Hey Chosen, you could put the botany pots on top of a sophisticated storage barrel with a furnace upgrade to autosmelt logs into charcoal.
but it is slower than iron furnace, it use vanilla speed

I have honestly started to adore silent gear after ATM8. One of my friends found it has a command to export all the part details into a spreadsheet and we spent probably hours pouring over it and min-maxing every single part on our weapons to make some absurdly powerful tools
What was the point though
i finished atm8 and there was barely anything i needed to fight...

@@Liberty46 Because making weapons that could one shot gods was honestly funny. I also had an apotheosis axe that could kill another player three times with a single swing.
I loved maxing my health over their limit of colorful hearts that it started filling up again lol.
@@Liberty46i bet youre fun to play games with 😐 the fun is in the journey not the destination. The goal isnt to beat the pack as fast as you can and then move onto the next, the real goal is to just have fun and play with a bunch of mods all mostly custom balanced to work well together. And you can get endgame silet gear WELL before you will ever see the end of the pack. And also you DO have to fight stuff ti complete the pack, including some rather tough enemies, which tells me you havent ever even finished the pack to begin with (otherwise you would know that already) so your opinion on it is kinda irrelivant bc you havent experienced the whole thing. Silent gear is probably in the top 3 most useful and overpowered mods in the pack (the other 2 imo being the mobgrindingutils and apotheosis)
one advice i give you is that if you want to recycle villager trades instantly, you can put an emerald in a stone cutter to create like shards and if you right click them to villagers you will recycle their trades
Oh, one more silent gear tip - amethyst gives you silk touch in tip form. Super powerful early on.
It warms my heart to see railcraft, one of my favorite mods in 1.12 get ported to a newer version.

also the tool belt, had seen it and thought it was somewhat useless as I did not have the keybinds set up, but you made me try again, and that is going to be such a usefull mod, especially for me as I always want to have several different tools on had, very nice!

Traveller's backpack provide certain benefits like night vision or wall climbing, so do check the description of those
Silent gear gives you access to some abilities like silk touch and fall damage immunity through certain materials (depending on the modpack of course). To browse them in jei, simply type "sgear" followed by the effect or part type you're interested in (e.g: "sgear binding"). You might have to use some keystrokes to get it to display the info you want, but the tooltip should explain that.
That is a super useful trick im gonna be using now
Even after playing tons of ATM8 I still learn something new each time I watch you lets plays. Shows just how many mods and options for creativity their really are in these modpacks
Yeah atm9 is also way bigger than atm8. I start3d out with atm9 as my first modpack ever (except pixelmon) and I was hella confused.
There are so many things to do and honestly a lot of it overlaps each other/does the same. I'm working on hust making my own little modpack but im going to miss the quests. Atm is just a bit annoying with how much you get that you just don't care about. I don't care about technical mods, and all that power stuff. I just like exploration and minecolonies (the only reason I ever go back to forge)

@@Fiemus9big mistake lol, starting with atmX (any of them) is a TERRIBLE experience bc allthemods kinda requires you to have a fairly good grasp of most of the baseline mods like AE2, modgrindingutuls, apotheosis, etc that are basically required to get anywhere in the pack, you can do it but i pitty the pain you were probably going thru. Ive been playing modded for almost as long as mods have been a thing and even i struggle with a few of the mods in it still (Applied Energistics hurts my head so much lol even these days when i know the ins and outs of it i still manage to fuck up my system atleast 3 times before i get it off the ground)
Im really looking fwd to see how this series progresses its allways fun to see how u go true a pack that is fairly open on how u pogress true it. And I learned to love the ars magic mod from ur atm8 seires :D

Lol hows it goin for yall so far? I myself just now started it, love the changes from atm8 they made but omg my computer doesnt like how much bigger 9 is than 8 was 😂 poor thing is damn near constantly stalling trying to run the pack but on super low settings i can maintain 30-60 fps
Should make a brass pickaxe head which is a silk touch plus it is diamond level but you can also tip it with a diamond to get the durability up.

