As an Egyptian, all the food is seriously poorly made. I'd love for them to try the same food again but fresh and made by actual Egyptian hands. I love that they liked most of the food and I seriously love and admire how much Lulu loved the food. I've always liked Mexico and it's culture and Mexican food is just amazing to me. Mexican and Egyptian languages even have similar words for example we call olives "Zatoon" for plural and "zatoona" for singular. All the love from Egypt and I wish you all the best! Egyptian falafel should be crispy on the outside and fluffy in the middle, if its dry, then you made it wrong. Macarona bashamel should be more creamy. The casing for mumbar needs to be crispy, you should hear the crisp when you bite into it, not leathery. If your koshari is unseasoned then its your fault, The garlic and tomato sauces need to be seasoned well and full of flavor. Cook the food right. Wrong bread for the Hawawshi. And finally, camel? Really ladies? lol

Yes! We always mix and match our food🇪🇬🇲🇽 it is difficult to find Mexican products here in Egypt but when I find tortillas we are eating tacos non stop 😂🌮 I feel really blessed to have these two amazing cultures as part of my and my children’s lives☺️ something I noticed is we eat many foods in the same ways, the dish will just have another name. For example we Mexicans eat huevo a la Mexicana which is just eggs with tomato, onion and jalapeño here in Egypt they eat shakshooka which is essentially the same thing. They also eat beans with eggs like us haha and we both eat A LOT of rice 😅

This is the first times I've seen a video introducing Egyptian foods with such variety in choices! Its usually just koshary or molokhia so that made me excited!❤
However it is a bit disappointing to see that some of the dishes seemed cold/dry like the falafel, hawawshi and macarona bechamel, they're not supposed to be like that but i do understand that filming takes time and that's maybe why....
Also that one lady saying she'd love the bamya with some chopped onions was actually onto something, thats how my mom makes bamya/okra! With some garlic as well! that's the beauty of our cuisine it's not a fixed recipe each person makes their own food a little different!

Thanks for trying Egyptian food! ❤️ in Egypt we don’t call it Falafel, we call it Taameyya :)
Also, you need to try Egyptian food from a mama 🤣 we don’t do bland food so I’m surprised at the “no taste” comments

Glad to see this episode but for Egyptians, we actually call it ta’miya and not falafel. Ta’miya is usually thinner than falafel and made with fava beans, not chickpeas. And for the koshary, there should be way more salsa (tomato sauce), we don’t eat the way it was presented. We also put da’a on it (vinegar sauce with garlic and seasoning cooked on the stove then cooled). Lastly, I would’ve liked if they had basboosa. Kunafa is still eaten but basboosa I would say is eaten more in Egypt.
Overall, I think you guys had a lot of dishes so props to you!
Been waiting for this episode for a while and glad to see it😁

The chicken shawarma is more of a Syrian/Lebanese dish that only got popularized in Egypt because many Syrians migrated to Egypt after the Syrian civil war

shawarma has been popular in egypt since before then, syrian immigrants did bring their shawarma and make it more common in egypt but there's a local type of shawarma which is different and older

This isn’t Egyptian falafel it is Arabic falafel which made from hummus but Egyptian falafel from beans and a lot of green vegetables with garlic and onions

I saw the falafel and hawawshi nd just KNEW something wasn't right!! Falafel should be very moist, and often times it's way tastier when it's oily. As for the hawawshi, nothing beats aish balady! Homemade dough is nice, but when the thin bread sticks to the meat, that's when you know you're up for a lot of flavor ^^

no, because im arab, not egyptian but i have tried all these foods, and i assure you, the falafel is NOT dry! if it is dry then its not cooked right, and the bechamel didnt have enough of the white sauce, idk what they call it but my mom when she cooks it, it is a LOT more saucier. and the mulukhiya is not pronounced as “mulu kiya” its mulu - khi - yaah. And you cant NOT eat it alone! you are crazy if u do, probably with rice it would taste better, and i know you guys dont really know the pronunciations but koshary is not pronounced as ko cha ry, its kuu shaa ry. And it looked so dry.. my mom’s koshary is mostly paired with rice, not the spaghetti only, chicken shawarma that I know is put in like a wrap, not ingredients one by one!.. this is NOT shawarma, more like a shawarma BOWL which i dont think exists, or its just because i never tried it. and the shawarma I know doesnt has rice in it?! more like shawarma chicken, some sauces, vegetables, and i dont know.. pickles? not that. and the kunafa was actually pronounced right, but a long a would make it sound more right, more like kunaa - fah. i only excluded the foods that i do NOT know, and im to lazy to do a whole research, im arab so egyptians might correct me in the replies lol, but these foods are popular in saudi soo.. yeah.

The falafel should not be dry (it should be crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside), and the macarona bechamel should be saucy and creamy and delicious. The shawarma should have been served as a wrap, that's how everyone eats it. I hope the food was served piping hot.

Loved the video and I’m so delighted seeing my culture being represented. However some of these dishes look very off from how we make them, I’d just seeing local Egyptian recipes and how we actually make them. For example the koshary is served with tomato sauce, vinegar sauce and chili sauce. Etc
