Hi Kuffy. I don't know how I found your first video about grain direction, but from the very first minutes I realized that there is someone producing valuable content for woodworkers. With this video you confirm this first impression. Thank you.
It's a pretty big distinction between the two. To do the same amount of work with a chisel that a plane iron does in 20 minutes, it might take me 4 weeks to complete with a chisel. My "dull" chisels are still pretty close to deadly sharp, my dull plane irons have visible wear bevels which take an age to remove with only a strop.
I've been on a mission to try to learn to sharpen over the past couple months, but a proper strop is still something I don't have - I've been using the end of my belt as it's the only piece of leather in the house. 😂 I've never heard of this technique either, sure sounds easy enough for me to live up to. I'll run outside and grab some kangaroo leather off the trees out the front, and will give it a crack. 👍
Great Video - just picked up my new chisels yesterday, so i guess i have a week or so to find myself a kangaroo ! Thanks for the tip !

No you can't! It's after curfew!!!! You won't find any on the trees, but you will have good luck looking alongside the major highways :D
Time to find an old dumped leather chair and cut some strips off it... literally! 😁
Yep! That'll do it 😂