If you plan on using spawners those silverfish ones you destroyed in the cave are amazing to silk touch. Silverfish ones already have amazing stats and need the least resources to get them to crazy spawn rates.
I'm sure I'll find more of them! I will need spawners for some of the farms I want to set up!
But silverfish dont drop anything? Why bother farming something with no drops?
Loved the video! I think the speed upgrade for the furnace is perfectly efficient, the last time I read the description it said it halves the cook time but takes twice the fuel
nah it's twice the fuel compared to how much it cooks. one coal smelts 4 items with a speed upgrade
@@Heroo01use a factory upgrade with it and fuel becomes irrelivant, and iirc a single windmill can support an iron level factory with speed mod in it
1. You can mend iron with copper they're the same tier material
2. Amethyst shard makes Silk Touch tip
3. Change pickaxe heads to Obsidian for 3000 durability
Obsidian has less than diamond level tho no? Or am i misremembering that one? I remember doing that in atm8 but it wasnt diamond level unless i added a diamond tip to it

There must be a ton of off camera mining as well, I'd be interested to know how much there's been. Also the spawn rate of those monster spawners and artifact camps is CRAZY high
@@viperion_nz basically none, the pack is super generous. exploring takes the most time but it's still not a ton and it goes by fast

About enchanting, the eidolon soul enchanter is a good way to go about it since you could upgrade your enchants like fortune, unbreaking, looting etc. To level 10( or 9 since I don't know what apotheosis did to the limit in atm9 :D) and I think it's cooler and cheaper than just adding enchants in an anvil until you max them out :D
Also also you should socket good apotheosis gems you get from chests/dungeons if that hasn't changed from atm8
Yeah apotheosis is pretty much the exact same as atm8 as far as i can tell with maybe a slight decrease in the spawn rates of apotheosis mobs but i havent played enough to confirm that or if its just bad rng so far
The automation makes me very happy especially because I want to fool around with the fate/stay mod in this

That charcoal farm is super neat, you could even add the factory upgrade to make it more efficient by using power (iirc a single windmill is enough to power a factory with 1-2 speed upgrades in it)

The Wraiths make it so you can't heal yourself, they freeze your HP.
Best way to get silk touches with those tools. Simply and amethyst tip do it.

You can put items in the tool belt by holding the item in your hand and holding R as well same with just switching items pretty nice mod

i find the best way to find the bunny slippers is to find those generation on stilts out on the surface. The one with the environmental accumulator. They have either cat slippers or bunny slippers
Not entirely true, they can have ANY artifact in them... the only artifact that isnt random chest loot is the steak which comes from cows with a super rare chance

Gold top in early silent gear tools is a good one as it gives out a flat bonus to mining speed, for late game redstone tip is the best as it gives out a multiplicative modifier to mining speed, redstone tip is good for swords as well
Gold is trash at any stage of the game for the exact same reason as it is in vanilla, the durability is basically worthless... you are better off making an iron one and upgrading it
Also redstone tip is not the best lategame tip (the reason being that you cant mine faster than insta break and you can easily instabreak every breakable block in the game without it so its just redundant), the best lategame tip is one of the end game silent gear materials, infact every single best material for silent gear is an endgame silent gear meterial
Remember, that my suggestions are meant for early start to middle game, late game when you have a decent amount of the best material, is when you should focus on it
You should see if mimics can be caught in the quantum catchers as well
No point, they only drop artifacts if they are natural spawns in the structure. Any other spawn drops absolutely nothing

In ATM modpacks, I always rush to Allthemodium tools/weapons to get Indestructible stuff and never really used Silent Gear, but I can see the draw of it. I actually miss Tinker's myself, but I know peeps got tired of it eventually. Silent Gear seems like it bypasses a lot of Tinker's 'work,' but I actually liked that work using different layouts of the machines...ha

