I like the butter scotch window best . Wondering how to cut the window hole out easiest on pre-made DYI kits ? If you can help with any ideas ? Also , I've used plain sugar for windows and dropped food coloring drops and used a toothpick to make the design i was looking for . It is the same as your last window idea mostly but gives it the stained glass church effect , and I'm nowhere near as talented as you are with this . Matter of fact I'm working with 1 arm and a prayer on this . Just a determined grandma tring to make her grandchildren happy . They are happy BTW, we do lots of projects together . They keep me alive , grateful and blessed to have them in my life . Thanks for the tips , it's appreciated 🤝🏼💕
Oooh...I love that stained glass idea! I'll have to try that next year! As far as cutting out windows on DIY kits, that can get tricky...there's a pretty good chance the walls will crack since they're already brittle. My husband has done it on already-baked gingerbread and has had luck with a really sharp knife or serrated knife. I wouldn't try to do it too close to the edge, though.
@@AllMomDoes , thanks for the feedback . Glad you liked my idea it means a lot coming from a professional , big compliment to me . Thanks , again . Hope it works out. Nice for you next year . 🤞
Thanks for the good ideas. I've just made two gingerbread Easter houses and , since I forgot to fill the windows with candies before I finished baking them, I was looking for a simple sugar method where I could avoid baking them anymore. I may try these. I do want something lighter. If you cook them on a lower heat or add a little water, would it melt enough without turning brown? I may try that. I'll let you know if it works.
I'd try the microwave method if you want lighter windows and don't want your gingerbread to bake/brown further. I've made white-colored windows with the microwave technique, I just watch the mixture carefully and remove/stir it frequently so I can catch it when it's at the appropriate temp but before it starts to turn amber. Good luck!
wowwey! cant wait to make my house! yummers!
Good job mom! I’m doing our annual gingerbread house competition and hopefully this will take me over the top!
YAY!!! Good luck on your competition! So fun!
It's really very good idea! I made windows with gelatine sheet, but your one is good! friend let's stay connected! Happy holidays!
That is a really good look!
Fabulous ideas

I saw in another video to microwave for a few seconds to soften the gingerbread then you can cut without breaking it.
Your Awesome! Thank you for the info
Super helpful and clear! Thank you….
The second window demo is exactly what I need 👌
Glad it was helpful! Best of luck on your gingerbread creation! :)
Thank you!
Won’t the second window be taffy like rather than hard candy?
Nope! They're all solid!

The middle window pane doesn’t look very translucent
