I think for me the reason why I find your channel so nice is that you are a couple of lads from Wales who don't pretend to be anything else, sailing the world and showing us the true highs and lows of the reality of it. I honestly hope you carry on going from strength to strength and look forward to watching that materialise :) Fair winds 🌏
If my brother and I took a 4000 mile sailing adventure together you can count on one thing....just one returning.....well maybe none depending on the amount of beer on board lol
An extremely interesting documentary. As someone who spent a lifetime at sea, a lot of what you said brought back memories. Sailing in the 1970's on long ocean crossing in the MN had quite a few similarities. Dreaming and talking of food being one and also that semi crazy feeling you get as you near your destination. In Merchant Navy terms this was called 'The Channels" the excitement of nearing the end of a trip (ie coming up the English Channel after a long absence) I was also so glad you mentioned the night sky, there is something simply amazing to see a clear night mid pacific whose beauty simply cannot be properly described. Well done to both of you and particualy the comment about making the decision to change your life, just what I did as a 17 year old back in the 70's, something I never regretted
Loved it! Warts and all. Extremely well edited with many highlights. Great sailing, beautiful weather, some strange meals, dolphins and whales, stars at night, poetry from Adam and soul searching from Luke. Just brilliant.
I couldn't believe it when I stumbled on your video. When I was 18 in 1977 I crewed out on a 40' boat, the Tregallis. The skipper was English, emigrated to New Zealand and he needed 2 crew to sail from Panama to New Zealand. The first thing I noticed is when you were tracing your route due South from Panama to the coast of Ecuador to pick up the trades and then turning due West. We followed the exact same route. We stopped at Nuku Hiva and Oa Pou. Then to Rarotonga and New Zealand. We even caught fish near the Galapagos like you did. You made my day. I scanned through your video for highlights because I'm in the middle of some chores, but I've got it saved so I can enjoy it later with a drink or two. Fair winds and following seas.
Glad it brings a smile to your face 😁. Sounds like you followed us on the exact same route, precious memories 😍. I hope you get to watch the whole film 📽️
When you first came on the scene as you sailed around Britain, and then you announced, you were going to sail around the world I was apprehensive for you both, you have proved me wrong and I needn't have worried, you are an inspiration.😲 (Bangin!)
Pacific Ocean THERAPY with your best mate in the whole world, I absolutely love normal people, people like you , people like me , like most of the people we all grew up and live with our whole lives. Only youre doing something most of us wont. Special experience lads. Thanks.
Hello from Florida 👋 This is the 1st video we've seen of you guys, and we are so glad we tuned in!!! We watched the entire video, entertained the entire time. Can't wait to see more. 😊
You guys are so cool, true legends of the sailing world! Thanks for all the great videos you make that let the rest of us see what life at sea can be like. You are lucky to be the kind of brothers who can share such a great adventure. Cheers, Rog
This video is like a Carlsberg lager... probably the best in the world. Fascinating passionate and thoroughly enjoyed minute of it! I am so glad you hugged when you got there... a hand shake isn't enough for the best sailing brothers. Best regards from Marseille, Christopher
Guys, I’ve been following you for quite awhile now but watching this particular video made me quite emotional for you both. You have both achieved so much and you should rightly be very proud.
Yes lads! Your big crossings are my absolute favourite videos of yours. Thank you for putting them all together. I hope you're both well, I'm really excited to see the next leg from Fiji! Delicious!
It was a while in the making but we finally managed to finish it and get it out on public RUclips 😁. Only a couple of days to wait until the next Fiji episode drops ✌️
That was brilliant lads. I had a brew and a cheese butty at the half way point to celebrate, shed a tear with Luke and was inspired by your closing comments. Keep up the good work. Cheers.
