Wow! Thanks so much for all the kind words! I looked at thinner material (which didn't warp either) but it felt a bit flimsy. I decide to not make that compromise. I'm glad you noticed that detail. These days everyone is comparing weight specs and overlooking durability. I build what I would want rather than what will look best from a specs perspective. I really appreciate the YT shoutout!
When I bought mine I was sad to see I had to make more purchases to use this to its fullest. Also having to consider the diameter of sticks to fit through bottom slot was something I didn’t think of before my purchase. It’s hard to justify a possible purchase for the freestyle when the smaller one was a bust. The original firebox stove might be the way to go but I’m going to have to check everything before I get one.
Firebox Nano is my favorite small stove. Burns great, is very versatile and super easy to setup and take down. The alcohol burner is meant to go on the nano sticks though, that gives you the perfect 1" head space. Nice scouting, best of luck hunting this year. Thanks for sharing.
I watched this video for the first time about two weeks ago, just wanted to come back and comment. I ended buying this stove in Titanium Based on your review. I ended up with all of the accessories including both the nylon and leather pouches. This is just an amazing little setup. I got the evernew Ti alcohol stove to work with it as well. Thanks for the video. I think you did a great job showing the stove.
Great video.... just ordered one. Sold me on it. It’s a great product and almost sells itself. The fact that your in the woods using it makes it better🙂
I just recently purchased the Firebox and I have not a single complaint to make. Steve is the man. Im headed towards the Firebox Nano for more lightweight applications and the Trangia alcohol burner is perfect for it as well. if you want to cook something in a pinch with out gathering firewood. I don't think that I will buy or own any other stoves other than Firebox from now on!thanks for sharing Ben!
Love mine, both 1st and 2nd gen. On the 2nd gen the firesticks allow you to place a Trangia in the proper position and allow you to use a Trangia Uranus burner as well.
Thank you, mate. Stumbled on this while researching something else, but an idea that huge bonfires are not necessary to boil some water for tea or coffee, especially in the summer time, was nagging at me for a while now. Just bought the stove, they were selling gen 2 though, I hope it's same quality and value as was the one in your video. This is exactly what I need, lightweight to the point I can throw it in my EDC bag and not think twice, but so versatile.
Ah, THAT'S the stove! Nice! Been looking for a descent woodburning lightweight stove for my bugout bag. Was considering Vargo now this one has my attention!
Great video. I love firebox stoves. I have the the regular firebox and the nano both in stainless. I recently bought my son the nano. What great products. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!!!
The Firebox Nano and the orig. Solo Stove are top of their class in my opinion. Nano doesn't gassify but makes up for it in heat production just through brute force of fuel; was a very surprising little invention. Got the 1st gen in stainless and just pop it in the back pocket in a bandana and I'm set. Carbon felt "catches" any possible embers better than aluminum, but its a little on the heavy ('n bulky!) side for my system. Good vids bro you got taste. Obviously way too dam much money, but good taste to match.
What an excellent review. I have the Emberlit and I really like it but I have to agree with you on the versatility you demonstrated with the Firebox Nano. I'm sold I'll be picking one up. I can see why it made Ben's Best. Love the carbon felt idea also. Outstanding Ben!
Thank you I have been looking a stove's and you give me a lot to think about. The big hold back with wood burning stove's is the smoke I plan to backpack the appellation trail. I'm planing on retiring soon and would like to do this trip with the best equipment. To test the equipment I plan to take some weekend trips. Your video's has been helpful with gear selection.
The two ports are neat, but they're also very small. I like feeding the Fireant with thick branches (kinda golf-ball diameter), as those require the least amount of baby sitting. Also, the Fireant is almost twice the height of the Nano, which allows for more reasonable twig size to be used (which is already quite small, frankly).
