As a Bulgarian, those vlogs just warm my heart :) I live abroad and I miss home so so much... I am so so happy that you enjoyed our little, but beautiful country!
Once I trapped in the same elevator for a two hours with 3 friends. There were almost no oxygen + I have claustrophobia. It was scary af, I had panic attacks all the time but was really trying to stay calm... Maaan, elevators like this - s*ck.
Eliot Cole happened to me with 2 singers in Benin, Africa. We stayed there hours with the girls panicking and had to use a car equipment to open the door but it was super dangerous because if the door closed, it could seriously injure us while we were oing out... Now I take the stairs in these places
It's not that scary. I was born and raised in Ruse as well, and in every elevator, there is an emergency phone number. If you have your phone with you and you get stuck you can call them and they will come to take you out literally right away. You can also just call 112 and they will help you, too.
Thank you for showing us Bulgaria Louis and Raya! I had never thought to travel there before these vlogs, so you definitely have managed to capture the countries beauty.
BEACH RECOMMENDATIONS : -Kavatsi Beach -Duni Beach -Gradina Beach -Smokiniq Beach They are all really nice and quiet, they aren't crowded but they are absolutely amazing! The water is super clean , just like the beach itself. There are so many cute little restaurants and the 4 resorts are really close to some bigger resorts for example they are all really close to Sozopol (this city is amazing especially at night time)💗 I also recommend you visiting the mountains in Bulgaria because basically they are breathtaking and also you should definitely visit Belogradchik rocks and some of the main caves in the country (Ledenika ,Magurata)! I simply want to thank you guys for making so amazing vlogs from my country 💚🇧🇬I am truly great !❤️ Обичам ви !
+H3LLB0Y2403 No, they aren't Gradina beach is like 30/35 minutes away and the other are a little bit more. But for relaxing they are definitely better than the beaches in sunny beach!Because we all know that no one goes to sunny beach for the actual beach 😄
The talk about the headscarfs is just not accurate, I'm sorry Raya. It's an old slavic tradition to wear these headscarfs... you can see that in all the slavic Balkan regions as well as in Russia and other Slavic countries but only older women wear them :)
I'm from Macedonia which is west from Bulgaria and both countries are similar in a lot of ways. With the language, traditions, the food, the people, and seeing Louis in the middle of it all is so surreal to me.
Noodle In Bulgaria we say "Република Македония" I don't need to translate it, you stole our language anyways, why would i need a translator? Your 'Macedonian' is basically how a 5 year old Bulgarian kiddo would write in Bulgarian. Taking the Cyrillic alphabet, the Bulgarian language and the letter J from Latin will not make it a unique language. You are lost people. You do not know your place because of corruption.
Loving these Bulgaria vlogs ... I've decided that I'm probably going to ask for a leave from work just so I can go back to Europe and backpack around again and definitely going to go to Bulgaria this time
Welcome to Balkan! It's really interesting seeing how stuff that is normal to me or that Raya is familliar with Louis finds strange or fascinating! It's so cool knowing that you're here on Balkan, and closer than ever to where I live, when you're always in some far away amazing places. Whole of Balkan is pretty similar to Bulgaria, and since you like it I hope that you're coming back and exploring Balkan more. Love from Serbia. xxx
Another great video..what a beautiful experience for the two of you..meeting family in a far away country..romantic..so lovely!!! You both are very blessed.
Oh yeah Bulgaria has amazing nature and amazing history and its just amazing and you need to visit shkorpilovzi its really cool and there is a bar on the beach. Please visit again!
I always wondered how Raya could always have her hair down even when she was hiking or in really hot climates... I guess I know now because she doesn't film when her hair is up! Lol! You look gorgeous either way Raya!
Sarah Camille I live in England so we don't get much heat lol but I just don't like the way it looks up I never have my mum used to tie it back for me at school and as soon as I got there and she left I'd pull it straight down
I'm from Bulgaria, but I live in Atlanta, GA. It is so cool to see a vlog in Bulgaria in a tourist's point of view since not many people visit our country. Such an amazing vlog! I suggest you visit Vidin, where I was born.💗😍
