- In our last two Gingerbread Showdowns, Priya and Seth faced off with Sohla and Ham for competitions of epic, exhausting - and delicious - proportions. But in our third Gingerbread Showdown, we're switching things up. The teams are joining forces to create one of the most iconic houses in all of film: the "Home Alone" house. There will be pranks. There will be chocolate wallpaper. There will be … an edible Joe Pesci with his head on fire? (What “Home Alone” house would be complete without one?) As Kevin McCallister might say: Merry Christmas, you filthy animal.

Same here! I too watched the first and second episodes. That said, they inspired me to make a Victorian style gingerbread house that I still am working on! In my opinion, these two super hero couples on NYT Cooking are full of incredible ideas! I couldn’t stop laughing through each episode, which was (and still is) so incredibly important at this historic, unbelievable and terrifying time we live in! Thank you NYT Cooking! I actually changed my carrier because of all the knowledge and step by step tutorials you have provided us… in turn woke up my love of cooking and baking!😉 Thank you 🙏🏻

Between the on-the-nose reality TV editing, Ham & Sohla's sheer talent, Seth's quirkiness and Priya's persistence, this was the easiest 28 minute watch I've seen on RUclips all year. Keep up the great work!
The reality TV editing was a big part of the charm. The editors did great work.

The editing on these videos are so good. Sohla saying that she was going to do 'Seth level of accuracy' only for him to come over, not making eye contact to tell her he had burned the hell out of the wall and if that could fix it was pure comedic gold. And also kind of akin to asking where they could hide the body LOL. Their entire dynamic and friendship is what I love about these videos and why I look forward to them every year!
It's not Christmas until there's a new Gingerbread House vid with Sohla/Ham/Priya/Seth!! Seeing such competent and brilliant people at work is simply a delight.
You want a Seth level of accuracy, not a Seth level of cooking skill.

Loved the reunion when Ham got back from checking on the dogs - Sohla's slightly awkward 'they want us to reunite' and then they just have a very mundane conversation because Ham has only been gone for an hour

There are no family holiday traditions I love more than watching these 4 do this every year. This is now #1.
i love that the couples are at different ends of a spectrum of chill to serious bc its so funny to see. seth pulling up a fully light up base for the house was gold. there are no other couples suited for this series more

So much fun! I liked them a little less stressed working together. Also, knowing this was shot in October makes so much more sense why they were watching the movie outside and not freezing or covered in snow.

So as soon as I saw this up, I ran over to my streaming service to re-watch Home Alone. I had forgotten how unpleasant most of the characters are, unlike Sohla, Ham, Priya and Seth!

At this point, what I want is a whole TV show starring these four together as a team creating incredible edible masterpieces from different shows. With Priya's insane knowledge, Seth's technical know-how and baking skills, and Sohla and Ham's cooking expertise, they really could do anything.

Shirley's baking know-how, Abed's extensive film and tv knowledge, Annie's perfectionism, Britta's veganism and ethical food sourcing, and Troy happy to celebrate because he wasn't allowed to as a child. Jeff trying to get out of doing any work, but then getting just as obsessed as everyone else. The Dean showing up in a themed outfit and then opportunistically brushing powdered sugar off Jeff's chest. Pierce using his wealth to cheat and have it professionally done which then saves the group from Chang who tried to sabotage their efforts. #sixseasonsandabakedown