I have the stainless version of the nano, and the regular firebox. I love them both, and I agree, they each have their benefits. I just ordered the titanium version of the nano, and the fireant... Now I just need Steve to put the titanium 5" firebox into production, and I can have it all :)
This is an excellent review! The Stove serves AN IMPORTANT nitch and function. Great job & Thank You so much!! I have other stoves of course and now this one is a must have for myself.
I have both stoves and the Fireant is my ultralight. I bought the nano because if you use the nano sticks with a Trangia you can use the simmer ring. Firebox does have some awesome cooking videos. I'm getting ready to by the larger Firebox for baking when I car camp. I already have a Zebra pot with the plastic clips, maybe Steve will make me a deal on a baking package with some of his cool metal clips.
please please please make an amazon list of all your recommended items. plus then you get a nice kickback when people buy. I love all the items you recommend.
Cool! I definitely feel the ease of use of the firebox is a big plus. Thanks for the vid! Also, good luck on your hunt! Maybe we'll get some hunting vids?
Broke down and finally got one. Think I will use the BushBox pouch upgrade to carry it. Have the Vargo Hexagon and the Evernew DX, so might as well get the Firebox also. Never liked my BushBox, too fussy. At least I got a good pouch out of it.
I know that and I'm glad you do as well. Which makes me wonder why you claimed you went with the nano due to weight but then went with the leather. Doesn't make any sense to me but yo each their own. Have fun out there.
Hmm...crossbars for a FireAnt? Where did you source those puppies? Great stove. I would also like a Firebox nano as You have deemed it top notch! Great review!
Hi Thanks for an in depth review I have both the Ant and the Nano I find the Ant far better in its draft capabilities in sustaining a hot fire It is easier to pack the stove with fuel, ignite and get a hot fire fast I find the Nano far harder to start and maintain a fire that will cook well The Ant has more of a chimney effect than the box like construction of the Nano Also the Ant holds my Trangia at a much better distance for maximizing the efficiency of the Trangia So the Emberlit Ant wins for me
i thought this was going to be heating stove. what is your recomendation on getting some kind of stove piped stove for a shelter so you don't catch the roof on fire?
Its better just to bring the matches or a lighter as the case maybe, coz in the woods you can fashion a makes shift stove using stones to support the pots or pans, that easy.
My folding Firebox is my favourite stove, been thinking of the Nano but not sure about the strength of the four legs. Dealer in UK do not offer warranty unlike you guys in US, if it breaks, it breaks.
Very sturdy stove. I ordered everything except the fuel plate. I added the 5" flex grill plate that's just big enough for a steak or chicken breast. Great review Ben. Everyone subscribe !
Firebox stoves are very well thought out. Still pissed about my bush box, absolutely could not get it back apart it just warped to badly. The best thing is they said I could ship it back an have it replaced, so I filled off the interlocking arms to be able to get it apart for shipping an when I sent the email to confirm they welched on the exchange, saying they can't do returns on modified stoves!! Worst service I've had on any outdoor gear ever.
Wow! Thanks so much for all the kind words!

great stove, truly a work of art.
Made USA... Thank you.
I, and I suspect millions of Americans will not be buying unless "MADE in USA" is on display!

thank you Nick, enjoy.
This is definitely a favorite of mine for versatility and great functionality.
agreed.
Great video.... just ordered one. Sold me on it. It’s a great product and almost sells itself. The fact that your in the woods using it makes it better🙂
Enjoyed the side-by-side comparison review and how you explained and demonstrated the different features of the Firebox.
thanks Fred.

agreed. thanks.
Thanks Ben. Saw an older gent with one of the Nano and he swore that it was the best thing this side of Jupiter.
smart older gent ;)
Love mine, both 1st and 2nd gen. On the 2nd gen the firesticks allow you to place a Trangia in the proper position and allow you to use a Trangia Uranus burner as well.
By far!!! The best video on this topic I have seen! Excellent info and thank you!!!
Thank you, mate. WOW that is great Ben. I didn't realize you could fit pots that size on that little stove. I really like that! Very nice!
