For those having difficulty with this, I used the tools in this video along with others I found from another YT video and it worked.
First, create the dots on a layer (make sure dots are pure black). Second, add a new layer and completely fill that with pure white. Third, move the white layer below the dot layer and then click the dot layer and select 'Merge down.' Fourth, copy the now merged layer. Fifth, open the brushes panel and click the plus at the top to add a new brush. Click on Shape and add the copied layer as shown in this video. Before hitting Done, double tap the image with 2 fingers to invert the shape photo so it appears to be a black background with white dots (as shown in this video). Lastly, follow the rest of the brush changes shown here and any you see fit.
bro tysmm!
Thank you, the double tap the image is the key to make it works, thanks for sharing
Tysm! I’ve not long started using Procreate and I love to draw people and hair!
Tysm! This helped so much and it doesn’t even take that long !
Thx again
This didn’t work, it was a big line not separate strains

such an underrated vid😊
Mine was all dark too so I used black background and white dots, fully opaque and it worked. Not sure why the inverted image works for Shikarte but I did read about black background for brushes and white is what shows up when you draw with it.
Solved my problem, thank you
You have to double tap when your in shape when editing the brush
What brush do you use at the start?
I tried but can you tell how you make the dots or what brush your gonna use mine looks fine
Tysm! I am doing a speed drawing on my channel of a person (wip) and I was stuck on the hair
It didn't work for me, the brush looked like a thick line, but i followed all the steps!

I'm glad it did :)
can you please share this brush 🤞🏻
But how do you copy the layer??
Please make a video on how you get it to show only the drawing, but it shows the whole entire paper for me I need help 😭😭😭
In what step?
Do not use a background, make sure it is transparent. Also make sure your dots are white
It won’t let me paste it for some reason
Uhm it made my whole brush just… not hair? The white backround kinda made it like that how should I fix it?
Can you explain a lil as to what issue you’re actually facing?
I did this step by step and it didn't work for me...
what can I do to make this work??
Nvm I did the same thing about the black background and the white dots and that work
