person depending on age, fitness level, postural discrepancies, injury/pain/illness, weight and potentially other factors. So I can't give you an exact timeline. If you are going to use this product, I would highly recommend sitting on it for 15-20 min and taking a break for 30 minutes and then repeating this for the first week with slow increased time increments of 5-10 minutes (while practicing the 3-Lock Mountain-for optimal postural outcomes). Outside of using this product, I would encourage a daily core routine that will keep strengthening your core muscles so you are less fatigued when using this product. As a side note...I tell my clients that it will take 6-9 months of practicing the 3LM before the core fatigue subsides. Hopefully the BackJoy company is doing their own research to provides honest outcome numbers for people who haven't done posture work (like myself) since I am not a good subject to use as a measure for people who have no posture work experience already. Hope this helps.

      Sorry just seeing this...it will depend upon fitness level/deconditioned state, degree of postural dysfunction, what activity is being done while wearing it, and how long it is worn. Could be 30-min to a few hours, on average. But there is no real evidence or study to back my statement, so it is my professional estimate. Really good question. I may do a video about this. Do you mind if I use your name and quote your question in my video? Thanks!!

    Have you tried this product? What was your experience?

      Hi! I have a herniated disc in L5-S1. And this is the first decent review I've come across for this product after days or research.
      I understand the cons but over a longer period does it force you to have a better posture. And would it work better than similar priced lumbar belts for pain relief and posture?

    • @theposturespecialist3LM
      @theposturespecialist3LM  6 лет назад +1

      Shivakant Menon Thank you! Most posture changes are going to make our back tired and a little sore, regardless the product. With that said, people with herniations, if pain accompanies, will need to balance pain and muscle soreness as muscles are built and repatterned using this product.
      As long as you understand that, yes, it will help with your lower posture resetting (provided you have a body type that works with the size of this product. I'm not as confident with larger frames).
      But you can still lose your diaphragm lock and throat lock (see my 3-Lock Mountain video)...or you middle and upper posture areas. So for long term, you might need this and a brace for your upper back to be complete if you have postural discrepancies in your upper back and shoulders.
      Did that make sense? Messenger me on FB if it doesn't and we can do a quick call for it.