If it didnt then im not going to be touching villagers literally at all in this pack bc that change is the biggest load of bullshit mojang has ever pushed (yes even compared to chat reporting) they butchered villagers bc they want ppl to use the other enchanting methods but they didn tuodate the other methods to make them actually viable they just brutally murdered the only vanilla enchanting option that was bearable to deal with, gotta love spamming 50 fuckinpickaxes in the table to get fucking silktouch ir spending 3 weeks scouring the world for a singular mending book out of the 10+ you need for your gear 😐 oh i hate that change so much, im actually learning modding specifically to make a mod the rolls back that change to how it was before and im gonnd keep that mod up to date for every single version of minecraft that will ever release and on every single mod loader that comes out bc nobody should be forced to deal with that bs
@@surr3ald3sign don't need dozen of pickaxes just use the grindstone to disenchant. but sitll a pain to build a XP Fram to use the enchanting table to get exaclty what you want. Vs villagers trading. and mending is not OP imo
You can fill SG repair kits with copper and repair iron tools with it
I have a question I’m still new to all the mods 9 but what do you mean when you said you’d need a filter to block the iron golem sounds i want that but im confused on where to look for it to make it..
Ok im late as fuck here but i can help, its not an item. In your inventory up by your characters head theres a little audio button, press that and it opens the silence menu that displays every single sound in the game and can be sorted by sounds that you are hearing or heard recently tho it can be annoying bc some of the sound names are misleading so sometimes it takes a little bit of trial and error to figure out which sound it is youd like to mute, it also doesnt have an upper limit to how much you can mute either tho ofc id only recommend doiing it to things like mobs that you have farms for like he did *side note with an ounce of humor, never mute creepers 😃 its horrifying*

@@Heroo01the answer to that question is yes 😂 so many modded noobs here saying ATM9 is their first mod pack and im just sitting here laughing like a super villain knowing how much they are going to suffer... there arent many modpacks worse to start with than ATM, even RLcraft isnt as hard as ATM.
@@surr3ald3sign I think my 4th pack was Nomifactory which is all Greg and it was certainly a wake up call on how to figure shit out on my own lmao. It's also just incredible how people always jump into the deepest end and then say it's too hard and quit after not being able to find a keybind
Is there a mod in this pack that makes it so dark underground or has Minecraft changed since I last played it? I saw "Dark Mode Everywhere" but that seems to affect GUI's only.
Yes, its in your like render distance settings area, its an entire tab labeled "true darkness" should be near the bottom of the list of visual settings tabs. I honest to god dont recommend playing with it bc it makes caving basically impossible without nightvision if you actually want to find any ores, and ofc it adds absolutely no upsides to make up for that incredibly annoying downside, even tho it does look cool

U should make an iron ore hammer to basically double ur ores early game... Also instead of the farmer u can actually put a botany hopper pot with carrots/potatoes in it...
Don't forget to mine the blocks of raw ore next to the ore veins you mine.
the inf steak is from artifacts and the INF ham is from relics

I think you can also hoe the dirt in tree botany pots, because farmland has x1.1 speed multiplier when dirt has only x1.0

Trees cant be grown on farmland bc its a transparent block ive already tested that one in both atm8 and 9 lol, tho regular grass blocks have a 1.2x iirc

*its basically the same mod* iirc sophisticated started as a port of adventurebackpacks but then became its own thing including the chests and barrels and stuff

hey chosen make a paxel this would make you a multi tool and i use gold tip and tool rods for speed
Paxels are super meh until mid game materials are available (the nether AND end really) otherwise its better to just make the normal tool types bc they each perform slightly better than the paxel does so until you can build an instabreak paxel, dont build one bc it will always be slower than a normal tool for the job would be

When you were fighting that boss you said you had to swing faster or you will die. Actually swinging faster make you do less damage. If you pause till the sword under your aiming redical is full then the weapon does its full damage. Otherwise you just poke for 1 to 2 damage.
Incubator and trader are backwards i think.
hemps need to 3 for 1 item but flux of thermal give u minimum 2 item directly

