I go to a vocational school and I'm enrolled in the culinary arts program and you're a great inspiration for me. Should I ever own a bakery I'll have to use all your techniques to create elegant and beautiful desserts. Please keep posting the videos.. I love your voice and all of your extra commentary that gives a reason why you do things the way you do. Best of luck in anything else you do in your life, you deserve everything good that comes your way.
Julia, this is just stunning! I have visited 13 castles in the England and Wales and am so obsessed with them. I am having such a good time watching this.
I just found your video's recently and I love them. I'm going to need to buy some supplies but I plan on trying a lot of the techniques out. I'm an art major but I like to cook too so its really awesome that you show people how to decorate in such lovely ways. On a side note If you push down the black/blue highlight paint then wipe the raised sections down you can get an antique look for the silver. On copper colors you get patina by using a mix of green and rose. Thank you so much for sharing!
Your imagination and skills are just so inspiring to me. I am surprised every time I see the next project as it is always something I didn't expect. Your project are always so elegant and I must say the more whimsical and playful lizard and castle are fun just as amazing and awww inspiring to see. I love the textured cookie dough not only for the what it adds to the design but also for the way the mica powders play off and highlight the texture. You know I am obsessed with the metallics and the texture certainly is made for metallic powders to be applied giving it both the incredible shine that I love so much but also highlighting the most delicate detail. I didn't leave a comment after you made the enameled boxes and I feel bad because those blew me away. They may be my favorite project to date and that is saying something. I love what you did with the sugar veil products and the enameled look was perfection. In fact it was those boxes that made me realize I need to get ahold of one of your projects. Somehow.....someway.....someday... I must have one. Two things- have you ever used a ceramic paring knife to loosen the dough? Ceramic blades are sharper and stay sharper and I think are thinner than metal blades. The other thought I had is for the sponging- have you ever tried the Ranger Ink Blending Tools (rangerink.com/?product=ranger-mini-blending-tool)? The foam pads are attached with velcro and are washable. The tool comes in the round smaller size and a larger rectangle size. I think you would get a better application than the sponge daubers you are using since the material is firmer it is easier to hit the high points without dipping into the base of the cookie.
Hey dear your creations are wonderful and very very special..especially the ones presented in this video :))) one question though: what will happen if I apply the dough on the whole cylinder and why you tend to avoid that and cover just half of it? I am sure u know something more about it so I would be very happy if you answer Thank u in advance dear
Oh no, now I have to try this one as well. ;) so beautiful, another great video! I made some beautiful gingerbread cookies from your recipe with sugar laces and royal icing transfers that I learned from you. They were so fun to make! And the result is really great :)
Christmas is so near, that I want to take this opportunity, to thank you for all the lovely things I have learned from you. Your work is so beautiful, so elegant and so amazing that it turns, my cookies making moments, a sweet pleasure. I am Brazilian and live on the north east coast of Brasil. Well, allow me to wish you a very nice and Merry Christmas feeling your heart, with joy health and happiness. May the joy o Christmas be always with you!☃️🎄❄🎁
As usual, such a wonderful, helpful and insightful tutorial. I was wondering what brand are your domes from? I realize you may have cut individual ones from a larger set. They seem very sturdy and I can't seem to find any like it. Thanks again
Love your videos! However, when cutting my dough, I don't use a knife because it does pull and distort the dough you cut. I use a Pizza cutter because you always get a clean cut with no pulling or tearing.
I introduced my Mother-in-law to your videos last night...(mainly your 3D Kitchen-Oven Cookie), and we are convinced you are not human! Your talent & vision along with a simple no-nonsense approach to baking cookies amazes me!
Hi Julia! Thanks for the great tutorial/instructional. I'm sure that I don't have to tell you that you are on my learn to hate list. lol I just love watching you do your magic. You are the Queen of Wizardry! Love love this tutorial. I didn't do too well when I tried your cylindrical design and thus, gave up but haven't tossed the try again thought. lol I get destroyed when something doesn't work out. I love the lacy cookie and how you did it. I haven't bought those mats yet but they are on the to do list. (I'm scared to try the sugar veil though.) I was too happy when I logged into youtube and saw that you uploaded, Anyway, I've been trying the tulle design but it doesn't look too good (my opinion). I will try your designs.

***** I'm going to have to go back and see your "lizard video", I missed it. When I first saw the picture I thought, "Lizard? I thought those were the dragons that go with the castles!". haaaa... Maybe you should rename them. They're really cute.
***** I just watches cake craft worlds video of the Sugarcraft gun. I think that would make a lot of cool things to add to cookies. If you get a chance I would love to see what you come up with.

I was wondering how you keep everything organized. I am sure I have much less equipment than you but I find it difficult to keep, even that organized.
Awesome