Thank you, Raya, for bringing Louis to Bulgaria, it makes me so happy to know that our little beautiful country has finally made it on his list. Also, the moment when your baba gave you this big hug and your granddad said "всичко е точно" made me tear up a little bit, so precious. Hope you had a fantastic time in Bulgaria and please make a meet and greet in Varna next time :))
This vlog made me sad, because I realized that my kids probably won't even bother learning Bulgarian because they won't need to use it besides with us. Most people leave Bulgaria because of lack of security (financial, physical,ethical,etc.). The corruption is very high over there and unless you have good connections, you'll have problems. So the younger generations will go seek a better future abroad, and slowly, there will be nothing left of Bulgaria and it's culture and traditions.
It`s incredible to think that there are many people watching this that are envious of Louis and wanting to travel but not having any money to do it. It is this same envious watching that is allowing him to travel around the world...Its really incredible to think about. Our envy is his currency
Raya your grandparents home is beautiful! The traditional dress was amazing I could see how your grandmother was so so proud to see u in it! I love traditional dressing.
I recommend the beach in Lozenets. It's really private at some places and the water is crystal clear. You can also take a lot of cool shots there. ☺️ have a nice day
I have no idea how i found this video but literally melted my heart! Ruse is my hometown and you brought up smile and bit of a sadness in me. Thank you :)
Not trolling, I am being serious, but I truly think Louis is gay. Nothing wrong with that in the least, but I think his relationship to her is purely for friendship/non-sexual.
Slowburn gotcha. I sometimes find that people who want to put people in the same boxes they belong to, usually assume someone else belongs to the same box. I'm reminded of the military dad in "American Beauty" who assumes his son might be gay, accuses him of being gay, when all along Dad was gay and he was projecting his anger towards his son, who wasn't gay.
I’m currently in Bulgaria for 2 more days and it’s rainy and gloomy and I’m having a great time watching your Bulgaria videos! You are doing an awesome job!
Arkutino is one of the most beautiful beaches in the south coast. There are barely any people and has like one or two restaurants/ bars and it's in the forest and it's amaazing
These are such beautiful vlogs just showing Bulgaria off to its best you are doing your girl proud! Please tell Raya she doesn't need to feel bad with her hair up she looks beautiful always and please poke her to vlog regularly like twice a week or something? We miss her xx
Silistar!!! Probably one of the most beautiful and pure beaches on the Bulgarian part of the Black Sea. Another's good one is probably Nestinarka but is busier because of their hotels surrounding it. 💖💖💖💖
You can go to Arkutino, Primorsko or even southern! the best beaches are there and so is everything! I love how you show Bulgaria to the world! I am so tired of everybody asking me "where is Bulgaria, I've never heard of it...". It is really goo to have more people like you to show how beautiful Bulgaria is
In Russia, they've got those headscarves too and it was never under Turkish rule. It's just some Orthodox Christian tradition to cover your hair when entering a church.
To answer Raya's question, Sinemorets is pretty good, where river Veleka meets the Black Sea. Also, there's Silistar which is nearby and is so so beautiful. Then you have Varvara near Burgas and Bolata beach and Rusalka which are really close to Kavarna. Hope that helped :)
+Valbuenium I think cause its taken with a proffesional camera. I am from Macedonia Bulgarians are our neighbours so in older photos it used to be like that.
Russians (and all Slavic countries) do the headscarf thing on older women, however its not to do with Islamic influence. It stems from Orthodox Christianity also
Since I watched a series called "Vanga" I really want to visit Bulgaria. I am from Serbia, so the music, traditions etc. are very similar, even the language! :)
BEACHES TO GO TO IN BULGARIA: definitely check out Irakli beach in Bulgaria! Also if you go to the northern coasts in bulgaria, check out these places: Shabla, Tyulenovo, Durankulak. Your father, brothers, uncles, husbands and fathers in law are allowed to see your head uncovered. Green Uranium Majority of Bulgaria was Turkish in the past. The Bulgarian Christians took that culture from Turks. Afterwards, Bulgarians killed and deported all muslims but they still have our Turkish culture.

