Anyone who likes Sanskrit molded with metal music should go check out this band called Rudra. They are the fathers of Vedic Metal and most of their lyrics are written in Sanskrit. The vocalist Kathir from Rudra has given the vocals for this song.
When I asked the lead guitarist of one of my favourite bands, which band he loves the most, he said "Rotting Christ". It was a surprise. But with each listening I understand him a bit better.
The song name is देवदेवं which is in Sanskrit language, pronounced as “Dēvadēvaṁ” and it means “God of Gods”. The whole song atmosphere and lyrics are in Sanskrit (sacred language of Hindu) dedicated to many Hindu gods, lords and goddess
Not a lot of people will notice this. I absolutely love how the guitars were never palm muted during the whole song. That's a modern metal thing to do but this is not a metal song. It's a prayer. All the chords were allowed to play fully to respect the religious element of this song.
I introduced myself to Rotting Christ back in 2007 and instantly became a fan. The first song I heard will always be my favourite, Serve in heaven. I am an Indian and had being following this band since back then, not just because of this song. Big fan Sakis back since Non Serviam.

@aviralkaul2203 they lived way before the first greekoindian contact with Alexander the great, although some greek philosophers in the late hellenistic Era actually were influenced by sintharta gautama and his philosophy
Indo Aryans. They try to blot it out, but you can’t. Shared Swastika ( no, not genocide ), shared the Vedas, caste system comes from this symbiosis. Indians are our ancient family.
Been listening this prayer all and all again. It's sacred. I am following Rotting Christ since 16 years. You never stop amaze me. Look at your music and what you achieve!

Vedic chants ,mantras, tantras, creation and a metal song about lord shiva. I am fasting today as its Tuesday. Just got to work and saw this. And Its blown my mind .
Mannn. Rotting Christ has been one of the most consistent metal band for the past 25 years. Not one of their release was bad. Followed their transition from early grindcore right until now. Never disappoint. Also nice to see Rudra's vocalist got a chance here. Underrated band. Hail RC!
Great song as expected from RC, Therion also made a song depicting Hindu Culture with "Eye Of Shiva". Metal bands should explore more this wondrous culture.
This music really shines something on me. I'm Pagan, and my understanding of paganism (European paganism) is through the scope of what I've learned and been taught. Reading the translation of the lyrics makes me understand A. How much I get AND don't get the Indian religion. B. How much culture and way of thinking goes into understanding the religion of your ancestors. I think this is what unites pagans in the world, A mutual understanding that WE understand our religion, and that others understand THEIR religion. This is what makes the Abrahamic religions so cheap and, just my opinion, dastardly. You don't NEED to understand Christianity, Islam, or Judaism, you just need to know that they have laws, and if you follow them, good things happen to you. This shits on the idea of the ancient ways, that there is a world, which you must know in order to achieve wisdom (the body) and satisfaction (the soul).
the one true God Yahweh needs to be understood in as much as He will not accept worship not offered in Spirit & Truth. He says the fool has said in his heart that there is no God. He is the Creator so a creature of His turning away because his own satisfaction is the ultimate good forfeits His soul.this isn't an idea, it's reality - scoff at your own peril.
@cannedscourge I am a buddhist and you explain this beautifully. Some religions which came later into the human race made mainly for the support of ruling parties or their preferences. they have a certain set of rules to follow and guarantee the end outcome , and forbids the freedom of reasoning the rules.
@@truthfeels9990 thw problem is that your concept of God is nothing more than that of a dictator threatening his subjects with dire consequences.
Ρε μαγκα ελληνας εισαι;
Respect για τα τραγουδια που ανεβαζεις.
Ναι φίλε μου!
Να 'σαι καλά!
When a prayer sounds like a summoning and a line says one who wears a garland of plucked eyes you know that Lord Shiva the destroyer is a rebel and a metal GOD
I played this in the background while watching Tumbbad. Experienced the whole thing on an entirely new level
Over the years I've listened to this often. Easily one of my favourite songs.
Love from Nepal ❤ addicted to this song

Nothing is more metal than Hinduism! Har Har Mahadeva🚩🕉
Hell yes \m/
😂😂😂
Mannn. Rotting Christ has been one of the most consistent metal band for the past 25 years. Not one of their release was bad. Followed their transition from early grindcore right until now. Never disappoint. Also nice to see Rudra's vocalist got a chance here. Underrated band.
Hail RC!
Underrated ? They are one of most famous band in Greece :))
Beautiful meditation music... Inside peace.
scary and soothing and almost satisfying. the ancient Sanskrit chanting is is very vocally stiff as well actually 🙏🏽
This is amazing!!!! Hello from México🇲🇽
Rc this is the 1st song i have heard by you guys and you guys have just nailed it....no words can describe this masterpiece.
Great song as expected from RC, Therion also made a song depicting Hindu Culture with "Eye Of Shiva". Metal bands should explore more this wondrous culture.
Many bands from black metal scene . put hindu culture to their lyrics.
This music really shines something on me.
I'm Pagan, and my understanding of paganism (European paganism) is through the scope of what I've learned and been taught. Reading the translation of the lyrics makes me understand
@@truthfeels9990 i dont scoff i defy not only that but yiu blasphemed right there by speaking his name
It resonates well with dictatorship, and hence a projection of an ego maniac putting words into the mouth of what he thinks is God.
Hinduism, on the other hand goes beyond mere humen weaknesses, and gives a concept that is more logically sound and reasonable.
What Hindu . what Greek. What Islam..... music binds us all and this type of an arrangement is an experience... from darkness to light....it is epic.... timeless and is the end and the beginning of time . From dinosaurs to humanoids to cyber bots AI...its all and everything
Hail 2 thy mighty Rotting Christ!!! yet another masterpiece!!! 🤘 Grtz J. 🐈⬛....🇧🇪
Hinduism is currently one of the most metal cultures out there other than the ancient pagans
lol
And the only pagan religion that has stood the test of times, CONVERT WE SHALL NOT (felt like gandalf when i typed that)
lol
alphamaydus more than Hinduism, it is Sanatan Spirituality 😃
its not! its just a one small thing taken into BM just like any other elements of any religion...dont forgett hindu culture it was given to them by WHITE ppl.. all knowleage their got is from whte european ppl...
wow!
This is some new experiment done by RC and i really loved it :)
hope these guys keep on using different ancient Greek therms
This sound is extremely awesome for my spirit!
Thank you for this beautiful art. Namaste from India
this song is absolutely insane! A greek black metal band singing about hindu mythology in Sanskrit! If that's not secularism through globalization I don't know what is.
Metal unites \m/
Oh my god!!! What's happened to Indian rock...its improved so so so so much...infact ...today I can say its equal to the best if not better...amazing!!! Don't have words!!! Absolutely miraculous....well done my friends!! U have won my heart here...
My apologies....I got so excited after listening to this song that I forgot this could be also sung by a band out of India. As I cross checked I figured out its a Greek band. You have won an Indian fan. You guys are superb.
