I've fallen in love with this mod as fantastic AE2/RS/whatever alternative, because while those mods are good, they just don't always fit with the aesthetics I have in mind for a modlist. This one just fits right in with a more vanilla or magic modlist while still having loads of the features that some of those big tech mods have. Overall just great stuff here.
I got an idea for a drop off. Barrel (with a hopper and magnet upgrade) placed on controller. This way you can Shift empty your inventory, barrell will magnet it all and feed it to controller which will sort the stuff.
But can you pull items back out through the Storage Controller? Can you attach something like AE/RS to the Storage Controller and see everything in all the barrels/chests/drawers at once?
Yes, by attaching directly to the storage controller via external storage(RS) / storage bus (AE) and setting the priority higher than the main storage system. You can extract/insert item to the controller.
Hey Valen, I had watched this video when it came out, but I just came back to try to find out what the Storage Link does, but it turns out the information in your video is a bit incorrect. The functionality you showed for the Storage Link you can do with just the Storage Tool and any Sophisticated Inventory. I finally just decided to make a Storage Link and do some testing with it, and it turns out the Link makes any Sophisticated Inventories that are touching the Linked inventory act as if they're part of the multiblock instead of having to link them all individually, you can just attach a link to one chest and they'll all be linked. Not sure how useful that is, tbh, I was hoping it would increase the range, or allow you to attach inventories from other mods, but oh well.
Can you please talk about the crafting table upgrade and how linked storage can be used to pull crafting components from all storage blocks? What needs to be done to achieve the same functionality as simple storage?
This is more so a mod to help automation and storage for early game for packs using this mod. Stuff like AN (Ars Nou) or whatever else you use for storage like RS/AE2 is definitely compatible.
toms simple storage is nice and has a very vanilla looking aesthetic. rftools has some very powerful options (including wireless cross-dimension access), and is super easy to make early game.
Is it possible to have multiple containers with the same storage? I made a fairly compact auto brewer with the mod but i'd like to make several without making sure all of them have the ingredients
pretty sure you have to be looking at a different part of the barrel to do it because if you look at the picture of the item it sends a different input than the one that opens the interface
Great video! But I need help for something xD. Does someone know how the storage link actually works? Because I have a great zone for my chests, but the storage connector doesn't connect to the ones that are too far, and I thought that the storage link would help me with that, but I tried a lot of things and none of them worked. I would appreciate if someone helped me ^^
I think the integrated tunnels wireless connectors work the way you described, to join disconnected storage into a single network. It would be cool if the mods were compatible for that functionality.

@CaptnCosmic I know, I meant that using a shulker is a more vanilla feeling solution to a “backpack”

There's some sort of interface block which does exactly this but I cant recall its name

Another storage mod called Simple Storage Networks does that AND it's compatible with sophisticated storages

I think that's the maximum range, you'll probably have to use something like Pipez if you wanna send things further

I don't think it's supposed to be about the mod being balanced. It's no less or more powerful than any other storage mod.
