Another home movie from Bob Juckett shows some IndyCar / USAC footage from the old Trenton NJ track in 1970, followed by some scenes of the Trenton Raceway years after it closed in 1980.
I grew up a few blocks from this, still remember the races and the state fair. When it closed down in the early 80's, we would fish the two lakes in the middle of the track, it's now one lake with houses on one side and Grounds for Sculpture/UPS on he other.
THIS CAN'T BE NINETEEN SEVENTY LOOK AT THOSE WINGS!
dominick virgilio The early part of the video is probably 1970, the race cars in the middle segment with the huge rear wings are from the 1972 season. You can tell it's 1972 for sure because the Parnelli cars (A. Unser, Andretti and Leonard) have the dihedral wings on them, and that was from their '72 design. Also, Donohue's '72 McLaren is easily recognized.
@@VPJP6B25 100 percent agreed though all cars could be from 72’
Definitely 1972.
On Nottingham Way. It is now Grounds for Sculpture. Here it is on Google Maps www.google.com/maps/place/Grounds+for+Sculpture/@40.2366753,-74.7179238,18z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0000000000000000:0x974069ccd6428196
I fell off the chair when I saw at the end, some film of the teardown. 1983.
