    Nice video. My khaki Campbell's just started testing their wings. So far I'll have only seen about 15 feet of flight. The French muscovies are still on the ground

    Very nice, hope to see muscovys on your channel flying too. And maybe you will breed a mallard x muscovy hybrid, you have nice drakes to do it.Hybrids are strong, calm and good flyers.

      Thanks! I might get a couple muscovies next year, if I do I will certainly try that!

    What is the gray drake a buff mallard hybrid becuase there a similar looking duck in my area and we live in the north so my domestic ducks are the only domestic ducks living on a pond in like a 20 mile area and mine are to young to have bred yet so idk

      Yes, his father was a Buff Orpington and his mother a Mallard.

    How did you get that wood duck to be like that? Raised from a duckling?

    • @joelzierke2768

      Like what? Yes.

      Joel Zierke like tame, and not totally wild and flighty

      Lots of time with him as a duckling. He still doesn't like being held that much.

      Joel Zierke But like you can have him not in a pen and he won't fly off never to be seen again. Do you keep him in an aviary or what?

    • @joelzierke2768
      @joelzierke2768  7 лет назад

      We just let him out of the pen with all the other ducks. He flew around a bit panicky at first then landed. Since then he will fly around with my other ducks, but he never thinks about leaving. Yes, kind of a aviary.

    Egads, Muscovy ducks are invasive species in most places. Bring a lot of issues such as inbreeding and diseases other breeds have problems dealing with. I'd keep them far away from ducks like the ones you've been showing.
