You gave me a great idea too, instead of saving 1/2 the cake mix for later, my daughter & I just made "2" dump cakes, with a twist.......1/2 blackberry and 1/2 cherry, in each pan. One pan for our house, the other pan to "share" with a neighbor! Both pans are baking now!!!! Will also share a handy tip too, when slicing butter, use a "cheese slicer"......works like a charm!!!! I absolutely love dump cakes...so quick and easy, and absolutely delicious. I've never tried a blackberry one before though. I will have to correct that! 😊

If you didn't can pie filling but have canned fruit, you can heat it up (removing some of the excess fluid) and thicken with a corn starch and the fluid from the jar slurry. I canned my blackberries in syrup so I wasn't limited to pie or dump cake!
I’ve forgotten about dump cakes! It’s so nice to put this together last minute. I’ve done it with apple pie filling and spice cake mix...really good Fall dessert. Thank you for your fun channel. The first thing I ever canned was your apple butter. I blame you for my canning addiction!! 😍!!!! . P.S. I love the Apron Strings channel too!♥️☮️
That was great Linda thank you! I would love to see rhubarb and strawberry dump cake. There’s nothing better than using your own food that you canned your self. I have to admit I’m not a fan of blackberries unless they are seedless, however; I do love the flavor.
