In this video, I put the Beretta M9 and the Sig Sauer P320 through fairly light "torture test" to see how they do. Why? Because why not. Hope I didn't offend anyone too badly.
@user-st9hv2wo6c what really surprising me is that the Navy Seals had downgraded from a sig sauer to a Glock, don't get me wrong I like Berettas all except for the exposed slide, but honestly I shoot way better with the Sig sauer especially if it's a single action.
I’m not a real expert, but I’d say it’s an ammo problem, because I’ve seen those guns work in a lot worse conditions than what you put them through today.
Totally agree. I have both and ran them both very hard and never had issues especially just with a little dirt/dust kicked on them. I wonder how many rounds he put through the pistols since he had them. May need new guide rod springs possibly.
@@rklkify Ever experience failures like those on this video? The only time I've ever seen functioning that bad was when a pistol was running completely dry.
Ammo problem I think. Both guns experienced the same type of malfunction over and over (failure to extract/eject). Both should have performed better than this.
Definitely, the shitty ammo use is a major cause. When I tested loads for my beretta 4.3 grains was the lowest I can go. Every round was a stovepipe, 5.3gr hit like a truck and function very well.
When it comes to torture tests like these, I have noticed striker fire pistols work alot better than hammer fired pistols. I think striker fire just seals up more of the action. I have a Beretta 92fs and it doesn't really like ammo that is below 124gr even not in a torture situation, so I think the problems with both has much to do with too light of loads. Also, 124gr is military spec 9mm ammo as well.
You haven't put many rounds down range. Hammer/firing pin is ,and will continue to be superior. Striker is popular in stuff you can purchase for $400 and field strip by throwing in some hot coals. Send a couple hundred thousand rounds down range and then remove a loaded gun from a fuck who's pointing the gun at your face during a back road traffic stop and see if you still like striker fired. I compete and plink with them, but I NEVER rely on one. Striker fired supplies the bare minimum force to ignite. Firing pin/hammer is completely tunable too the point of piercing a primer, not recommended,it's hard on the eyes, without eyewear. Forgive me if I have confused you.👋🚬🥃
Don't get me wrong, I hate striker fire! Like I said I own a Beretta 92fs, CZ sp01 and p01, all of which are hammer. I was just merely saying I have noticed that striker seems to keep more crap out of the action. I hate cheap polymer guns period which are almost always striker.
Not really, or else the 1911 wouldn’t have kicked Glock’s ass in a prior torture test on this channel. The Beretta didn’t do well mostly because the action in general is much more open than other designs. Makes it very reliable when cycling ammo, but unreliable when in adverse conditions. Sealed is always what you want when covered in gunk. Some of it can also be caliber, too. The 1911 was also in .45ACP which has more recoil force when opening and stiffer springs when closing, both of which probably helped brute force past dirt a lot better.
beretta never to my knowledge had a recall or lawsuit over an accidental discharge where I live do not see a lot of dealers selling new 320s but the have a lot of used ones and used berettas are rare where I am
I honestly don't care what the outcome is, they ain't indestructible, dirt is a son of a bitch for guns. No gun is the best gun in the world. HOWEVER the use of shitty ammo in this video sucks. I use 115 grain rounds with cci primers and 5.3gr of hogdon pistol powder.
Ive tried so hard to like SIG's....I own 3 of them and its cool that you can pull the triggers out and make transformers out of your guns, BUT they suck !!!! I still dont like that squishy trigger. All SIG aftermarket triggers are squishy too. I have the badass custom shop trigger group too and it sucks. M&P's with an Overwatch precision trigger or an Apex trigger for the win
I could never fall in love with the Beretta M9 even though a) it has such a distinctive shape b) it is *the* *pistol* in Stargate. But that slide mounted safety is so annoying. You'd think you've gotten used to it and then bam 2:12 happens.
This is very educational. I can't understand why anybody would be against this video. I had no idea that guns only work correctly in a highly controlled environment. That's useful information.
I'd play with recoil spring lbs.regarding both. I've done similar activities in colder weather with several.45acp 1911's and a Glock 21,Glock 30S all ran well with 230 jhp Win. Ranger.