Wonderful video, loved the documentary style interludes. Still laugh at the fact that Adam can’t spell Equator on his hat and the fact the Luke couldn’t help but eating a bit of Neptune’s cheese whilst cutting it up down below!! Not sure how you kept sane but it’s amazing to think that a couple of lads from Wales ended up sailing half way round the world in a beautiful Rival 34 - she’s really looked after you! Keep safe lads and can’t wait for our journeys together to continue. For us on land it’s a little bit of escapism to be sailing out there with you both.
Cool video guys. I just retired from the army and saved money for 17 years knowing I am gonna live in a boat and the time is here finally. I looked at newer boats but ended up getting an alberg 30 that was in great shape and it left me plenty of money to set up how I wanted and travel. Leaving Seattle next year and heading across the pacific
I have only had a short preview of this but thank you so much for putting this together. The number of hours you must have put into this will have been enormous probably several weeks (I have relatives in the film industry and remember many years ago one making a lager tv commercial and they spent a day getting the condensation on the bottle to run down it the way the director wanted - the olden days!) so thank you so much. As others have said what makes your episodes / channel so special is your honesty - this is us as we are. Thank you.
WHAT AN ACHIEVEMENT !! YOU TWO FINE YOUNG MEN have proved yourselves firstly to yourselves and secondly to each other. As you both so eloquently put it The Voyage of Atlas has been a life changing endeavour. I would suggest 'character building' as well. I'm sure that the world will be hearing from you two men again as you find new adventures for yourselves but I believe your circumnavigation of this "pale blue dot" to quote that other great explorer, Carl Sagan has been the one to slip your moorings. These are the words ĥe chose to describe our planetary home Gaia, herself a voyager through Space to some unknowable rendezvous with destiny. Before I realised this was going to be your final episode I had compiled a list of suggestions for you to consider going forward but they can wait for now until you rejoin us all! Go well Luke and Adam!
Shine alight off to the side you'll be amazed at the eyes looking back as the squid rise at night to feed, amazing at the numbers. I did the same trip from Panama with a stop in Galapagos, the vast emptiness was strange !
I have only watched you on my phone until tonight. Watched on my 70 inch tele for the first time and reslised just how big your boat is and how well its maintained. Love the spelling on the hat of the equtor.
Just found your journey fella's! 🎉 Are y'all twins?😊😊 It's so wonderful to see 👀 y'all love & respect 🙏 your mother as you do! 🍻 cheers brothers!! 👍 🤭😇✌️❣️
I had to comment a little more after watching the full video. There were so many similarities between your trip and the one we made 1977. We also saw lots of logs and driftwood off the coast of Ecuador. We saw a giant tree floating crown up, trunk down. I can't imagine what that would have done to an aluminum hull. This was a shoestring operation. The skipper built the boat himself out of aluminum from material that may have been "liberated" from a factory where he worked in the UK. Once we got in the trades our rig stayed the same for days, similar to you. We rigged wing on wing with what I think we called a whisker pole on the genoa. We only caught fish once, 3 or 4 at once, either wahoo or king mackerel. It was too much to eat before it spoiled so we tied strips to the rail where it dried and got a natural salting. We flavored our beans and lentils with it, or just gnawed a piece now and then. I remember also how hard it was to walk on land. We felt seasick on land when we got to Nuku Hiva. We were also loaded with gooseneck barnacles. When you made that bread in the skillet it reminded me of the cornbread that we'd make. It didn't rise, it came out flat and crispy and we'd eat it with jam. The skipper navigated solely by sextant, which he had recently been taught by a friend. If we'd lost him the Canadian and me would have been done in. We blew out a gasket in the head a week in and had to hang it over the side the rest of the way. The engine was an old Lister diesel that you had to start with a crank. The gear box was broken, no neutral or reverse. If you were coming off a mooring in a current you had to untie, crank, and hope to have power before you collided with another boat. I'm looking forward to more of your videos. They're a lot of fun to watch. The sailing makes it great but you 2 guys are fun to watch also.
