Beautiful boat. Gotta love those encapsulated keels and protected rudders. Your boat will do you well in the crossing but I do think you should replace those CQRs. I did my own testing of anchors setting and this is the order of setting ability: Bulwagga, Mantus, Rocna, Manson Supreme, Danforth, Fortress and nothing else is worth owning (sorry). Holding power: Fortress, Danforth, Mantus, Rocna, Bulwagga. With that said, the Bulwagga held in many blows were all the old style anchors dragged. It's the resetting ability that I am most concerned about after a wind shift. The Bulwagga is my favorite anchor but it's hard to get these days. I just don't understand why people still use those old anchors. I've seen so many boats that were destroyed because of an anchor dragging. As for the crossing, if you find yourself going slow and want to do something about it, stop the boat, dive down and spend 20 minutes cleaning the side of the hull. You will get these tube looking growth on the side of the boat, especially above the water line that is underwater most of the time on the trip.
Yay your back. I look forward to whats ahead. The boats looking amazing. (Well done you two). Q, are you still in NZ? If so, who knows, might be able to swap boat stories 👍. Keep up the good work 💪 SV Kiwi Lady Opua Bay of islands New Zealand 👍🏿
I thought maybe ya'll sank or something. Haven't seen a video in what a year or so. Ok at least ya'll are alive and well. Don't know where ya'll are going. Just incase ya'll sail ⛵️ by the Big Island, I will keep s look out in my lanai. Until next time, Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii! Aloha and cheers 🍻