Astral sorc is in basically every single magic pack on curseforge tf you mean? It is one of the most prolific magic mods on curseforge along with mods like blood magic, thaumcraft and ars nuveau

It has its similarities, yes, but it is a very different mod, though I have no doubt the authors of Silent Gear took inspiration from Tinker's Construct.
@@RunnerBoy55the way i put it is that silent gear is what tinkers wanted to be and should have been, tinkers was fun dont get me wrong but silent is WAY better in every conceivable way.
Yeah, its alot better in general tho bc it doesnt force you to do a bunch of tedious, circular progression to get really good tools, and it also just feels better to play bc making a good tool goes from like an hour of work to a 15 minute session of brainstorming which parts you want to use and then slapping them together bc most of the mats are just regular ores that you smelt normally and then turn into tools
cant you carry more packpacks to use as portable storage as well you dont need to ware it to use nd or open it right
Yes but having only one on means you can open and close it with a single hotkey rather than digging around your inventory, and if you need more than one backpack you need to learn loot priority and stop picking up things like cobble and dirt that you can get in literally infinite amounts whenever you need them. I can exolore for HOURS on one diamond tier backpack withour leaving anything valuable behind, it literally just comes down to "dont pick up garbage" this is bc the backpacks can hold THOUSANDS of stacks of items if you actually use upgrades, you should never have inventory issues once you get a backpack
@@surr3ald3sign true once you hit diemond teir plus every one has there own prefrence for me i generaly like to carry 3 back pack of diemond teir when super exploring and some stiff is low teir loot but some times that low teir loot comes in handy when you need it
So fair warning to anybody who finds a jungle temple that opens with a large maze of pressure plates. Almost 3/4 of every block there is a silverfish infested block.
I found that out the hard way when I hit one with an apotheosis sword that does damage to nearby mobs... lets just say the entire temple turns to swiss cheese and there are hundreds of silverfish that aggro on you... It got to the point where I wasn't sure if my character or computer was going to die first.

Late to the party, but you can put industrial hemp seeds in the botany pot, but for some reason it needs to be in a stack of 1, it doesn't work when in a stack of multiple seeds.
Eh its okay, flax is better than hemp anyway lol, hemp needs 3 to make 1 string where as flax only needs 1

Early game I found a wandering trader and got a fully enchanted diamond pick with fortune 7
There a lot of boxing gloves you keep skipping. They’re hand slot artifacts that increase your damage
They are bugged and dont work in atm9, they dont go in the hand slot like they are supposed to, you CAN equip them but then you cant ever take them off (so for example if yoy equip a pair of leather ones and then find a pair of duamond ones, you are now stuck using the leather ones) bc the slot they are equipping to doesnt exist, i soent 6 hours yesterday trying to figure it out and made a bug report abt it to the atm team, so even tho it was months ago that bug may have been a problem then too and just gone under the radar

Istg theres a hidden trigger that prevents them from spawning the moment you start crafting mobgrindingutils stuff 😂 every time i go to swab them there is none anywhere
i have installed and uninstalled this several times this week. keep getting a pop up error that states
"Unable to find a changelog for All The Mods 9-0.2.28... this doesn't seem right."

Probably too late to mention it, though easiest way to move a spawner is with a cardboard box from Mekanism.
Yes and no, you need to get into mekanism a bit to make them and mekanism machines are some of the most annoying crafting recipes istg even the basic machines make you go thru like 5 different crafting steps to make them
Even if you don't need it that's way too many loot to leave behind!

I forget, is the snad mod installed in this pack? Sugar cane grows faster on snad. For anything dirt, grass, or sand it grows at the same rate.
It was in atm8 ik but even still snad isnt good anymore... it doesnt work with redstone clocks like it used to which is why it was so good, now you can just plant stuff normally bc the increased growth rate really isnt that imoressive either, its not even double speed
