About time you guys had middle-eastern food on here!😋 It's my favorite food throughout all the countries.👍 Of course many Lebanese migrated to Mexico decades ago, and they have restaurants there too.
Yes! And like Donor Kebab from Turkey, And Gyro wrap from Greece! Honestly, I was waiting for someone to say "Al Pastor" and I wasn't disappointed at 3:25!
Ive been waiting for this! There's a huge Arab population in Mexico, about 1.1 million. Most are Lebanese. And many prominent Mexicans are of Lebanese descent such as Salma Hayek and Carlos slim, the richest man in Mexico.
This episode was definitely a surprise, I never expected they’d try Lebanese food next but as a Lebanese person I absolutely loved this video! I’m really glad the mamahs enjoyed our food :D
Your food is delicious im Scottish but i traveled in the middle east and i cook thimgs like this all the time. When my son was grpwimg up there was always hummus and babganoush in the fridge and if people saw Baklava, it wasnt easy to get in small town scotland in the 2000, they knew to get it for me. I now make my own.
I live in Downey, CA and there's a husband and wife run restaurant called Fatima's that serves Mexican and Lebanese food and they kind of blend it. Those women would love it! Kind of best of both worlds.
Mexican cuisine itself is the best of both worlds, as modern mexican cuisine (al pastor, etc.) wouldn't have been invented if it wasn't for Lebanese settlers in mexico.
Fun fact: The immigration of Lebanese to Mexico back in 1892, has influenced Mexican culture, in particular food, including introducing kibbeh and tabbouleh, and even creating recipes such as tacos árabes.
As a Lebanese i am proud to see this video as we have the best cuisine in the world. Many of Mexican dishes actually were either inspired by Lebanese dishes or were created by lebanese that immigrated to Mexico 🇲🇽 💓🇱🇧
I’m Lebanese and really enjoyed watching them try our food. Definitely need a plate of Lebanese cucumber pickles and pickled turnips with the fried kibbeh. Also, they tried the vegetarian grape leaves (warat inab) but the meat and rice ones are way better imo.
Lulu has the Lebanese spirit in her. The way she combined everything in one bite is exactly how we do it. Everything goes in one plate and we eat everything at the same time!
If you already haven't done so, you should totally have a video where the mamah's reflect on their first video and if they enjoyed it or not and their initial thoughts being part of the channel.
One of the best meals I've ever had in my life was homemade Lebonese food at my sister's boyfriend's house , in Paris, while I was on vacation. It was amazing!
sadly that ain't no spinach, it is something called ''sele2'' that can't even be pronounced in english, funny part is that we call it grave weed here since they are mostly found in areas near graves for some weird reason, some lemon salt can elevate the taste, but very unpopular here to most, just something people got used to since it is very cheap. it is weird how they went with the non celantro version of the batata harra....strange indeed. funny how one of the mothers mentioned El pastor, there is some lebanese roots in it as far as i heard through the grapevine. anw, most the food doesn't look very authentic , i mean it could fool a foreigner but really it seems more of a fusion thing since most the food doesn't look like it is supposed to, mainly the spinach thing, the sambousik and the baklava is the super wrong one. but hey, glad the moms loved our food, but i bet they will be more surprised if they had the food made fresh and from a real lebanese restaurant that is %100 authentic. anw, thanks guys for sharing our food with everyone else, much love from lebanon.
6:05 you could also take one of these long lettuces, and put the tabouleh on it with a fork, and eat it. It tastes way better. Oh and with fries too it’s delicious. Thanks for enjoying our food tho :D
As a Lebanese person I enjoyed this video alot i was so excited for them to try it thanks so much i was so happy when warek enab came up bc its my favourite food i am addicted to it and obsessed with it but home-made one is better its so good even when u boil it its rlly good u can search up how to make it thank you so much for trying my cultural food we love you mamah!!!🩴
They didn't because the sauce used to marinate the pork is Mexican since it uses chile peppers that aren't even used in Lebanon, the recipe itself is not found in Lebanon, nothing close to the al pastor marinate sauce recipe. Mexican simply decided to use the vertically griller that they were seeing Lebanese use for their meat. The recreation of al pastor is 100% Mexican created in Mexico City by a Mexican man who used the vertically griller that the Lebanese brought over.
Lulu, you made me look this up. The spices in kibbeh are likely a combination of: garam masala (allspice), black pepper, turmeric, cinnamon, paprika, coriander, cumin, and cayenne pepper. I just had some superb kibbeh this week, and I love it.
Fun fact ; Cedar tree is the heart of God in the Holy Bible, Holy Mother Mary is called Our Lady of Lebanon and we have 2600 Church and 1200 mosques. The saint with the most miracles (St Charbel) is from Lebanon! Lebanon also means Heart of God. Us Lebanese LOVE Mexico and South America ❤
I went to the middle east when i was 17 and had basically all these dishes for the first time but Babaganoush was my absolute favourite and the freshly, made to order hummus with freslyh baked flat bread sitting at a plastic table in Jerusalem.
Yooow LULU!! The one with the cool neck tattoos, if you ever travel to Lebanon you are most welcome and I'd love to show you around to experience a delicious and authentic Lebanese cuisine. I hope she sees this!!!

First of all thank you for introducing people to our Lebanese Food . Second of all these foods had twists of their own for example the spinache fatayer don't look like that if you google it you could see that it has a triangular shape , same thing goes for sambousik fatayer it has a different shape . Also we don't eat kibbeh with garlic sauce . Garlic sauce is for chicken . We use hummus or tahine sauce as a dip for meat like kibbeh .
I heard :.meat was dry *the cook did something wrong its a NO in the Lebanese cuisine I heard cloves in the grapes leave : thats a NO shouldnt add or not a lot. I heard honey in baklava : its a NO for lebanese its sugar syrup with rose water and oranges blossm flower water. * way tastier
I feel like the food wasn't cooked the way it could've been to be "Lebanese". Like the grape leaves should be falling apart, the fatayer prepped with a special dough!
My favorite part on these try food videos is when they say “it would tastes better if you add beans 🫘😂”. These moms are so cute, adorable and lovable 🤍.
I think tabouli like that is intended to be eaten/mixed with other things. I like to make tabouli by itself but I add chickpeas to it to make it more substantial by itself
Who loves Lebanese food as much as our mamahs? 😍
Me! Kafta and hummus are awesome ❤️❤️❤️❤️😋😋😋😋😋
i luv my country's food

If the Lebanese kebab is hard and/or dry, something has gone very wrong. It should be as tender as can be, juicy, unctuous.
