I think the answer to this discussion is very simple: Gacha Smack and Mr. Pokke clearly come from two different worlds in regard to this topic.
Gacha Smack has a relatable viewpoint. He thinks the comp is not worth the investment when I can 0/1-cycle MoC with other, less invested comps. From this perspective, the Sparkle/Bronya/Ruan Mei comp is indeed mid.
Mr. Pokke has a unrelatable/dolphin/whale viewpoint. He thinks the comp is really good. If a whale can afford to run this team, then my all means they can go for it, it's worth it. Especially if they like doing fast clears or seeing big numbers.
Neither of the two sides is wrong, they just see the matter from polar opposite perspectives.
Regardless, there is is no hatred or anything of the sort between Pokke and Smack, people taking this "drama" seriously should really calm down a little bit.

I think it's a definition of "mid"' argument. He's saying it's mid because barley anyone else can attain it.

The problem with non-relatable comp is that it is hard to tell if the comp is actually good or if high money investment (godly relics, eidolons, signature light cones) makes it good. At the end of the day, HSR is a gacha game. Everything will become super easy if you put enough money into the game.
What makes a good comp? I’ve seen a lot of 0 cycles with Hook and Arlan and that doesnt mean they are good right? They just had a huge amount of investment.
The 0 cycle is just a way to measure how strong the comp is, so if every comp is doing 0 cycles it will be hard do measure.
So imo the best team comp is the one that will be able to do more with less, that will show the true strenght lies in the synergy of the team than on the relics

the point is how good the comp is relatively to other options for that 1% of ppl who have the necessary stats. compared to mintpick comps sure it's goated but it's mid compared to other teams with equally high investment

False. At equal investment this team is still much better than any other team. Mr Pokke was trying to disapprove the opinion about the comp being mid or average. It’s not.
He’s presenting the team just like a math formula, taking the 3 best support and tuning them specifically for them to run 3 times a cycle, except for Ruan Mei ofc. The result of the formula is making any dps run 6 times a cycle, which is actually insane in a turn based game. Gacha Smack got the wrong formula and only was able to make Blade gain 4 turns a cycle, therefore giving him the impression it was mid. Not bad, just average.
Players with mintpicker relics have to sacrifice so damage stats just to get this speed which makes the extra gains in turn not resulting in a major dps increase. However, this is not true for ppl with actually balanced relics though. The 6 turns per cycle dps comp becomes way better than any previous whale setups. Saying it’s mid compared to other teams with equal investments at whale level relics is simply just incorrect.
@@heisenburger16 I tried it with non-mint relics, and it still couldn't zero cycle. Its completely incompatible with any dps that uses sp a lot, you constantly run out of sp (this was with e1s1 bronya). With blade I didn't run out of sp but still couldn't zero cycle with the 6 turn rotation (and better stats than his showcase). Using e0 dan heng and only sparkle ruan mei I could zero cycle with my eyes closed literally with 100% consistency, so yeah this comp is not nearly as universal as he claims, nor is it that op. It is a cool innovation though and going 6 turns is extremely fun just not practical or optimal

Smack is saying that Bronya + Sparkle is mid and overhyped for it's investment to performance ratio compared to other comps, Pokke answers that it isn't, shows what it can do with whale relics. Then Smack is saying that the absolute majority of people won't have that, so the point stays, while Chokke is trying to call that a showcase of what HE can accomplish, calling people without this level of investment "mint pickers", gets all nervous, swears and can't comprehend that Smack is calling this COMP mid within a COMP frame, where you take the average/RELATABLE performance of units, put them together and look, because that's how it works with common sense. Pokke is feeling attacked because he's assuming the worst nightmare of his, that Smack is attacking not the COMP, but Pokke's SHOWCASE, he's sacred CONTENT and even questions what is wrong in the statement that all you need to do is have better numbers, not seeing the irony of the point. Pokke take the L and calm down, your showcase and content is not you and you don't have to take that so next to your heart, next time try listening + understanding what people say instead of waiting until they stop talking so you can make your point and repeat what you already said.
Smack was the one who got insecure about his tc skills and got super angry. If Pokke is feeling attacked, it is probably because he is very clearly being attacked because Smack got butthurt first.

I think the big thing is that Pokke's kind of fighting a ghost here and was calling out gacha smack for on his video calling average investment blade comp mid. Then Pokke frames it as an attack against his future video pre-emptively when smack would've probably agreed with no issues that this comp can definitely 0 cycle with godlike relics.
So obviously, since Pokke gave him the kind invitation, these guys are just chillin and farming each other 😎
i got e2 seele on her first banner as a ftp and im still ftp. she might not be the best dps but it's very possible to have dupes for your units. if you pull bronya lc a couple of time plus if you saved to buy them you could possibly have a s5 bronya lc as a ftp 100%.
i think the people who look for the one who was right and the one who was wrong in these situations should change their perspectives in these cases. itll probably be a lot better if we all look at what both of them individually did wrong or right, learn from it and leave them both alone to solve their own beefs (that is if they actually have one).