Thank you for sharing your wonderful story 🙏. Reading it brought the passage back 😄. We are lucky to have all the modern technology these days including a freezer which we have now very lucky
You two are just crazy !! I think you’d have to be a bit to do that stuff but your a complete blast to watch love it … Oh that bit when you did the Voice announcer and than spoonful from your plate man I was rolling 😂😂 so freakin funny man !!! OMG Good luck Fellas …
Oh wow this was nothing short of spectacular 👏👏👏. I watch you every week but seeing the Pacific crossing all in one video is so enjoyable. You guys are so unpretentious and charming ❤. This is one of those videos one will be able to watch again and again. Thanks so much for sharing your experience with us, if I was your Mom I’d be so proud 🥲🤗 Fair winds from 🇨🇦🥰
Hello again lads , gavin again, been a while but I’ve continued to watch and like almost every episode right from the start, but this documentary style has been amazing, what a journey, I’m so very proud of you both, and of course Atlas, I look forward to many more episodes and I might even become a patron, I don’t know if you’ll remember me, however in the RNLI, back here in Britain (Scotland) to be precise, we have a saying , with Courage, anything is possible, you Two brothers have exemplified this, you have courage beyond belief, what a fantastic demonstration of determination , Courage and Sacrifice, I hope you both continue to vlog your adventures as I will certainly be watching and waiting, congratulations to you both and once again thank you for sharing such an enthralling passage with us, Bravo boys, and Yaki Dah!!! 🏴🇬🇧🏴
Hello Gavin, we would like to thank you for watching from the very start of the adventure. Thank you for such positive feedback on the documentary. It has been a journey of a lifetime so far and we're only halfway around. Here's to the second half of the world 🌎. Cheers Gavin 😄
Wonderful job! Loved the documentary style. Took me 3 days (after dinner), but so worth it. I was watching you as you went, but hearing your comments now added for along the way was a nice touch! Wish I could like it more than once.
Just found your channel. What a great video. I recently bought a blue water sailboat. This is great inspiration for me. Can't wait to go back and watch some of your earlier videos.
Greetings from Chasing Latitudes - Looking forward to the episode. Love the raw footage with no pretense to be more than you are! Good on you! Godspeed - new subscriber.
OMG! You guys should open a restaurant when you get back! 😂 The mind boggles. Which one of you is le chef extraordinaire? A promising start lads! ! shall be watching this epic over the next few days just to background your later videos and for my pure enjoyment 😅 Thanks lads!
We all get scared at sea at various times, the only people who say they are never scared are Liars or extremely stupid , love your honesty & I do know the feeling, fair winds
What a journey, great sailing, awesome filming. Loved it from the first untill the last second. Made me really want to learn how to sail. Great achievement guys. Greetings from Belgium. Erik
I'm from Nova Scotia not too far from Bridgewater and I started following your channel when you were in the area. Amazing story and very well done. Congrats to you both for such an amazing achievement.
What a fabulous mid week surprise for all of us! Thank you for sharing your journey love your honesty, your wonderful meals. Love this channel and you guys oh and the Bermuda flag 🇧🇲❤ cus that’s where our little family lives and watches your amazing vids. Can’t wait till Sunday 😅
We watched your voyage to Bermuda a few months back when we discovered your fab channel to bad we didnt know of it when you did come otherwise we would have taken you boys out for a nice meal. Bermuda is a beauty just an expensive one lol. Keep the vids coming we get all excited when we get a notification of a new vid thats dropped 😅. My som and brother both have very similar sailboats to Atlas although not brave enough to do any ocean crossings like you two brave lads 🩵
I remember when you crossed the equator and you were going to wait until daylight to give your gifts to King Neptune. I was one of the folks that said NO WAY!!! You bless King Neptune when you cross! Not at your convenience! Glad you took our advice!
Thanks for the message Caroline really appreciate it ☺️. We are two crazy cheese loving Welsh sailors ⛵😁

I remember when you crossed the equator and you were going to wait until daylight to give your gifts to King Neptune. I was one of the folks that said NO WAY!!! You bless King Neptune when you cross! Not at your convenience! Glad you took our advice!
