After so listening to ARMY cadences (they just about all talk about the airborne rangers) I found myself saying "airboooooooorne rangeeeers!" when I saw the little buggers jump.
Fun fact - hooded mergansers and wood ducks will sometimes lay eggs in each other's nests. Their nesting habits and even incubation periods are virtually the same, so it's not unlikely that if you have both species in the area, you might see a few wood ducklings following a hooded merganser, or hooded merganser babies following a wood duck mother.
+adam goodman flippers ???!!?? you mean wings ? there still considered wings ya know they just don't have feathers (sorry for my nerdy animal lover correcting) (i just get really annoyed at miss spelled words or the wrong term for a animal XD)
Dude we turned this on thinking it was a nature doc about baby animals and then all of a sudden these baby birds were just falling to their death on a cliff lol
We have this happen for the canadian geese in my town... we have nesting geese on the roof of the local hospital, and they suicide jump off a 30 foot tall roof onto the lawn... little squecking balls of fluff ping ponging off the ground is something highly amusing.
That first climb to the hole looked hard enough... "YES finally made it to the hole! What was that, 3 feet? 5 feet? Hard part's over, can't get any worse than- Oh come ON"
its not a contest, geese don't get fed by their parents so any goose breed that nests high up means the goslings will have to jump to follow their parent to the water.
@@optimisticwhovian1726 neither do ducks. He is talking about the height, the terrain, and the predators lurking nearby which Barnacle goslings face, which makes this more like a playground.

They don't and could not possibly place cameras in every animal's home. hows that even a joke. jokes are supposed to be funny.. he made it to where it looked pretty serious. god dammit people. treat others the way you want to be treated and if thats too hard for you, than go back to pre- school

So strange to me to hear these birds described as ducks and ducklings, even though they obviously are. There are loads of these on the little river near where I live in Scotland, but ever since I was a child, we always called them Goosanders, and in my head I saw them as something different from ducks, especially due to their differences. Cute though! I've seen goosander ducklings being pushed out of a tree by their mother before when I was young
Pigeons used to nest just under the air conditioner in my eighth-floor living room, next to my computer. I'd slip them pieces of bread. They were so cool.
Last duckling: hey guys! Umm... I'm not so sure anymore that I'm a duck, I think I'm possibly a chicken. Yeah! Definitely a chicken. I'll just uh hang out up here... Alone... *Sigh* ok fine wait up!
BootyGang_Disciple Mass. They're so tiny gravity barely hurts them falling that far. You could probably drop them out of a plane and they'd be fine lol
The photographer had to drop those ducklings over and over and over again to get all these great shot angles in slow mo. Many duckies were hurt in the making of this documentary.
This makes me so sad aw I found a dozen wood duck ducklings in my aunts pool and the mom hit her head on a fence and died so we brought them home and bathed them in dawn (to get the chlorine off of their skin) and they started dying today 😭 the vet said they probably ingested too much of the pool water. They'res only 4 left and 2 of the 4 are dying. My heart is broken 😭❤️

Thanks for this adorable fact
This is the cutest thing ever filmed. EVER.

So if your friends jumped off a 50ft tree, would you??? 😂
Yes. Anything for my side of fries

No way
Griggsby Schtilfer i
Griggsby Schtilfer no. But what about your brother/sister
Aww the way they bounce when they hit the ground is so adorable.
Hey Corgi, I'm angry to you when you make them dead oh no 😱😱😱😱😱😱!!!
ITS AN ADORIBLE PIT OF FLUFFINESS
2:34 "No.. No.. Nooo.. Im not ready yet"
Others : Get the hell out of here :D
i don't understand how this made me so happy
+Hannah Elise I think its when they "flap their flippers" on the way down,
THINKING??????? they can fly.
+adam goodman flippers ???!!?? you mean wings ? there still considered wings ya know they just don't have feathers
(sorry for my nerdy animal lover correcting) (i just get really annoyed at miss spelled words or the wrong term for a animal XD)
Just seeing the ducklings make it to the ground safe and sound made me happy.
You're probably stoned right?
Oh I do
I just finished watching a video about chicks jumping from a rocky cliff and I’m so glad these had leaves to cushion their fall unlike the others😭
Yeah it’s true 😂
barnacle goose chicks?
Me too I saw those little geese hitting the rocks..glad to join here.
Dude we turned this on thinking it was a nature doc about baby animals and then all of a sudden these baby birds were just falling to their death on a cliff lol
Yes. Only one survived.@@topaztp

SUICIDE JUMP-
They r so young yet so brave! The leaves act like a trampoline to break the fall. Those ducks r having a good time.
Imagine how tiny the camera man had to be to film inside that tree
That first climb to the hole looked hard enough...
"YES finally made it to the hole! What was that, 3 feet? 5 feet? Hard part's over, can't get any worse than- Oh come ON"
I would have thought the drop is easier than the climb lol
Life of a kid...all the way through to adulthood.
So cute when they bounce at the bottom. I think its ok cuz the forest floor is made of leaves so its a natural cushion that breaks their fall
And they weigh very little compare to their surface area, it's the same as with ants who an drop form anywhere without really being bothered by it.
IT'S RAINING DUCKLINGS!!!
Very tame compared to Barnacle goslings jumping off rocky cliffs
its not a contest, geese don't get fed by their parents so any goose breed that nests high up means the goslings will have to jump to follow their parent to the water.

