Metroids and their life cicle are the most cooler iconic Nintendo enemies that ever existed, my favorite one is the Omega Metroid because they look like dinosaur aliens.
Fusion Omega is best Omega. I love those massive claws and those bone-chilling screeches. And I love how it just lumbers toward you, shaking the entire room with every step. Now THAT is true monster!
Hooray for Metroid Fusion, one of the best models for the Omega Metroid in my honest opinion. Then again, I am biased in that this game was my childhood
I think Fusion is easily the best depiction of the Omega Metroid so far. As imposing and intimidating as it looks in other games, it's in a class of it's own in Fusion. I also love how there are a couple small hints that imply that by the end of the game, there's an Omega Metroid roaming around Sector 1(SRX) and then you have to fight one at the very end.
@@alexbridden1594 I never knew what those broken bubbles were when I was little. It wasn't until I was a little older that I realized that was the method getting older. What a fantastic game :)
@@thx4chrckingin I know right? When I finally figured that out, it was an awesome feeling. Also, there were usually fewer X parasites left in the areas where the Metroid husks were.
Considering that Metroids have been shown to survive explosions unless they are frozen, it's reasonable to assume that the Metroids ejected out in Fusion didn't die from the explosion, and could have drifted in space until landing on a planet (probably SR388) or being picked up by a ship looking to scavenge the remains of the explosion.
Possibly, but if the developers decided to bring back the Metroid species through a plot thread like that, it would really cheapen certain story elements of the game, like the last Metroid sacrificing itself for Samus, or Samus becoming a Metroid through DNA injection. It would be like bringing Tony Stark back into the MCU after his sacrifice in Endgame.
It says the metroids life cycle on SR388 is the result of the planets atmosphere and ecosystem, which’s is what’s causing them to transform from Jellyfish to dinosaurs. However I theorize that what causes there evolution isn’t actually the planets atmosphere, but it’s actually them consuming the X-parasites. I mean think about, shown in the chozo archive's, The Metroids ate most of the X’s and then those Metroids mutated into reptilian forms. Not mention how in Metroid Fusion, there was an omega metroid and lot of X- parasites. It all makes since
The “natural” life cycle of the Metroids is actually an accident that the Chozo that created them didn’t anticipate. And a Queen was also grown in a space station that recreated SR388 environment. It’s a subject with a lot of contradicting lore and debate.
If the baby was still alive, it would had evolved to a Metroid queen by now and Samus would have a very powerful ally by her side. But she probably would not experience the events of Fusion, and Dread would not be happening.
@@boogaloobender3462 oh right, because every single one of the Metroid in Fusion is a clone of the baby. But then again, maybe it won't, baby did attack Samus near the end of Super Metroid, but then realized it was her "mama" and stopped. Then we have the whole protecting thing from Mother Brain. The Metroid clones probably will indeed attack Samus since they were born in a lab environment.
I like the idea that the metroids have some form of intelligence and aren't like jellyfish or worms. That means you could tame them, so why destroy them? tame them!
Want to know something ironic. THE METROIDS SECOND STAGE(found in most games) IS THEIR MOST POWERFUL EXCEPT QUEEN! For every game, you needed to freeze then missile. For all other stages, either a good missile in the mouth or shoot the exposed area. The second stage that is not alpha is not hurt by the ice beam, only weaken so it can be hurt be a missile. Yes the have less health than the other stages, but the most well known form is resistant to the one weakness. Queen is killed by bombing and missile through the mouth, but can she not get hurt by the beam? I think not!
I would have to disagree if we are talking power per metroid. An alpha metroid is stronger than a larva metroid because all you got to do with a larva is hit it with the ice beam to freeze it and then hit with missiles. You don't notice that because you never fight multiple alphas at once while you do fight multiple larva at once. Yes you can kill an alpha quick and easy too with a parry or two but at least you have to wait for the window.
The chozo never intended for them to metamorphose, aeon energy from the x parasites did that to them. The nearly invincible-but-weak-to-the-cold stage of their life cycle was supposed to be their adult form. They weren't supposed to be able to reproduce but life finds a way. This actually reminds me of axolotls. Axolotls are technically juveniles for their entire lives; *technically*, they can be forced into puberty by lab-induced hormones n stuff and transition into adults, but that doesn't occur in nature. Metroids are juveniles for what's supposed to be their whole lives (which is who knows how long) UNLESS they get exposed to enough aeon energy to start molting. (I'm unsure if they can all become queens or if males become omega metroids instead, do they even have sexes? I feel like they could reproduce asexually; some animals can do both.)
