Man, I just wanna say THANK YOU SO MUCH! After only two days I noticed that "tic" coming from the extruder and no filament coming out. Your tutorial just saved me.
You saved my day. In my case, this is the second time. The first time I was able to pull out the filament with little force using the retreating function. This time, the second time in two months, I had to do as shown in the video. Regarding how easily you were able to pull off the lid. It's not so easy when the filament gets jammed inside. For those who will have trouble with this. I recommend that you gently undermine the edges with the included spatula (to loosen the joint), force the lever to the unlocked position and move the filament in different directions (right, left, up, down), rotate it. You can additionally rotate the side wheel of the mechnaizm so as to position the filament in the middle so that it does not block. Just try to disassemble it with your fingers now. At some point, one side should spring back. Now just do the rest and pull the cover off completely.
just wanted to thank you for this and also add a comment that one of the gears on my motor had a teeth missing, which probably is the cause of the jamming so pay attention to that on yours
One and done. This video came up on my 1st search. Fixed my issue less than 10 minutes later. Only difference was my gear cover did not come off as easy as yours 😅. Almost lost a bearing like you warned about. 😮 Anyway, you are my hero.
Very useful - I think it's a bit of a design flaw that the release mechanism on the top doesnt expand the gears a bit further to release mangled PLA - but this worked to resolve the issue. After unscrewing from the motor, I was actually able to get away without opening up the unit fully by twisting the PLA in circles along it's axis and pulling from each side.
You saved my life man!!! after finished the test PLA roll, needed to set a new roll and that thing get stuck in my 2nd day with the printer. Was thinking if I messed up something or what? But again, your video saved my life. Thank you very much.
Thank you so much, my new K1C had this issue only after 3 weeks of use, and I was worried it was a permanent damage and that I had to bring it back to the store for refund/replacement.
Fantastic video! Concise yet informative - gave me enough context to know how to make the same fix myself with confidence. Thank you so much for posting this!
I don't think it's glued. Work it out slowly dont use shaprt tools. There are only two bolts. Try to gradually pul the upper lid. Try to create tiny gaps from each side in parallel it might work. Again do it slowly don't let it pup out hard you might lose the bearing.. This is pretty much everything about it
@@luisdateigeiro7273 use the Force Luk! I gently but consistently apply ut from different sides and angle. Also use several plastic cards to save progress. And after plenty of attmps, suffer, tears and pain - its just jump out, and nothing has been damaged. Thanks god, it happens only once for me.
If you are using Hyper PLA this WILL happen, the fans only turn on after the first layer, and this lets the extruder heat up and melt the filament that is inside off it...
@@_neto7 is there a way to prevent this? I just had to change mine out and figured it was due excessive vibrations since it was just on an old wash machine lol
This method works to clear the filament out of the extruder but it happens on the very next print. Even have to do this to change filaments. I believe this is an engineering problem with the design.
What causes this, it's happened serval times, is it a creality k1 thing? Prusa is going to end up being printer of choice because this keeps happening and it's annoying, I wanna say it has something to do with printing speed

Print with the top lid off. The extruder motor overheats and heat is transferred to the extruder. Causing the filament to soften and then jam.

Thank you for sharing. 2nd day and had a jam. Also the comment mentioning keeping the lid off as it overheats the extruder.
Thank you so much for creating this with such detail. If it were not for you $700 would’ve been down the drain. Thank you.
Thanks so much for making this video, I'm having the same issue with my new K1C it jammed after about six prints, using the supplied white filament.
Thanks mate, that was exactly what happened to my k1c purchased 3 days ago. You are a lifesaver.
Dude❤❤❤ as someone who just needed clear, concise information and video of the fix…thank you so much

You saved my business 😂😂 Thankyou
i sure do love having to disassemble my 400 dollar printer, one hell of a way to keep my heartrate in the triple digits
Is there any way to minimize that? I lost a lot of models because the extruder is getting this problem a lot
Bro thank you so much
It worked. Thanks
Glad to hear that. enjoy
Thanks , that is happen to me
How did you detach the bowden tube? You skipped that bit XD I can't get the white cap out, and I don't want to force it
Got it :)
@@razTAH-p6h How did you detached it?
This is ridiculous. Mine is new and has this happen after every print. Crazy
I hope this helps you mate. If you still struggle with it try to change the filament. It may work
