I kind of miss the days when Sushi Masato was less known and it was much cheaper and easier to get reservations... Now they're like 2x-3x as expensive.
I always go to Sushi Masato for lunch (฿4000) instead of dinner and I thought the price was very affordable compared to the quality that we get 😮 I think the price is also cheaper compared to many other top tier places in Bangkok, courses are usually 4500/6000/8000 so I’m quite surprise you mentioned it’s now 2-3 times more expensive than before! When I heard about Sushi Masato the restaurant already got a star so I wouldn’t know what the price was like before that. Recently moved back from Osaka and have been craving good sushi.
It really is difficult to get reservations these days! Wow 4,000 for dinner is really a good deal. Omakase in Bangkok nowadays is definitely much more expensive than before. I hope you can find some other good options from my videos so please stay tuned! 😊 p.s. would love to visit and explore Osaka style sushi one day!
Thanks for the review! I'll definitely be using your video as a potential list of restaurants to visit in BKK. Specifically, I'm curious about Nikaku. Do you remember which course did you order? Since it's from Kitakyushu, did you notice any differences in terms of ingredients and style?
Hi 😊 for Nikaku I went when they first opened and had only 1 type of course which is a 20-course for ฿7500 (around $205). I think their style is very traditional, no modern twist at all compared to other places I’ve been to. They produce their own in-house vinegar for the sushi rice, so that was quite special. The rice was delicious and they don’t use sugar in their rice. The ingredients are slightly different from Tokyo style as they incorporate many local Kitakyushu ingredients so that was quite interesting. The place is definitely worth a detour if you’re looking for some high quality Omakase. I hope this helps and thank you so much for watching! 😊🥰

Sushi Saito didn’t make it to my list since I haven’t been there. But I heard some mix reviews about it, some people enjoyed it and some thought the food was a little too simple for its price. I can’t really say until I get to try it myself! Seems like it’s one of the most expensive Omakase in Bangkok right now. I’ll probably give it a try this year.