It's funny, the dance is almost identical to traditional Lebanese dabke. We do it at every wedding, except the music is different of course with different beat
Raya, Josh and I would love to do a trip with you all to Bulgaria. It would be awesome to travel with like minded people. We'll be in the Balkans starting Sep 23rd to December:) Lest do it!!
Lol covering your head is also a thing in ortodox christianity it is not a muslim thing. The spanısh and Italian do it either. It was never mandatory during the empire. It is a thing of ortodox christians.
As a Bulgarian, those vlogs just warm my heart :) I live abroad and I miss home so so much...
I am so so happy that you enjoyed our little, but beautiful country!
That place by the river is amazing
That elevator was scary

My hometown!!!!!!!
Raya looks so happy for showing Louis her homeland and seeing his reaction.
Just like me :3
This is the most relaxed I've seen Louis and Raya as a couple. Glad they're having this adventure together.
Raya hugging her grandma made me teary and made me really miss both of mine. (One in Bosnia & one in Serbia). Love your vlogs Louis.
Thank you for showing us Bulgaria Louis and Raya! I had never thought to travel there before these vlogs, so you definitely have managed to capture the countries beauty.

*grateful
Thanks for the tips! I will definitely check these spots out next week, if they are not too far away from where ill stay (sunnybeach) :)
+H3LLB0Y2403 No, they aren't Gradina beach is like 30/35 minutes away and the other are a little bit more. But for relaxing they are definitely better than the beaches in sunny beach!Because we all know that no one goes to sunny beach for the actual beach 😄
+Lily Shoppova yeah, i know :D but we got a rental car, so we are not stuck to one place and can explore the east coast a bit.
и аз така мисля ;д
Bulgaria is on my list!! as soon as I'm finished with Asia! Great vlog as always Louis!
Enjoy your travels Sir!
Thank you!!!
"Finished with Asia"? That might take a while.
Well, good luck to finish Asia lol
But always enjoy the trip ;)
The talk about the headscarfs is just not accurate, I'm sorry Raya. It's an old slavic tradition to wear these headscarfs... you can see that in all the slavic Balkan regions as well as in Russia and other Slavic countries but only older women wear them :)
My favorite is when the love song is playing and he pans down to the cat sitting at his feet. 😂
Always manages to do something unique with the intro. This one was my favorite so far!
bulgarians know how to rock a party!
how does Louis only average 50k a video. i swear these videos deserve millions
ONLY?
I was thinking the same thing
I never realised before what a beautiful country Bulgaria is - I must put it on my bucket list. Also, I really liked Raya's dress - very pretty.
ONE LOVE TO BULGARIAN FROM ISRAEL
: )
KOBI 007 thanks :D
Raya looks beautiful with the hair up! :) Also: I miss her videos so much!
I'm from Macedonia which is west from Bulgaria and both countries are similar in a lot of ways. With the language, traditions, the food, the people, and seeing Louis in the middle of it all is so surreal to me.
KrowNN The name is Republic of Macedonia, but call it what you like really, I don't get triggered by Brainwashed Bulgaria1.
Noodle the name is Former Yugoslav Republic Of Macedonia
KrowNN Република Македонија is the real name. Translate it however you like.
Noodle In Bulgaria we say "Република Македония" I don't need to translate it, you stole our language anyways, why would i need a translator? searching for the elephant in the room...
Loving these Bulgaria vlogs ... I've decided that I'm probably going to ask for a leave from work just so I can go back to Europe and backpack around again and definitely going to go to Bulgaria this time
Raya with her hair up looks stunning but tbf Raya is naturally stunning anyway!!
Thank you so much for the Bulgaria vlogs oh my😭😭😭❤️❤️ I miss it so much

That little kiss while you were getting dressed.. you two are ADORBS!!!
sinemorets is a beautiful and wild beach and the water there is crystal clear. i am sure you will absolutely love it!
Another great video..what a beautiful experience for the two of you..meeting family in a far away country..romantic..so
lovely!!! You both are very blessed.
That dress looks great on Raya. Also what is this nonsense about not wanting to be filmed with your hair up? Still look great ;-)
I was wondering the same.
she looks so great with her hair up!!
Aw thank you!
Yep, honestly. It looks really nice.
@RayaHasHere you looks amazing with your hair up , please where them like that
Rays is so beautiful. She really emanates a healthy happy glow. And her hair is amazing!
Oh yeah Bulgaria has amazing nature and amazing history and its just amazing and you need to visit shkorpilovzi its really cool and there is a bar on the beach. Please visit again!
You guys gotta go to the camping beaches - Gradina, Smokinya, Arapya... They are near Sozopol :)
I always wondered how Raya could always have her hair down even when she was hiking or in really hot climates... I guess I know now because she doesn't film when her hair is up! Lol! You look gorgeous either way Raya!
I hate having my hair pulled back too I always have it down if I'm out somewhere even if it's really hot I only wear it up in the house
Beccaxoxo so interesting! Having my hair down bothers me so much in the heat!
Sarah Camille I live in England so we don't get much heat lol but I just don't like the way it looks up I never have my mum used to tie it back for me at school and as soon as I got there and she left I'd pull it straight down

