The entire first Boston album is epic, listen to every song on it. Tom Schultz was an MIT graduate who actually invented many of the devices that created the sound effects for the instruments to make them fuller and richer. To me this song isn't sad as much as it is nostalgic. I hope my MaryAnn had a good life, we parted as friends. 😂

As mention before, not a bad song on this album. 'Peace of Mind' and 'Smokin' are 2 of my favorite Boston songs. 'Peace of Mind' is the way I try to live my life. And 'Smokin' is just a fun song with a great keyboard solo.
Yeah, Boston's vocals cannot be denied. In my opinion, they also employ some of the best guitar tones that have just the right amount of distortion to not take away from the clarity of the notes, and that bass tone is so thick and creamy. Suggestions: Amanda, Foreplay/Long Time, and their instrumental rendition of The Star Spangled Banner.
Boston's debut album and among the handful of greatest rock albums ever recorded. The entire thing is simply epic. It was EVERYWHERE in the late 70's and well into the 80's. The "worst" song of the nine on the disc I'd consider good to very good. Read the story of how the group came together and how one member accounted for essentially 95% of the album. Guarantee it's unlike any band in history.
@Lippett, said, " Read the story the group came together and how one member accounted for essentially 95% of the album". Given the fact that Tom does not sing a single note on this record and given the fact that Tom does not play a single drum track on this record and given the fact that Barry plays on three songs, Fran plays on two songs and Brad plays acoustic guitar on one song, the 95% is not legit nor is it accurate.
Great reaction Blessings 😊. Love your new studio setup, conducive to sound. This song is relatable to anyone who thinks of a past love and the good times as a youth. Ah, innocent memories 😊! Yes, react to more Boston! Songs like Smokin & Foreplay/Long Time.❤
Hey, Blessing. I'm so glad you have stumbled upon Boston. This was their debut album, and every song on it is remarkably strong. And when their second album dropped, it was equally grand.
