Guys, I’m well aware Em dropped a new album! Unfortunately I’m sick as hell and this is the only thing I have recorded to release today. Can’t even speak. All things being well I will drop a Godzilla reaction on Monday 🙏💯
That third verse makes me tear up every time I hear it. I was that kid that idolized my favorite rappers and knew all of their songs. They were the fucking shit, in my eyes. Definitely one if his best songs!
I remember hearing that part when I was a kid and it’s stuck with me my entire life lol especially when it leads to ‘cuz we consider these minutes golden’. That line is timeless to me because when you strip everything else surrounding music away, it’s all for a fleeting minute of connection. It shows a deep understanding of what music and art is, and what it’s highest aspiration can be, and we literally get to that in this song.
Same, and it hits right after even more. "Or for anyone who's ever been thru shit in they lives, so they sit and they cry at night. Wishing they'd die, till they throw on a rap record, and they sit and they vibe."
Em got me through 2 suicide attempts luckily I got the help needed after the second time and im in a completely better place now thats partly why this song means so much to me
I'm 64 and not really a hiphop fan, even though I liked Run DMC and "It's like that" and stuff in the 80ies. But Em is going to be revered in the future like Mozart is today. I like the way you analyze him, young man.
I believe Aerosmith said they let Em sample their song is because they knew he wouldn’t mess it up and joe perry (i think that was his name) did the guitar at the end

Honestly Knox you are the best and most intelligent break down artist I've ever heard...been an em fan since 95 and I cant get enough of hearing you break down the bars with the brains to be able to catch his feelings and thoughts and his intentions...please dont ever stop doing what makes you happy and your raps are sick as well...keep it up and step up to the next one :)
Really appreciate those words and the support. Even if I don’t always respond I read all of my comments, and messages like this make my day - no matter how corny that sounds. Thank you 🙌🙏 Stay safe
Why am I crying? Maybe I am relieved because even though the pain never goes away from certain things in life at least I know I am not alone and at least we have guys who can rap to us about our own struggles. IDK. I always cry when I feel truly understood.
The best part was tommy lee is a huge eminem fan that he gave him the rights to use the song because he felt like it was an honor to him that someone like eminem wanted to use a sample from dream on
Love it to see that a person likes Eminem for his talent. He said in the past, that everyone talks about what he said and what he shouldn't, but no one that he's talented.
I'm not an em fan (think it cuz in school he was like all u heard about and everyone tried to become his clone) but anyone who says he ain't Hella talented is lying to themselves cuz they haters. Em will always be 1 of the greats when comes to talent
This deserves more clicks. You're one of the few people whose reactions I watch because you really understand the music and everything behind it, due to you being a rapper too. Keep going!
Yes agree. One of best songs in his long great legacy. Love it. Keeps giving me goosebumps everytime I listen and specially when I watch and he says, this kids they worship us and the girl crying while witnessing his concert and legacy.... crazy so relatable. Portugal here again for the Goat Eminem always since day one. Thanks for your brilliant reactions specially of Em. This song makes me travwl back that time. Crazyyyyyyyyyyyy. Younger generations cannot immagine even if you show them a thousand times. Eminem is one of the things the world only gives us once in hundred years or more, or maybe only once ...... true. Facts.
one of my favorite thing to see on this channel is that you don't only give love to the lyrics or the song but to the production and the instruments. Keep it up man!!!
I'm so incredibly thankful for growing up during the years that Eminem made his rise and had all his albums. He has done so much for people, music and art. Thank you Knox for letting us share these timeless treasures with you and really break it down to the meaning and influence of them.
I am being transparent in that I am a Christian and as such do not listen to much Rap or Hip Hop because of the language. BUT Eminem spoke to me from day 1 of ever hearing him. I do not know what it is about him that just draws me in 100% of the time. I will never tire of his work. He has so much greatness in that brain of his!
You're gonna love NF then... every song is relatable and he doesn't curse in any of his songs.. its incredible how he can rap and be angry and not slip out any curse out. U can start with intro then mansion from his first album and go from there to his 4th album the search from last year. Lecrae is a christian rapper although its not as preachy now tho he has godly messages in them. I really like his song with john legend - drown
Ever since I heard that third verse, the whole “we’re the fucking shit in their eyes” it makes me feel so emotional, I’ve hit rock bottom and I can’t count how many times music saved me. One of my favourite songs of all time, from one of my favourite artists of all time.
Em is only a few months younger than me and I always felt this song played right into and homage to the 1st time someone joined up with Aerosmith to break music barriers...Run D.M.C's Walk This Way!!
I’m so glad someone finally gave credit to the one of the most beautiful lines ever “to anyone that’s ever been through shit in their lives so they sit and cry at night wishing they die ect….👌👏👏👏
Knox this was a great breakdown and reaction. I was one of those white teenagers listening to Eminem in those growing years, with a pill popping, alcoholic mother (who did her best for me, I love her), and my birth father left before I was born, it was just easy to get lost in music that spoke to you.
Knox hill keep up the amazing videos man your break down of the lyrics is one of its own no one out there is doing it anywhere near your level , I have stopped watching all other reaction videos and just watch yours because there that good , keep it up man
Thanks for this throwback!! Getting close to being 20 years ago!! 😱 I feel really old when I hear the older stuff lol. Wow... I'm still SUPER disappointed that I wasn't able to travel to see him perform live. Canada had him banned from performing here throughout his first few albums...(even though he was a top seller here too) and well us being teenagers, none of us had the means to be travelling to the US. 😥 The people in power back then took away the ability for many of us to ever get the opportunity to experience Em live.... I will forever hold a grudge. Not even kidding. 😔
Been with Em from the start as soon as I heard this I knew it would be one of my favourite Em songs ever not just Em but one of my best songs ever by anyone
when i was younger i had platinum blonde hair always worn a hat backwards and short hair so when i was in year 7 ny nickname was mini slimshady. ive been listening to emin3m for about 15 years since i was 4

But i'm not ashamed,it just reveal his genius word plays cause he's the #Goat. Thank you., please do "The way i am" if you have time., it will mean alot., always a fan✌❤
I love how that song is on Relapse, but it feels like it has alot of "emotional effort" if you know what I mean. He's clearly trying to put some kind of break-up in a funny way, but he did it so well.
Knox I've watched so many of your songs I have to go back to the beginning and I notice how much better you have gotten. No shade to the beginning of your reactions, I noticed that you said "words are a mf'r they can degrate or they can teach hate" missed it, it was they can be great. This is probably his best song overall. Like he was saying, to be able to take on a song as iconic as Dream On...literally an all time great in and of itself, takes fucking balls. And he made his own classic out of it. My personal favorite however is Till I Collapse. It really is hard to pick a favorite song, hes got so many bangers.
I ask but one question to anyone who doesn’t appreciate Em. Which other rapper ha seven able to make music that resonates with every colour, every race and every age of human kind? I was in India in my teens in under developed India in 2002. This song shook me then and now, I’m a different India, I still love this.
The chorus is Dream On by Ronnie James Dio, Legendary singer of Dio, Black Sabbath and Rainbow. Aerosmith cover the song so I think it is Dio who's singing not Steven Tyler...