These family videos touch my heart. Love Love Love

I immigrated to Canada 1990, I am teaching my kids Bulgarian. They are learning it and I am very proud to be from such a beautiful ancient country
It`s incredible to think that there are many people watching this that are envious of

hey guys,I am new subscriber,i am originally from BG but living in the US now, love the videos ,vlogs and all the adventures, best wishes
Bulgaria seems so pretty!
It is❤
raya looks great with her hair up! why didnt she want to be seen!?
Raya your grandparents home is beautiful! The traditional dress was amazing I could see how your grandmother was so so proud to see u in it! I love traditional dressing.

I keep hoping for an engagement announcement. Not sure why. Anyone else?
Not trolling, I am being serious, but I truly think Louis is gay. Nothing wrong with that in the least, but I think his relationship to her is purely for friendship/non-sexual.
Not everybody in love has to get married ;)
Do you base your opinion off of your gaydar?
+Slowburn Heard if asexual more like that.

that wedding is so beautiful and chill definitely an idea for the future
show us the first dance.. then a cat.
Anything can be made better if there's a cat involved. Mew mew.
Bulgaria is so beautiful. Definitely on my travel list if I have time to travel.
Хахах, побъркахме чужденците :D Great vlog!
Wow! Incredible vlogs, I am privileged to view them
Hi, Louis, where is Rachel? i havnt seen her in ur video for a while
Raya's hair looked very pretty up! The wedding seemed fun. Safe travels!
"Is Turkey on the Black Sea?" Eyeroll.
These are such beautiful vlogs just showing Bulgaria off to its best you are doing your girl proud! Please tell Raya she doesn't need to feel bad with her hair up she looks beautiful always and please poke her to vlog regularly like twice a week or something? We miss her xx
I think they are "these guests" that only eat their food on the wedding and don't drink or dance at all :D
how do you know that? they know the bride and groom...
Ivo kvo prai6 tuka we tva sa populqrnite komentari :@@@
Gone thing I love about louis vlogs is taking you to places you know next to nothing about. It's awsome
Man this place is like heaven on earth. : )
i'm from Bulgaria and i enjoyed watching this video so much. You've captured some real pretty places
Oh hey I'm from Romania ! Suuppp
You should have crashed the wedding party from across the river.
Haha I don't live there, just born there :)
Bgg
Ce faci neighbour :D
hilltopdub tell me the secret beaches
This is so amazing that someone has actually visited Bulgaria 🇧🇬 I'm from Bulgaria myself😄
I think the thing with all caps titles is it works when you do it sparingly, but when it's literally every title... It loses its effect.
Im so glad u enjoy being here
Bulgaria looks good, not sure why many from there wants to move to a miserable place like the UK? LOL
Money :D
It looks pretty but it really isn't that good
a pretty country means nothing, the economy among others things prove fatal.
we don't. Besides...brexit.
Benefits & council houses, we are a soft touch lol
Silistar!!! Probably one of the most beautiful and pure beaches on the Bulgarian part of the Black Sea. Another's good one is probably Nestinarka but is busier because of their hotels surrounding it. 💖💖💖💖
For more secret beaches I would say Burgas and below or above Varna
+
I would recommend also Sozopol, Sinemorets, Silistar, Arapya and Tsarevo in the south Black Sea coast in Bulgaria.
omg Raya your hair looks so cute up!!
Ayy shoutout Turkey GANG GANG GANG
You can go to Arkutino, Primorsko or even southern! the best beaches are there and so is everything! I love how you show Bulgaria to the world! "can't film me cause I have my hair like this" can't tell if she's serious or not..
Music at the beginning and editing on point. As always. Loved this vlog!
14:47 Is that a graduation photo of Raya in the background?? ;-))
yes, why say proof on it?
Maybe it was a test print or so?
proof that she graduated. lol jk
+Valbuenium I think cause its taken with a proffesional camera. I am from Macedonia Bulgarians are our neighbours so in older photos it used to be like that.
