Hey everyone, a few quick notes:
1: This is not my TeamSeas upload. That one is coming soon though!
2: Yes, I've already made a video covering snakes. That video, unfortunately, got copyright claimed and I had to remove a portion of it in order to keep the video up. I figured since that video was old anyway, I'd rather just remake it. So hopefully this one is way better, too! It's more than twice as long.

It’s said that the most OP snake was the highest ranking rattlesnake player, the legendary Rattlesnake Jake. He modified his damage and intimidation to the max by swapping out his rattle with a gatling gun. And instead opting for a hood like cobras, he switched out for a stylish cowboy hat, 10/10 aesthetics

Interestingly, venomous snake builds developed earlier in the meta than non-venomous builds! This means that many snake mains actually decided that trading out venom was overall a beneficial move. Wild, right? But I'm not going to call them wrong when Colubrid players are almost literally everywhere - clearly they're doing something right!

To be honest one of the limitations of these tier lists is that they seem primarily concerned with solo gameplay rather than the success of the group as a whole. The list seems inarguable with regards to Colubrids when it comes to that criteria, but considering how damned many of them there are it's obvious that when taking the success of the whole group into account these are far from low tier. Garter snakes (genus Thamnophis) are literally everywhere in north and central America. It's sort of hard to argue that this is an F-Tier build when it comes to overall success.

Garter snakes do have the social skill though, something that the majority of snake builds lack. This grants them a good safety in numbers and does wonders paired with their Live Birth trait. Garter snakes also have a unique cold resistance trait which allows them to thrive in some rather absurdly out of place servers such as Canada.

If you aren’t a competitive player and just want a fun, simple build with a lot of customization options, Ball Python with a human teammate is actually pretty great. The human’s intelligence stat often unlocks new skins and designs for their teammates, and it just so happens that the devs gave Ball Pythons a RIDICULOUS amount of customization options in terms of color and pattern. However, the ball python intelligence stat isn’t high enough to unlock new skins on its own (other than random loot boxes) so you do need a human player to help you out with it.

As much as I love the Indigo, I doubt it could be ranked as high as the Kingsnake build. Everyone I know that used to be an Indigo main switched over to something else due to their reliance on and the decrease of Gopher Tortoise mains.

Fun fact: it's well known that snakes have to shed their skin, but their lack of limbs makes it incredibly difficult for them to do so. As a result, they have a period of time leading into a molt where they're incredibly itchy and will roll around on rocks or fallen logs to scratch themselves. I've encountered cottonmouths doing this while walking on nature trails, and it's honestly very funny.
I really cannot overstate how much I don't recommend doing this and how bad of an idea it is, but they'll happily accept scratches from, say, a particularly long stick you found, and they'll lean into it because it feels nice. I, uh, wasn't a very smart kid when it came to wild animals.

Fun fact about the rattlensnake's "rattle" ability - their specialized rattle gear was added to the game AFTER the ability was. Quite a few other snakes use the ability without the specialized gear, moving leaves and stuff in the underbrush to act as a distraction - since the snake's weak point is in the same spot as its weapons, this acts as both a defensive move AND a feint for an offensive strike.

I dispute garter snakes placement for two reasons: one, their ongoing evolutionary war with newts has provided a benefit; at least some species are able to sequester the poison in their body, and in turn, become poisonous themselves.
Second, their distribution. They are found in some of the regions (like western washington state) where very few other snakes can survive. Their smaller size is responsible for that.
Also more an interesting note; they are one of the few snakes to live in a group, outside of brumation/breeding
Edit: to be more specific, garters can survive in *colder* locales due to their small size. In western Washington, its quite temperate/cool, and we have two types of snakes; a few species of garters, and rubber boas.

ESPECIALLY to human players- while some can use their Study ability and learn about the different types a vast majority will Dash out the instant they even THINK they see a snake, thusly saving even the weakest players of the build from Humans, probably the most OP of all builds. Though this is also a similarity with Arachnid builds, Snake builds are much more powerful at their best so I'd say this tips the scales in their favor.

This is just a skill they have yet to relinquish because it gives them dangersense in social situations now which is useful. Actually, this is a main feature of the game for various builds, even cats are extremely scared of really anything bigger than them or anything they have fought with on the past, this is actually an obvious double edge sword since it means that anything scared from them will have higher chance to escape and be aware of their location, getting the advantage on the battle.

It is absolutelly *GREAT* to have more TierZoo videos!!! But if I have one thing to complain, it is the actual tier list screen, I think it would be better if instead of bluring out the already existing placements, just add the pictures as they are being ranked. Older videos already did this and I think the change was kinda bad, even if it don't change that much of the video. The animation is amazing as always. *Love* your content and wanted to give some honest feedback.

True, as a fellow Aussie build, I was waiting to hear about the brown snake, red belly black snake, tiger snake and taipan. Four snakes every Australian has to deal with daily. They may not have have the highest tier list stats. But the taipan has the most potent venom and the Tiger snake is so aggressive and venomous for a suburban player. And I haven't even mentioned the Death Adder, its named after its occupation.

I live in Australia and am glad we don't have the Black Mamba or some of the Cobras.
Our Browns and Tiger snakes scare me, but you can survive their bite with a compression bandage unless you are bitten on the balls, head, neck or torso.
You are pretty unlucky to see a Taipan of any variety outside of a zoo in Australia unless you do something stupid like walking through a cane field in Queensland and Northern NSW.
To be honest, I haven't seen a venomous snake in Australia outside of a zoo for at least 20 years..... and want to keep it that way.

@@Brolylomaniac First Aid for snakebites in Australia entails applying a compression bandage.
How this works is compressing the skin allows the blood to still flow while restricting the movement of the lymphatic fluid and slowing the uptake of the venom.
In the 1980s while serving in the Australian Army, it was explained to me that venom molecules were larger than the blood molecules, so the compression bandage compressed the capillaries and kept the venom from moving while still letting the blood flow.
However, compression bandages don't always work because the snakebite has hit a major blood vessel. This happened to an old farmer near Warwick in Qld a few years ago. He was unlucky and got bitten in the right spot by the snake, then died within 20 to 45 minutes.
While I have heard of a soldier dying from hitting the ground on an exercise and being bitten on the neck by a Tiger snake, I haven't specifically heard of someone being bitten on the testicles when taking a crap in the bush. That doesn't mean it couldn't happen. ;-)

10:56 in the 1932 “bring em back alive” show they defanged the tiger and leopard to make the fight more ferocious. Two different pythons were used. The tiger killed the first python (the smaller one), then Frank Buck found the bigger individual which had killed a small crocodile earlier and put it to fight the Tiger the same day. Constrictors are no match for big cats, jaguars and leopards already prey on anacondas