So the way i see it, if you just so happen to have two sets of 174+ speed built, and an s5 DDD lightcone on your account, then this comp is competitive with meta comps (or better idk what the total damage numbers come out to, after all you take more turns but do less damage than with some other meta comps). And thats with a ruan mei, if you dont have ruan mei then you need 200+ speed iirc?
But the question is, is it worth it to invest in a 175 sparkle and 174 bronya if you don't have those sets farmed, if other competitive meta comps achieve similar results with less investment required?. I won't include having Ruan mei in the comparison of requirements because everyone's long term goal SHOULD be to get at least 1 copy of ruan mei. As for DDD, while its true that its a gacha cone, i think its gonna be a if you dont have it dont bother trying this comp till you do, cuz unlike the 174+ speed sets and even Ruan mei, you can't directly farm S5 DDD.
So Its the Jing liu vs Dan heng IL scenario. Dan only became objectively better when sparkle dropped and made achieving his requirements as easy as achieving Jing Liu's requirements.
Now that said, Let's not pretend like a 174+ speed sparkle and bronya appear out of nowhere, Sparkle's best build is to be as fast as possible, so the target of 175 speed isn't a goal that you'd have to derail your current Sparkle build for, its on the same path so I think aiming for 175 speed isn't as big of a deal. If you already have/plan to invest in a hyperspeed bronya (because it is one of her well known builds for skill point benefits), then the Sparkle explanation also applies here, 174 speed albeit hard to reach, isn't on a different path than what you're already heading down.
However, if you, like what i think is the majority of players, have 0 intention of ever making a hyperspeed bronya build, then switching to a 174 speed bronya is actively derailing you from the path you're already on, and i don't think its worth it EVEN if you already have a 175 speed sparkle. Its all about opportunity cost.
135 134 spd sparkle bronya still gets u 4 turn per cycle.
try it. and see how "incredibly MID" the comps are compared to other meta comps

E0S1 blade 99spd , E1S1 Sparkle 141 spd, E0S1 Bronya 139spd, E0S0 RM 145 spd.
I can still do 4 turn percycle. It's far from the speed threshold like Pokke showcase but it's still impressive. Not "Incredibly Mid" as someone claimed it to be.
@@Rendang_Shofun I have the exact team as pokke but with much better stats on both Bronya and Sparkle but I simply can't 0 cycles with that team because my Ruanmei is only E1S1 and Bronya is at E0S1. Mid as I should say because my blade can 0 cycle with other comp.

As someone who is a BP enjoyer that never refresh stamina, with 796/800 cavern clears, I was still able to get the 175/174 comp. I tried it, it did zero cycle 12-1 with JL with few attempts, but going forward I prob would still not use this comp simply because its not comfortable to use / takes some RNG. Much easier to just use a sustain and 1 cycle 12-1. Also very annoying swapping every spd relic from all my other supports to get the speed involved...Also even with JL I ran out of skill pts because my bronya is e0, not e1.
I honestly see both points but you guys are arguing about different things especially Gachasmack. I personally really enjoy this "unrelatable" content and honesty it being unrelatable makes it all the more entertaining.

u can use same comp with 161,160 sparkle bronya speed and still get great dmg per cycle bruh. ur dps can literally do 4turn per cycle with this. I never refresh my stamina and i have 3 support unit with 160 spd by now.
u chase crit subs, u get crit, u chase spd, u get spd. simple as that.
pokke just push the limit to max by using 175,174 to demonstrate its max potential (6turns).

The main disagreement from what I've seen is what to consider "MID". From where Pokke stands, it's about the absolute maximum potential of the comp. From Gachasmack's PoV it's about return per investment ratio. Both of them are right in their explanation, the comp performs relatively better if you can afford to run it, yet it's not worth considering for most players when there are other comps that can produce results that aren't too far behind with much less hassle.
This is just farming content, you can just collab and debate. With this format, the miscommunication will keep happened.

I've watched many showcases of this comp and it's definitely not mid, it's just blade is mid,because Argenti was hitting for 1 mil DMG on the 1st phase of moc12 and zero cycle.Seele was able to one cycle despite replacing Ruanmei for fuxuan.Bronya had 160 spd and sparkle had 161 spd

Just use E0S0 Raunmei and E0S1 Bronya and you'll know how mid that comp is lmao (yes i already tested it with 174/175 speed mid af)
Your Sparkle is E6S1, your opinion in optimal Sparkle build is ONLY valid for Whales. It's not the Average Sparkle there is a reason you don't have to focus so heavily on your Crit Damage% for her since her Eidolons make her Ult permanent

That's 154(-10 if using Ruan Mei) SPD for 6 actions in two waves assuming zero cycle clear first wave. Which means 144 spd Bronya and 145 spd Sparkle is the bare minium that enables you to reproduce @MrPokke's strategy.

i personally don't think content creation necessarily has to be catered to the majority of people, like pokke said. if people decide to spend their money, good for them. if they decide not to, also good for them. people's choices are their own, it shouldn't matter what others do if it's not affecting them. i'm not ashamed to spend money or say i spend money on HSR. if you can use the comp pokke made, then go ahead and use it. if you can't, then either build up to it if you really want to, or just don't. it's not a big deal when anyone can easily clear the game with any characters. i don't dislike smack in any way, in fact i watch his content all the time. but i have to take pokke's side here.