Awwwwww the grandparents standing by the gate watching them drive off is so cute. Wonder what they think?🤔
Why can't he film Raya with her hair up?
She might not like the way she lookd with her hair up. I also dnt like ppp seeing me with my hair up, so i relate. but i think she looks fine
Omg I can't believe u were in Bulgaria. I'm born in here, love u so much❤️❤️❤️❤️
Pogoooooooooo
BEACHES TO GO TO IN BULGARIA: definitely check out Irakli beach in Bulgaria! Also if you go to the northern coasts in bulgaria, check out these places: Shabla, Tyulenovo, Durankulak. Bulgaria is so similar to the Greek countryside.
the cultures are indeed similar
The view at the wedding is amazing!
I am from Pittsburgh and a lot of the older ladies from Eastern Europe wore head coverings called Babushka.. Is it the same thing I wonder? Maybe ... Interesting!
Babushka means grandmother and only some older women wear those. It's a cultural thing and you can see that in th villages and very rarely in the city
That wedding looked like a blast. Bulgaria is beautiful!
Is anyone else wondering how the bus is coming along?
'Josh s happiness' is vlogging the bus. Its coming along brilliantly.
She looked even more so beautiful with her hair up, Stunning
You are way off with the head covering. It pre dates the Ottoman Empire and Islam as a whole. It's common in all Orthodox Christian countries and become common place during the Byzantine Empire.
Даниел Прентов Thank you ! A man who knows his history !
What a beautiful welcoming from your grandparents, lovely!
I'm not really sure about the turks/ottomans mandating women to cover their heads at that time. But for the record Muslim women cover their heads when they are around strangers. Your father, brothers, uncles, husbands and fathers in law are allowed to see your head uncovered. So I think it's more of a tradition what happened to Raya's grandma rather than a religious thing, and I understand it being awkward because it's something she wasn't used to.
isn't some eastern orthodox Christian cultures still cover their heads and have in the past? I don't think it is just a turk or muslim tradition.
+SamKQboro yeah I agree with you it's not a Muslim tradition only
Raya seriously you look SO GOOD with your hair up!
Learn Bulgarian, your wife will appreciate it!!
the fact that strangers in the night is my wedding song of choice and so is theirs!!!! i love it haha
scarves weren't manditory. it was part of the culture.
Green Uranium
Majority of Bulgaria was Turkish in the past. The Bulgarian Christians took that culture from Turks. Afterwards, Bulgarians killed and deported all muslims but they still have our Turkish culture.
+erdal0 that is so untrue, mate. Get your facts straight!
What are you talking about? Bulgaria is one of the oldest countries in Europe, way older than Turkey. Bulgaria was under barbaric Turkish slavery for 500 years, but they retained their Bulgarian culture. Bulgarian culture is much older and richer than Turkish.
quickstrike93
like what? only bulgarian culture i know is prostitution.
quickstrike93
Only thing I ever know about Bulgaria is prostitution. Ask anybody and they will say the same thing
For the next summer you should definitely visit Primorsko on the black sea! It's not so crowded like Sunny beach and it's pretty amazing!
Biliana Baneva to4no taka!
Bulge-area is what I call my pants.
Oh, we have a wise guy comedian today eh? Actually not a bad joke dude.
HAHAHAJHAAHHAHA
+Third Just make sure your pantsport is up to date and valid.
Then sure it's some small area down there
The wedding looks like such a great vibe! Must say the highlight was that motorized tricycle 😃 We need one in our lives!
Omg everything is exactly the same like Northern Greece....even the dance
It's funny, the dance is almost identical to traditional Lebanese dabke. We do it at every wedding, except the music is different of course with different beat
I agree.. Greek and Albanian is really similar!
OhMyGoodness77 uh no albanian dancing is extremely different than the one in the video😂😂