I really like the versatility this one offers. Researching what stove i want to get for camping/hiking that is a lightweight bio-stove.
Ah, THAT'S the stove! Nice! Been looking for a descent woodburning lightweight stove for my bugout bag. Was considering Vargo now this one has my attention!
Thanks for posting and pointing me in the direction.
If you put the cross bars from the Emberlit stove crossed underneath it, then it's at the perfect height. I love this review.
Great video ! I have the nano and it is awesome. So flexible yet so compact. It is a great concept properly executed. Thanks for sharing !
thanks for watching.
Great video. I love firebox stoves. I have the the regular firebox and the nano both in stainless. I recently bought my son the nano. What great products. Thanks for sharing and keep them coming!!!
thanks for watching Anne.
Sweet little stove package. That leather case is very nice. 👍
for sure. keeps my pack clean.

you simply cannot go wrong.
I never thought of buying one of these. The unit appears very versatile, Thanks for a through review...Abe
thanks Abe.

maybe go alcohol stove or i just did a review on the new pocket rocket from msr which is a good trail stove.
just checked the pricing and this is a great buy awesome review
it truly is the best stove on the market. im planning on buying four more

Thank you for doing a great review on this stove and comparing it to the Fire Ant. Looks like a great choice.
thanks, both great choices.
please please please make an amazon list of all your recommended items. plus then you get a nice kickback when people buy. I love all the items you recommend.
all the videos on my channel i recommend.
haha im just lazy ;)
Cool! I definitely feel the ease of use of the firebox is a big plus. Thanks for the vid!
Also, good luck on your hunt! Maybe we'll get some hunting vids?
probably on my 2nd channel.
Great review. Pretty sure I'm ordering myself a nano! Love the concept.
Great 😎 Thanks. BG here from Germany
Haha!! Just recieved mine thought it was bent until i rewatched your video. I am surprised i got the titanium trangia but it had no lid.
1:55, I'd LOVE to see your top flops video. like the top 10 least favorite items reviewed. (not worst, just maybe least inspiring)
Agree
The Emberlit does work with the Trangia stove nested in the side slots.
yes it does. doesn't work with my evernew stove.
Nice scout spot out there! Great review!
Broke down and finally got one. Think I will use the BushBox pouch upgrade to carry it. Have the Vargo Hexagon and the Evernew DX, so might as well get the Firebox also. Never liked my BushBox, too fussy. At least I got a good pouch out of it.
Sorry I didn't use your Amazon link, it was $28 cheaper on Ebay. Titanium Gen2. New in original package.
Great video! I've seen so many. You give best info. Awesome
thanks.
Great review thankyou! I thought you took the kitchen sink too, lol
lol, was thinking about it.
Yes. It ia a great stove. I would love one...
DO IT!
I really like my ss nano. One piece. Nothing to lose or forget. Cool hat btw.
yep, love it. thanks.
Great Great Great videos! Thank you!
really cool love the stove one piece and you can use almost anything to cook wow how much $$$ thanks bro
they have two models. a ss and a titanium. prices are on their website listed in the description.
Very cool. Great video.
thanks.
I know that and I'm glad you do as well. Which makes me wonder why you claimed you went with the nano due to weight but then went with the leather. Doesn't make any sense to me but yo each their own. Have fun out there.
weight of the original was a factor.
I have the stove and love it!! What pot is that?
solid fuel stoves are awesome. you can get your fuel anywhere.
Hmm...crossbars for a FireAnt? Where did you source those puppies? Great stove. I would also like a Firebox nano as You have deemed it top notch! Great review!
yeah, i guess I didn't lose them afterall lol.