And we think human life is rough?
Haha! Glad I’m not a Barnacle goose.
In life, we all must take a leap of faith.
Kudos to the survivors!!!
Wonderful sight! I love their feet back-pedaling on the way down. Brave litte souls.
I own 8 ducklings and watching this brings me a smile to my face 😭😊
This is one of the most incredible things I've ever seen!
Awww, they're like little paratroopers
That is just unreal, AMAZING GO LITTLE DUCKLINGS U CAN DO IT!
~ Ducklings that are not even a day old, Fall out of tree and their Chill. ~~ When I stub my toe I cry for 20 hours. ~
Omg those duckling are so cute that they sing "I believe I can fly"
*ITS SO BEAUTIFUL*
Thank you for sharing this, it's so beautiful!
These ducks went mission impossible
Literally the cutest video of all time
That is just. So adorable
The way they flap their lil nubs on the way down 😭💜
They need parachute
This is much better than the horrible but fascinating geese falling video on the rocky cliffs.
This is the best nature photography I’ve ever seen.
I never would have guessed that webbed feet are great for climbing.
Ah, no, poor babies! I know they're okay, but I just kept going "no! no...duckies! don't!"
Don't worry. Those little guys are going "WHEE!!!" all the way down. They can't stay in the tree forever.
Lol, except for the one that was pushed out...
They HAVE to do this. The bounce from the fall stimulates their digestive tract.
They was a soft landing below in the leaves
They are so extremely light that they take no damage. Cutest evolution ever!
Lool look at em just flingin themselves 😂🥰

Asking their one day old ducklings to jump off a 50 feet tree??
..and I thought my parents were rude 😂😂😂
What a beautiful life of these birds innocent, calm peaceful and out of all dengeuor like a heaven,,Thanx from lala Pakistani
Mother Duck: Once you turn 18 (days old), you're OUT of my house!!!
18 hour ,as all baby in pic are no more than 1 day old
Haha...youre right
The little wood ducklings are so brave!
Surprisingly no predators below with their mouths open.
Holy shit, a few hours old and they're already free solo climbing and then base jumping without a parachute!
The whole plot of this video
Baby ducks: I AM SUPERDUCK!
2:50 that looked like it hurt

Why every single person hasn't watched this video 18,000 times is beyond me. Unbelievable.
They are so cute 😂 as they fall and hit the ground
I’m here because I experienced this in person today and wanted to see it again
Outstanding camera work
2:56 me and the bois testing if there is fall damage
It’s 4 am and I just watched sibling duckies sky dive together. Interesting....
This is so cute one of my favourite clips Love dem😁 Because they are Fearless !
*Paint it black starts playing*"Rare footage of paratroopers flying down to Vietnam"(colorized)
Artic Geese: "Landing on the forest floor? Amateurs."
Baby ducks: I was BORN for this!
Beautiful
when the scared one got pushed i bet in his mind he said billy why!!!!!
Why the fuck then can't i survive a drop the same distance
BootyGang_Disciple Mass. They're so tiny gravity barely hurts them falling that far. You could probably drop them out of a plane and they'd be fine lol
Ya got's more meat, man. More meat means more weight. More weight means you hit the ground a lot harder.
BootyGang_Disciple Maybe because you need leaves under you .
BootyGang_Disciple gravity. That’s why
Theyre so cute on slowmo! Haha.
So cute!
넘귀엽당..ㅠㅠ 둥지올라오는거 부터가 고비네
Jumping did not surprise me, it is the climbing that made me go WOW
How the hell, they made it
When it zooms in you just see that one duckling whos like: how bout i go _fuckin head first mother?_
The brave duckling .. I agree more if the musical accompaniment is replaced with the Song VAN HALEN - JUMP .. 👏🤩🤟
The photographer had to drop those ducklings over and over and over again to get all these great shot angles in slow mo. Many duckies were hurt in the making of this documentary.
Me: *sees them climbing the tree*. *shouts* SPOODERMAN!!!!
Me again : *sees them falling* *shouts* I BELIEVE I CAN FLY!!!!
Perfect camera man
I WANT A DUCK. If a duck can survive a 5 story fall, I wanna have one
Adult ducks can even go that distance the other way around.
They're so cute!
GREAT CLIMBING LITTLE ONES!
These ducklings are very smart if they know how to fly
The Fall.
I have work in 6 hours but I'm over here watching baby ducks falling off a tree
Priceless!
when the ducklings were climbing it looked like they were gonna break their toes 1:28
Life on earth is so brave!
how the hell do they get those amazing shots?
How the heck did they survive that drop
air resistance
They have resistance: Leaves, grass, dirt, and they're built for it.
Mostly because of weight
It's a 50 gram ball of feathers and very light hollow skeleton, they are birds not humans with thick skeletons and heavy bones.
Now watch barnacle gooselings jump 400 feet
They're born to fly! Fifty feet drop is nothing!
I didn’t know hooded mergansers laid their eggs in trees. I thought wood ducks and mandarin ducks were the only ducks that did that.
So who's more intelligent , the one who jumped first or the one who was hesitant ??
Aly Merchant All depends.
the one who pushed the hesitant one.
They are so fluffy and light the fall doesnt do anything to them...
Those are some brave ducks
I love this
these ducks have more bravery and boldness than most people RUclips comments
well they are also light in weight. I don't think a human baby can make that drop without some form of physical injuries.
Animals was talented than human look at this chick he jump 50 feet compair to human jump in 10 feet was died...
So i salute to this chick
man this is much better than the arctic geese video... sigh...
when the baby ducks fall it looks like they are flying
*I BELIEVE I CAN FLY*
