    • @whydoieven1400
      @whydoieven1400 4 года назад +288

      Not really. For professionals and/or prodigies. this is considered medium at best- if he wanted to play something that's actually hard there's many options out there such as Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement (Which is considerably the easiest of the hard pieces on the piano). Then there's La Campanella, Liebesfreud, Liebesleid and Liebestraum. Then there's Chopin's etudes such as Wrong Note, Torrent, Waterfall, Winterwind. After that there's the Grandes études de Paganini, The Trancendental Etudes such as Feux Follets (ALSO by Liszt), the Hungarian Rhapsody, Opus Clavicembalisticum by Sorabji. THEN we have Gaspard de la Nuit by Ravel, Alkan's Concerto for Solo Piano (WHICH, in it's entirety is 50 minutes long), Sonata No. 5 by Scriabin, Trois mouvements de Petrouchka by Stravinsky, Piano Concerto No. 2 by Prokofiev, Étude for Piano by Ligeti. Those are just some examples- there's still more and the piece he played IS NOT one of them.

    • @juliannehmert9319
      @juliannehmert9319 4 года назад +120

      For anyone that's actually played the piano more than 1 hour through out a youtube tutoriel, you know that it isn't extremely hard. Technically and emotionaly. I'm not saying he's not talented just that there is over 2 million of virtuoso in China only. To be clear : virtuso is another planet from what you've seen in this video. No hate in this comment, just give the right amount of respect for pros.

    • @juliannehmert9319
      @juliannehmert9319 4 года назад +47

      @@whydoieven1400 I couldn't agree more honestly. It doesnt take talent to be able to play Chopin's etude. It takes talent and extremely hard work, precision.
      Those that master them, they are really astonishing. But of course they won't try this show as it's mainstream entertainment for the people.

      It's called getting in the zone
      It's when he's SO deep in his work that he's in a sort of trance. It only happens when your focus is solely on what your doing right now.
      It happens to gamers, musicians, actors, anything that makes you focus on what your doing.
      When your in the zone, you forget your fears, your sense of worry, the only thing Tokyo was feeling was his music, and when he was in the zone, it wasn't his body or his mind you were hearing, but his soul.

    It's very rare for pianists to play so aggressively, yet still produce a gentle and soft note. It's almost like a really bad scratch. You have so many emotions and you just want to hammer the keys but the talented few can turn all these emotions into something beautiful.

      DownieMcSyndrome I know your question wasn’t directed at me, but... I think for many, yeah. It’s really hard to play the way he did and make it sound as if his fingers were already resting on the keys. I played piano for years and I don’t have the kind of control he has when he hits the keys aggressively. It’s a lot harder than it looks. One small mistake could ruin everything that was good about the piece so lifting your hand up that high and bringing it back down with that kind of force is kind of a gamble.

And since you've got a total of four subscribers and no posted content of any kind I think your opinion, because thats all it is at the end of the day, can be safely ignored.

    Always late to a party, just hearing this for the first time. Brought tears to my eyes, absolutely beautiful.