Hi
Thanks for an in depth review
I have both the Ant and the Nano
I find the Ant far better in its draft capabilities in sustaining a hot fire
It is easier to pack the stove with fuel, ignite and get a hot fire fast
I find the Nano far harder to start and maintain a fire that will cook well
The Ant has more of a chimney effect than the box like construction of the Nano
Also the Ant holds my Trangia at a much better distance for maximizing the efficiency of the Trangia
So the Emberlit Ant wins for me
Ever do any deer hunting around that area? Looked like a good spot.
that is exactly what i hunt for ;)
Nice!
Will a pop can alcohol stove fit in there as well? Thanks
I just ordered one... but it's not titanium. Should still work good!
i thought this was going to be heating stove. what is your recomendation on getting some kind of stove piped stove for a shelter so you don't catch the roof on fire?
kifaru, seek outside, snowtrekker and liteoutdoors all make good heating stoves. use a stove pipe kit so you don't light the tent on fire.
Great review vid, thanks.
Hey have you ever heard you look a lot like comedian Will Sasso?..(with sunglasses on..could be his twin)
Its better just to bring the matches or a lighter as the case maybe, coz in the woods you can fashion a makes shift stove using stones to support the pots or pans, that easy.
Must be nice. I hike in a 50sqMile forest, and have yet to find a singe stone in four years.
Like the B-52 hat!
me too!
How often do you have to clean soot off? and how much effort is it?
I usually clean my stoves/cookware when I get home. I just give it a light scrub with a scotch pad. If there is a little soot left over no worries.
My folding Firebox is my favourite stove, been thinking of the Nano but not sure about the strength of the four legs. Dealer in UK do not offer warranty unlike you guys in US, if it breaks, it breaks.
The legs are spring tempered and are surprisingly strong, much stronger than they look! We have never seen a Nano failure.
Titanium is very tough. You would have to really try to break a titanium rod like this. I would say near zero percent in even rough usage.
G Henrickson if only Firebox offers same warranty in UK.
M Sato I don't understand what are you referring to?
M Sato oh, i see. I will stand behind Firebox products regardless of who they're purchased from.
Great review Ben. I have the gen 2 5" and 3" - now I feel I need the 3" nano. Steve can u do a discount for someone over the pond?
LOL
Nice! What pot did you boil water in? Looks nice.
evernew pot. got a review coming up on that and the evernew titanium alcohol stove soon.
Evernew titanium pot rocks
for sure.
I think Steve also has a Cordura bag for, sale also.
yep, you can get that as well.
Great video! How do you think it does against the Toaks mini backpacker wood stove?
another great stove. the benefit to that one is it nests in your pot.
Nice spot .
Very sturdy stove. I ordered everything except the fuel plate. I added the 5" flex grill plate that's just big enough for a steak or chicken breast. Great review Ben. Everyone subscribe !
you will enjoy it david. thanks.
Love the stove
Awesome review!!! :)
thanks.
Is it safe to assume that you think this stove is superior to the Toaks titanium backpack stove?
both great stoves.
great víd sir
thank you my friend.
Where/what is Steve's site? Love your video!
first link in the description ;)
nice it that some cool stuff man
Great video and presentation.
thanks.
I need to know where you got that hat! :)
dump box
looks great
fo sho
If weight is a factor, why go with the leather pouch?
you wouldn't.
Wait doesn't Ti warp more easier than good old steel in the heat?
not this one.
First! , and I do have the steel version and feel the same
nice.
But will a Ti stove fuel m y flying car?
Haha...I am cooking a steak on my FIrebox G2 as I watch this video. Definately a great stove.
awesome!
I bought the stainless version for my BOB
What accelerator did you use to get the fire going so quickly?
birch bark.
how long does it take to cool down to the touch?
about 45 seconds.
different stove for different bros ;)
one for the hoes and one for the bros, i got two stoves
I really don't like the forum, I can't figure if I did it right???
love it
no coupon code?
nope.
I prefer the bush box xl titanium
Firebox stoves are very well thought out. Still pissed about my bush box, absolutely could not get it back apart it just warped to badly. Post hunting videos please
